What a fantastic observation! 🌟 Feathered hair truly is making a stylish comeback, and it's amazing to see how timeless trends like the Farrah Fawcett look continue to inspire us. No bangs, no capes, just pure elegance! 😄 Do you have any favorite hairstyles from the past that you'd love to see return? Let's chat about it! 💬💇♀️
Beautiful!! That's the haircut that my hairdresser used to give me in the 80s, and now I can't get her to do it for me. It's like she’s forgotten how to cut like that!
I totally understand! It's frustrating when a hairdresser changes their style or technique. Have you thought about showing her a picture of what you want? Sometimes a little visual reference can help jog their memory!
@@coach-kimmy Yes! Believe it or not, she’s apprehensive about giving me the entire cut. She will provide me with slight layers in the back but keep the sides long. I told her I didn't mind if she brings up the length to get the cut I wanted but does not do it!🤷🏽
@@dkayrotachSAME HERE!!! I have begged my stylist to do this cut on me for over 2 yrs now and she just won’t do it?? I’m starting to think the same thing… that she thinks it doesn’t suit me or will look bad?? My Stylist keeps all my layers way too long, I’ve shown her pics and ive even shown her videos and screenshots of Kimmy doing THIS type of haircut!! 💇🏻♀️ I wonder if our stylists really do think it won’t “look right” on us?? 😕 I would absolutely be open to hearing my stylist out, if that’s what she thought and what else she suggests if that were to be the case… Good luck to you and me on hopefully getting our “Dream Jaclyn Smith haircuts” someday??!❤❤❤
And that is why I get nervous around overconfident hairdressers!! They just keep cutting and cutting to try convince us we NEED ALL that hair off when we don’t!!! Some of us like our length!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 😊 It's so important to feel comfortable and confident with your stylist. I believe in enhancing your natural beauty while respecting your personal style preferences. I agree the hair dressers hair is not chopped or over cut she has long length. My daughter and I hate all that razo cut look our hair is this n course we end up with split ends and another smart A hair dresser looks at our chopped dry hair n asks are u oiling ur hair um yes n then sum.
I don't understand the negative comments. I mean, at first, I thought she was taking too much off, but when you see the end result, it's beautiful and easy to style. I wish I could find a good stylist around me without breaking the bank.😢
@@michellel5552 I don't get it either. I've seen some horrible haircuts, colors, and styles on RUclips that didn't get nearly the hate that this video got. I thought it looked nice and seemed to be just what she asked for.

