Since 1999, when I accidentally came across Jackie Chan's 'Mr Nice Guy' on cable TV, I go online everyday and spend at least an hour watching any fight scene I could find. I literally became (overnight) a martial arts fanatic. Watching fan-made, reshoots, amateurish, & of course, clips from my favourite flicks, is a daily thing in my book. This is the best channel/work I've seen in ages; choreography, production, concept, & even humour wise. Great job Mr. Jacobus, your bruises are highly appreciated. A big shoutout from Egypt!
***** Omar is my brother, actually he's been the one who introduced me to this clip, and since then, i became hooked! Very good job! That's exactly what i enjoy. It's funny, it's real, it's very entertaining. And you sir.. you got great talent! Keep up! Cheers!
I dunno man but i think i watched him mimic different fighting styles of tekken characters a few years back may be? This guy was splendid back then he is even better now! Loved it
Sometimes I think that action film production made a wrong turn somewhere. They put so much money into production, yet when it comes to fight scenes... eh.
Finally, the son Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris never had! Great work man. The creative premise. The humor. The fighting sequences. It’s even inspirational if one is the right mood.
This has Jackie Chan written all over it. Great fights, comedy, just made by a couple of dudes back in 2013. Amazing movie, high quality! Thank you for sharing.
came here from trailer where the top comment was about this film. i thought it would just be a trailer of some kind but now ive seen it all and its WOW. well done mates.
That headbutt at 3:30 had me dying. You could see the wheels turning for a second beforehand. "Should I, Shouldn't I? My hands are full." Zero to sixty headbutt incoming lmao
So THIS... is the video I've been recommended to watch, huh... First off, I wanna praise the cameraman's job, especially that moment at 9:03. And then, the rest of this amazing thing - I see now that answering to 1 year old comments about a street fighter Real Life version of moves leads to greatness, lol. Anyway! Thanks a ton, you and your team, for making this. I have greatly enjoyed both the concept - which I'm glad to be familiar with - and the Jackie Chan-styled action and facial reaction/body language is just... spot on. So yeah! Thanks.
Outstanding! So fun to watch. Came here from Boss Level trailer. 😎👍👏🏼 BTW this is exactly how celebrities get in shape and learn to fight for their films, because they get paid to train for hours and hours a day for 3 months. I shoulda became an actor like I wanted to all those years ago. 🤪
Very good really really very good, it's hard to see such a well made fight scene like this even in Hollywood huge budget movies, the end remembered me Jackie Chan filme when he uses objects around to hit the enemies, congratulations really well done
Scott Adkins Art of Action brought me here (Literally when he suggested to stop the interview an watch, so I did). I cannot believe I've never seen this. From watching partially way through Ep44 of TAoA We can now see what you have achieved. A perfect recommendation from Scott. This was brilliant and I can't wait to watch more from your channel. On to Rope A Dope 2...
I love how the guy with the vest is always carrying a comb ROFL!!! I must have watched this at least 20 or 30 times. Pure awesome. As I father, I can tell you that little boy had the time of his life being in a movie, even if it's a RUclips short. Now that is so cool!
Just watched Dope 2 and 1, and I love how much this feels like a cross between an old LucasArts adventure game, and Streets of Rage. Your ability to draw on martial comedy classics is already impressive, but capturing the carefree absurdity of the arcade really brings this the extra mile.
I'm absolutely blown away to the point where I have to comment to let you guys know how incredible this short was (and I haven't done that in years). I really got a kick out of the little Jackie Chan prop fighting you included. Keep up the amazing work!
Gran ,gran trabajo. Tu estilo es muy parecido al de jackie chan buenas coreografias buenos efectos y excelente trama felicitaciones es un trabajo impecable
I seriously, seriously, SERIOUSLY wish you guys were in movies. I absolutely hate shakey cam. Thank you so much for having amazing fight scenes and always keeping them fresh.
Wow, what a treasure this video/"mini movie" is! Loved the "Clint Eastwood don't fuck with me" look at 6:21 Stumbled upon this when seaching for groundhog day like movies from a blog and someone copied the link. Why has this only got 142000 views?
