Korath and Ronan were both in the 1st Guardian movie, Korath met Quill in the opening act at the temple with the power stone, Ronan was the “big bad”. Drax ended Korath by pulling out his cybernetics on his head saying “ finger to the throat means death”. lol
13:44 I know someone is going to comment that it was an improvised moment that Samuel L. Jackson did but can we appreciate Ben Mendelsohn's ability to adapt in the moment and add a comedic flair to it.
Funniest thing is so many people (reactors and reg viewers alike) watched Guardians before this…saw That man talking to Ronan and still didn’t realize they were the bad guys 😂
The problem with the way she acted was because of her character. The character wasn't supposed to show emotion. So she played the character written for her. You should see her in Kong Skull Island. Totally different person.
I can't upvote this enough. She's supposed to be a fighter jock who would be at home in Top Gun, turned commando explicitly trained to suppress her emotions. People criticizing Larson for not being more emotional are criticizing her for how the character was written. I thought the smug reserve she played the part with was perfect.
@Alfonso88279 blame stan Lee. That's how she is in the comic. Not that I'm disagreeing with you. I didn't think that the character should've been that way either.
Carol is so powerful because she got two doses of Tesseract energy. The first was when the lightspeed engine exploded. The second was directly from the Tesseract when she got out of the restraints on the spaceship. The only other character on her level is Wanda/Scarlet Witch, who got her powers from the Mind Stone. Agent's of Shield picks up directly after the first Avengers film, and follows a team that deals with less apocalyptic threats. It is tied to the films for the first couple of seasons, then veers off onto its own timeline. The first season deals with how Coulson is alive after the Battle of New York. Without spoilers, keep in mind the helicarrier had a really good medical team aboard, and it was close to New York City and all its medical facilities. Coulson did die, in the sense his heart stopped after getting stabbed by Loki. So technically Fury wasn't lying to the Avengers team. But what happens after isn't covered in the film. For that matter, Fury "died" in the Winter Soldier not long afterwards.
If you want to see more of Coulson, you can watch Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D where he is the director of a special ops team. The series is really good and definitely worth the watch!
No, he has Cameos in Marvel shows.... where he is a background fluff thing that nerds SQUEEEE about. In Mallrats he's an important character, who drives the plot forward by motivating Brody.
Nice. This is a great movie. Lots of the newbie MCU fans ripped on this one, but us old school comic book nerds knew that this was a great entry. Having Thanos as the big baddie in a story arc required a character with some serious power. So here we are. Easily top 5 MCU for me.
And they ripped on it for all the wrong reasons. They took a quote from a Larson interview and twisted it, using it out of context, trying to make her come off as some man hater. It was ridiculous.
Gotta disagree with both you guys old school comic book fans ripped on this Heavily. Hell if your an old school fan you remember when Captain Marvel was a man both in Marvel and D.C.
Was waiting for this to drop to have dinner tonight. I love Captain Marvel, and I like the Mohawk look. The reason she never gets mentioned before is because the movie wasn’t planned or written yet. They didn’t know how well these films were going to take off when they started. In fact, this CAPTAIN MARVEL movie was written and filmed after Larson shot all her ENDGAME scenes. All they planned was Carol’s friendship with Fury. When I saw this in theaters. There was this cute moment after the movie with a small, old lady. Taking the elevator down and she said, “They should make more movies like that.” She smiled when I told her Captain Marvel would be in more movies.
10:38 so it took seeing young Fury and Coulson to realize this was the past? The Blockbuster Video, filled with 90s VHS tapes, a RadioShack, and a payphone, weren't dead giveaways?
Mohawk is only one of her looks. Steve Rogers is U.S. Army, Carol Danvers is U.S. Air Force (same rank but she probably earned it rather then Steve getting "field promotion"). Didn't show the post credit scene with Goose, hope you watched it.
@@AscendedXSaiyan Army and Air Force use the same officer rank names, so a captain is the same in either one. Navy on the other hand, is different. A captain in the navy would outrank both of them.

At the time, they were loosely planning an interim movie that would take place before Guardians of the Galaxy. It fell through and left that unresolved moment in this movie. I agree with you that it never should have been put in there since they never followed up on it.
At the end of the film, Carol tells Yon-Rogg she's coming back to end it, presumably Kree attacks on other planets. In Guardians 1 we found out the Kree had signed a treaty with the Nova Corps. You can infer they did so because Carol beat them up and forced them to come to terms. Ronan, though, is a fanatic, and refuses to stop "curing" other planets. So he's been doing that and never got back to Earth, and Carol wasn't on Earth anyway. She's been out helping the Skrulls find a home and other interstellar problems.

I find this and eternals very underrated marvel movies
Oh... Oh dear... Kristen, that's not what the shocker is... (6:00 )
can we get Steph or Achara to watch Endgame with Kristen (for emotional support)
This is in my top 8 movies of the MCU. It’s okay if it’s not YOUR favorite or not the favorite for the majority. But for me she’s my fav MCU female and for me Brie did perfectly well and I don’t give a flurken if anyone else doesn’t. I don’t agree with anyone who says it’s try hard OR not feminine in the right way. I will forever love everything about it. My Captain Marvel tshirt is the only MCU merch I own due to this very reason . Idgaf about others
Yeah, I like how she is a villain and doesn't even know it. Like when she destroys the bars' property and assaults and steals cause someone told her to smile.