I agree with some of you other commenters. I feel like she was scissor happy. I feel it would have been a beautiful cut/look for the customer if it were left thicker & longer. I am a female & go to a male hairdresser. He does exactly what I ask. I feel the majority of women I have gone to previously have been to clip happy. Even when I ask them beforehand not to cut length off. I'll ask for a quarter inch off trim, & get 3 inches cut off . When I ask why they did that, inevitably, I hear the same thing..."It needed it". I feel even tho "it needed it", it's not what I asked for & I'm the one paying. So happy I found my perfect hair stylist! 🙏🏻❤️
Hey there! 🌟 I totally get where you're coming from. It's so important to find a stylist who truly listens to your needs and respects your vision. I'm a stylist (43 yrs this year ) and a salon owner, too. I work alone. Since my last stylist left, a few years ago, I have no one to cut my hair. I go months between haircuts because no one knows how to long layer hair. I end up hacked up and have to fix it myself over the course of a few months. I like a shorter top but full, layered sides that I can blow out or scrunch or let aor dry My days are long, 7- 730am start to whenever I finish 12 - 14 hour days. I don't have much time in the morning to fuss. I do alot of this hair cut you're doing. I love to texturize. Gives hair so much movement. I do alot of point cutting as well but much deeper. I gave up the notching sheers years ago and customize per client. Great haircut.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for the kind words about the haircut! 😊 It's amazing to hear from a fellow stylist with such dedication and passion for the craft. I completely understand the struggle of finding someone who can execute the perfect long layers, especially when you're used to doing it yourself. Your approach to texturizing and point cutting sounds fantastic, and it's clear you have a deep understanding of creating movement and style versatility. Given your busy schedule, it's impressive how you manage to maintain your own hair while running a salon. If you ever need a quick refresher or inspiration, feel free to check out more of my tutorials. I'm always here to share tips and tricks that might make your styling routine a bit easier. Keep up the amazing work, and thank you for being part of our community! ❤️❤️
So nice to see an actual beautician! If you ask for a layered cut these days... people have no clue what they're doing. They don't know face shapes, hair texture nothing! Most of these stylists went to school and got their license online during covid... NO real experience and like everything else they've cut the exam considerably! Yet these people charge 250 for a hair cut and wash and they're afraid of doing it or hack it!
It's great to hear your appreciation for skilled beauticians! I went to beauty college in the earlie 70s and boy do you do thing's differently today.. I've watched other hair dresser's n some of the techniques today are crazy! Anyway, great job! That cut look's so good on her.. 🤗
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 It's fascinating to hear from someone with experience from the early '70s. Indeed, hairstyling techniques have evolved significantly, and it's always exciting to blend classic skills with modern innovations. I'm thrilled you enjoyed the haircut; it's always my goal to make styles that not only look great but also suit the individual perfectly. If you have any favorite techniques from your time in beauty college, I'd love to hear about them! Feel free to share more of your experiences or any questions you might have. ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 It's amazing how timeless styles can be reimagined for today's trends. Your support means the world to me, and I'm excited to keep sharing more hair inspiration with you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I've been to 6 different stylists trying to get this exact cut costing a minimum of $80.00 a cut. Everyone failed so far. None offered to try again without payment even though I wasn't happy n didn't get what I asked for. I've shown videos on how to feather n pictures even. None of them could wrap their brain around it. This was popular in my 20's n my favorite cut ever. Now, because of your making this video, I have a chance! A styling brush is the vest curling iron to use. Because it has teeth it help each layer curl properly. ❤
I'm so glad I could help you find the right stylist! It's frustrating when you don't get what you ask for, especially when you've shown pictures and videos. I'm rooting for you to find someone who can give you the perfect "beach ball" haircut!
I cannot believe how much I learned watching this video. What a stunning haircut brilliantly executed. I was holding my breath at the amount you looked as though you were cutting off, but it was really understanding what you’re saying about the thinning out sections. What a beautiful brilliant, cut, absolutely gorgeous, timeless, timeless, absolutely beautiful
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 I'm thrilled to hear that you found the video both educational and enjoyable. It's always a bit nerve-wracking when it looks like a lot of hair is being cut, but understanding the technique behind thinning out sections can make all the difference. I'm glad you appreciated the timeless style we achieved. Your support means the world to me, and I hope to continue bringing you more stunning hair transformations! ❤️❤️❤️
Great cut! You obviously know what you're doing. Even if she doesn't blow it out like that every day, it will still look really cute with her natural curl. If she doesn't want to take the time to blow it out or doesn't have the skill, she can always use a hair tool that makes styling it really easy. The are some great ones out there.
@coach-kimmy I've been wearing mine in an inverted bob for the past 4 months. My hair has started getting thin & I believe it had a lot to do with me wearing it in a pony tail all the time so I got it cut short enough that I'm not able to put it in a pony tail in hopes of it helping it to thicken back up a little. Also taking vitamins too. I think it's starting to help!
Thank you for sharing your experience! 😊 It's great to hear that you're taking proactive steps to care for your hair. An inverted bob is a stylish choice, and it's smart to avoid ponytails if they're causing thinning. Vitamins can definitely help, and it's wonderful that you're already noticing improvements. Keep up the good work, and remember, healthy hair is a journey. If you have any questions or need more tips, feel free to ask. Your hair journey is important, and I'm here to support you! ❤️❤️
I really love how you framed her face, and what you did with the back of her hair thinning it. Really nice. The haircut you did is what I've asked for, but never gotten. Nice work!
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 It's always my goal to deliver the haircut that my clients and viewers have been dreaming of, and I'm glad I could achieve that for you through this video. If you have any other styles or techniques you'd like to see, feel free to let me know. Your feedback means the world to me! ❤️❤️
Kimmy!! I LOVE your costume!! You always look So Beautiful!! Once again ❤ I’m IN LOVE with this Fabulous Haircut!!! I have shown my Stylist pics and videos of this style and she only layers the top and sides and the layers are never short enough… Then the back of my hair is too long which I don’t want anymore!! I only want the “appearance of length!” I want this Awesome 80’s style with ALL the Layers!!! 👍🌟❤️ I’m 49 now and I hope I can get my hair cut like this FINALLY?!!! YOU, Kimmy, Are the BEST!!!🌟🥰❤️🏆🎉🌟
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! 😊 I'm thrilled to hear that you love the costume and haircut. It sounds like you're really passionate about achieving that fabulous 80's layered style! Here's a little tip: when you visit your stylist, you might want to bring a few specific photos or even a short video clip from my channel to show exactly how you want the layers to look. Sometimes, seeing the movement and length in action can help your stylist understand the look you're going for. Remember, it's all about communication and finding the right stylist who gets your vision. I'm sure you'll rock that style beautifully! Keep me posted on your hair journey!❤️😊
Oh if only we hairstylists could take off our heads and do our own hair! We would all be so much happier. 😂 your model looks gorgeous. That cut is so flattering.

