This is the 21-day hands-on skills boot camp for the Online Firefighter Recruit Academy the online course and their experience. The Online Firefighter Academy is designed for those that may not have the time to commit to the traditional face-to-face training academy but still want the best hands-on training available anywhere. Do firehalls prefer when candidates went thru the full 12 week course rather than the quick bootcamp?

The certificate that the firefighters receive does not distinguish between on-line and face-to-face. It only says the person is a certified firefighter. So the only way that a fire department would know what type of academy you attended is if they asked and you told them. There used to be opinions that the face-to-face were better trained but that belief is changing. A lot depends on the on-line academy and the training that they receive during the bootcamp. The students receive their didactic learning from the same textbook. One is self-taught and the other is instructor taught. The test questions are chosen from the same test bank.