I love this hair style if I could only find a stylist like this one that could do it.u tell them what u want and even take a picture of the way u cut it and style it and I still can't find anyone that can do it
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 Finding the right stylist can be a challenge, but don't give up! It's all about communication and finding someone who understands your vision. Bringing pictures is a great start, and sometimes it helps to ask for recommendations from friends or even check out online reviews. If you're ever in my area, I'd love to help you achieve that perfect hairstyle! 💇♀️Keep experimenting and you'll find the right match soon. Stay fabulous! ❤️❤️
That's the cut I've been trying to get for over a year. I haven't found anyone that understands. I call that feathering, not sure it's right. I have fine hair and have thinning spots but still want that haircut. You are amazing.
Thank you for your kind words! ❤️Feathering is indeed a technique that can add texture and volume, especially beneficial for fine hair with thinning spots. It's all about creating a soft, layered look that enhances your natural hair texture. If you're considering trying this style, make sure to communicate clearly with your stylist about the look you want to achieve. Feel free to share my video with them for reference! Keep embracing your unique hair journey, and remember, you're amazing too! ❤️❤️💇

I love when the 2nd side was being cut to frame the face she first said you dont want to cut from top down ,u cut from bottom up...then as a miss-cut all of a sudden its ok to cut from the top down...
Thank you for catching that moment! 😊 Hair cutting techniques can sometimes be flexible depending on the situation. While the general rule is to cut from the bottom up to maintain control and precision, there are times when cutting from the top down can help correct a misalignment or achieve a specific style. It's all about adapting to the needs of the hair and the desired outcome. I appreciate your keen observation and hope you continue to enjoy the tips and tricks shared on the channel! ❤️❤️
That's the way I used to get my hair cut. But it turned curly on me these last few years. There's no way to have that cut without having to heat style it all the time. It dries out too much using heat all the time. It's a cute cut!

Thank you for your feedback! 😊 The layers in this tutorial are designed to offer a modern twist on the classic Farrah and Jaclyn styles, which can sometimes mean shorter layers for added volume and movement. @@bettybennett1828I'm with you Betty. I was wondering how I was going to say it without being too critical because she got a good haircut. Here's what I think happened. The lady cut her own hair and in the back you can see the chop portion. With a Farrah cut all the hair should be over directed to the front. She couldn't do that with the big chop.

Whatever happened to not cutting past the second knuckle? I got my license in 1984 and that was always emphasized but I see all stylists here on you tube doing it.
It’s true, there are many different approaches to haircuts, and it's exciting to see how styles continue to evolve! 💇♀️ Please consider subscribing to my channel. It would make my day.
I'm pretty sure that rule is to keep beginners from cutting their knuckle. Once you've been cutting for a long time, the scissors become an extension of your hand.
Beautiful light fluffy cut. My mom used to cut my hair like that. When I was a kid. I was fortunate to learn those cuts growing up. Was not something we learned in school. I now have done my own just recently like this again. I love how easy it is for me to wash and go. Let it air dry. If I want, I can always put curlers in And let it air dry for more organized curl. Or used blow drier or hot tools. On occasion. My hair is thinner and doesn't need as much texturizing and thinning. It is like the haircuts of the 70s & 80s. But all good things come back in style. It is not a mullet. As a mullet is disconnected cut. This is a nice soft blend. Yes it can be done longer. But it's all things. The best cuts suit your hair type and face shape, as well as your personal hair routines.
Thank you so much for sharing your hair journey and memories with us! It's amazing how certain styles can bring back such fond memories and they evolve with us over time. The beauty of a light, fluffy cut is truly timeless, and it's wonderful to hear how you've adapted it to suit your lifestyle and hair type. You're absolutely right-great styles always find their way back into fashion, and it's all about finding what works best for you. Whether you're letting it air dry for that effortless look or adding some curls for a bit of flair, it sounds like you've mastered the art of personalizing your style. Keep rocking that beautiful blend, and thank you for being part of our community! ❤️❤️❤️
Right. My mom made me get a Dorothy Hamil pixie from jr high in the late 70's to my first year of high school. 🙃 I begged her to let me grow my hair out-she did for a year then said, "What are we doing with your hair?" I asked for a Farrah Fawcett feathered haircut. She had no idea what I was talking about. We went to JC Penny, who had hairdressers then. The girl knew exactly what I wanted, and I had my Farrah haircut. I kept my hair that way for about 30 years until menopause, stress from the death of my husband, grays, and thinning killed my hair. All of that rocks your confidence. I'm afraid to let anyone touch my hair 😕 but somethings got to give. Like they said take care of yourself.
Love watching other pros cut and color!! FYI (and she may have already mentioned this): do not attempt this exact method of face frame on someone w fine hair and/or lack of density in their hairline- that is how people get holes in their layers/face frame!!! Ask me how I know 😂❤
Thanks for the tip! I always try to encourage people to be mindful of their hair type and texture, and I'll definitely make sure to emphasize this in future videos. ❤️
@coach-kimmy you're doing great! I've been contemplating making videos myself. Any tips on getting educated as to how to begin? (I've been in the industry for 25 years! When I started, social media didn't even exist! I'm trying to grow w the times!!)

It sounds like you've found a gem in your current hairdresser! 💇♂️ It's all about that trust and communication, right? Your experience is a great reminder for everyone to keep searching until they find that perfect match. Nice costume, dark hair looks good on you Kimmy‼️
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! ❤️❤️❤️
I like a shorter top but full, layered sides that I can blow out or scrunch or let aor dry
My days are long, 7- 730am start to whenever I finish
12 - 14 hour days.
As a seasoned hairstylist with over 30 years of experience, I completely understand the frustration of not getting the haircut you desire. I strive to provide expert tips and industry secrets to help everyone achieve salon-quality results at home. Your comment highlights the importance of experience and understanding in hairstyling, which is something I emphasize in my videos.
I used to get that layered and feathered style when i was a hs freshman back in 1984.
That sounds like a classic hairstyle! Did you have a favorite way of styling it, or were there any trends at that time you particularly liked?
@coach-kimmy curling irons were essential 😂
She looks great!
Good job Kim! ❤
Thank you so much, please subscribe and share. ❤️❤️
This is a pie shape that we were taught in the 80s and you are so great. I love the modern basic!!!
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊
It's amazing how timeless styles can be reimagined for today's trends. Your support means the world to me, and I'm excited to keep sharing more hair inspiration with you!
I love this haircut!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the love and support, please subscribe and share this video. ❤️❤️❤️💇♀️
💯♥️
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 I'm thrilled to hear that you found the video both educational and enjoyable. It's always a bit nerve-wracking when it looks like a lot of hair is being cut, but understanding the technique behind thinning out sections can make all the difference. I'm glad you appreciated the timeless style we achieved. Your support means the world to me, and I hope to continue bringing you more stunning hair transformations! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank You so much! ❤️❤️❤️
Great cut! You obviously know what you're doing.
Even if she doesn't blow it out like that every day, it will still look really cute with her natural curl. If she doesn't want to take the time to blow it out or doesn't have the skill, she can always use a hair tool that makes styling it really easy. The are some great ones out there.
Agreed, a great cut should work with natural hair texture, not against it! 😊
Looks GREAT!! I LOVE that cut!! That's what I always want but no one seems to be able to cut it like that!
I'm so glad you love it! I think it's a really flattering style! 💖💖
Oh how I wish I had a head of hair like that!! So thick & shiney! Love the cut. Beautiful!!
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you like it. A good haircut can make such a difference, right? Do you have a favorite style?
@coach-kimmy thank u so much! I will definitely do that!!
It is a joy watching you cut hair! I will trust you 100% with my hair!😊

I really love how you framed her face, and what you did with the back of her hair thinning it. Really nice. The haircut you did is what I've asked for, but never gotten. Nice work!
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊
It's always my goal to deliver the haircut that my clients and viewers have been dreaming of, and I'm glad I could achieve that for you through this video.
I have shown my Stylist pics and videos of this style and she only layers the top and sides and the layers are never short enough…
Then the back of my hair is too long which I don’t want anymore!! I only want the “appearance of length!”
I want this Awesome 80’s style with ALL the Layers!!! 👍🌟❤️
I’m 49 now and I hope I can get my hair cut like this FINALLY?!!!

Finding the right stylist can be a challenge, but don't give up! ❤️❤️
Her hairstyle looks fabulous…❤❤
Thank You so much!
Finally and old school cutter !
I wish I could find you in my area 😊. Nobody can cut my hair like I like it. Next time I'm going to ask for a beach ball cut!
Hey there! 🌟 I'm thrilled to hear you're on the hunt for the perfect haircut! A 'beach ball cut' sounds like a fun and unique style-definitely something to try if you're feeling adventurous! Can a person with thin hair have this cut ?
Yes, a person with thin hair can definitely have that cut! It's all about how the style is tailored to your hair type.
Where are you located??? I need some one like you to help me with my hair!! Your Amazing
I've been looking for this cut for a very long time. Thankful I saw yours. 🙏🙏🙏
You're welcome! I'm glad I could help! 🙂
It's stunning it's incredible it's superior indeed 👊🏾
Wow!!! Thank you so much!
That's the way I used to get my hair cut. But it turned curly on me these last few years. There's no way to have that cut without having to heat style it all the time. It dries out too much using heat all the time. It's a cute cut!
Hey there! ❤️
It's amazing how hair can change over time, isn't it? Curly hair can definitely be a challenge, especially when it comes to styling and keeping it healthy. Have you tried any of the tips from my channel, for maintaining those curls without excessive heat? Fabulous haircut ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
This is like my haircut, sits really well not heavy, but mine is a bit more curly. ❤❤❤
That sounds great! Curly hair can add a nice bounce and volume. Do you style it in any particular way?
Awesome! ❤❤❤
I wish we could see stylists cut problematic hair like hair loss on top and very fine thinning hair.
Beautiful hair and beautiful cut on this lady. ❤
Me too! I have always been known for my great hair but over the past year or year and a half it has thinned out considerably especially on top. When my hair is done you can still see my scalp in a lot of places. It is depressing.
Omg I had my hair thin out like that and I hated it. It's very thick and grows very fast. When I dye it with in days you can see the gray coming out.
wow! What a great cut. beautiful

For doing the Farrah or even Jacklyn's cut these layers r too short
Thank you for your feedback! 😊
The layers in this tutorial are designed to offer a modern twist on the classic Farrah and Jaclyn styles, which can sometimes mean shorter layers for added volume and movement. If you're aiming for a more traditional look, you might want to keep the layers longer. Let me know if you have any other questions or need more tips!
@coach-kimmy thank u for responding...sorry, I misunderstood. I thought this was supposed to be a replica of their styles not a twist
You seem to have a real passion for your profession.

Whatever happened to not cutting past the second knuckle? I got my license in 1984 and that was always emphasized but I see all stylists here on you tube doing it.
It’s true, there are many different approaches to haircuts, and it's exciting to see how styles continue to evolve! 💇♀️
Please consider subscribing to my channel. It would make my day.
I'm pretty sure that rule is to keep beginners from cutting their knuckle. Once you've been cutting for a long time, the scissors become an extension of your hand.
I think the cuts were more precision in the early 80's. Now the cuts are about shape and balance, not so much about accuracy and precision.
Bravo! It's beautiful!💚🕯🙏
Thank you so much!❤️😇
I LOVE IT!!! Gonna do this to my hair
Beautiful light fluffy cut. My mom used to cut my hair like that. When I was a kid. I was fortunate to learn those cuts growing up. Was not something we learned in school. I now have done my own just recently like this again. I love how easy it is for me to wash and go. Let it air dry. If I want, I can always put curlers in
And let it air dry for more organized curl.
I want that style
That’s great news, do you have an hairdresser that can help you get it?
You can share this video with your hairdresser
@coach-kimmy I'm sure she could do it 😊
That’s great, go for it 👍
This is exactly what I want with my hair, but can't find a hairdresser to do it here. 😢
I'm thrilled to hear that you love the hairstyle. It can be challenging to find the right stylist who understands your vision. If you're open to it, I can share some tips on how to communicate your desired look to your hairdresser or even guide you through a DIY approach with one of my tutorials. Remember, it's all about feeling confident and loving your hair! 💇❤️
I'm saying, where are the good ones?? Hollywood??
I'm growing my hair out and that's the haircut I need. I have a face that needs bangs. I've tried hairstyles without bangs but I just don't look right!!

I like it, hope that 1st haircut suits me!
I'm glad you liked it! I hope you'll give this look a try and post a photo in the comments. 😊