These fighting scenes seemed much more realistic than most movies out today. You can tell the main character is actually a martial arts fighter like myself. None of those over dramatic facial expressions. Nice camera angles as well. Well done!
Dude.. THIS IS SO GOOD! Probably your best work yet! I hardly stopped laughing for a second. The dust in the face was beautiful! And the ending was perfect. Killed me. Bravo, guys.
So much better than Mortal Kombat! You guys are one of my favorite groups, love how you blend the comedy in and always reminds me of Jackie Chan style fights.
ROPE-A-DOPE is an astonshing piece of work folks! I've watched it 10 times now, and am still laughing, cheering, and inspired to film some more action with my crew. Just all around superior story telling. Please enter this at the AOF (Action On Film) festival, you guys will own the podium.....not that it's all about the award. Once again, THANK YOU for the incredible work!
Still love watching these videos, I even have my name rope-a-dope as my steam name when I play CSGO and have them linked in my profile and tell people in game to watch the videos when they ask why my name is rope-a-dope.
Outstanding! thanks for uploading I'm thankful that I got the chance to see this at comic con and even more thankful that I get to see it again, keep up the amazing work I look forward to the next one.
Gnarliest group brawl ever! You guys get better with each vid. Eric vs Dennis vs Lorenz! Hollywood wishes they could have you guys and all of stuntpeople for their films. Your vids are far superior than any Hollywood fights I've seen in a long time. Love the Chan like comedy tributes throughout, and how at the end Dennis goes Ken Lo and Eric almost, ALMOST... goes Donnie Yen. Amazingly great stuff, guys. You make the world that much better. Keep em' coming.
Eric Jacobus & Dennis Ruel, these two guys & their team choreographed stunts for Hindi Movie called Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (The Man Who Feels No Pain), got to know about this short film through Cast and Crew Q&A | TIFF 2018 clip. This Vasan Bala's movie will be amazing for sure.
In action films, more often than not, simplicity is best. You have a simple premise and a clear conflict. Dude gets beaten up by a gang, everytime he's knocked out time rewinds back and gets beaten up again. He decides to get better at fighting again and again to fend off the gang.
I love the videos of this guy! Even for me that i'm a aficionate, well now i don't do much. Eric if you can hear me go on and don't do anything vulgar just keep the spirit. Good job.
Oh, but that is exactly the charm of short films! With a low budget and DIY methods, filmmakers have to push their creativity to its limits. Fuck Hollywood!
this guy needs waaay more views
yes
So does vjvlad nartial arts action channels are underrated for some reason.
I found this video in 2020
@@DuniaTrollAnda found it on 2021
Happy Groundhog Day.
I feel like I've already done this...
part 3?
We're so glad people on RUclips are learning that some movies aren't real, just acting. Brings a tear to our eyes.
Now THIS is what I Call AMAZING ! Few martial arts movies got me this pumped up since the 80s ones
Since 1999, when I accidentally came across Jackie Chan's 'Mr Nice Guy' on cable TV, I go online everyday and spend at least an hour watching any fight scene I could find. A big shoutout from Egypt!
Thanks Omar, so glad you can get your fix from our channel. More to come!
***** Omar is my brother, actually he's been the one who introduced me to this clip, and since then, i became hooked! Very good job! That's exactly what i enjoy. It's funny, it's real, it's very entertaining. And you sir.. you got great talent! Keep up! Cheers!
Thank you too!
Best freaking short film ever
6 years ago, still enjoy it up till now
I dunno man but i think i watched him mimic different fighting styles of tekken characters a few years back may be? This guy was splendid back then he is even better now! Loved it
I'm gonna start putting tutorials on my personal channel at /ericjacobus make sure you sub there, more behind the scenes stuff there soon too!
That paper boy is just out to get you.
Really well done, and the Foley is on point --- 8:25 that guy comes back to the fight still combing his hair --- funny.
even in hong kong they dont make such fight scenes anymore, great job folks
Sometimes I think that action film production made a wrong turn somewhere. They put so much money into production, yet when it comes to fight scenes... eh.
I still can't believe how this masterpiece of a video doesn't have like a gizzillion views
Finally, the son Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris never had! Great work man. The creative premise. The humor. The fighting sequences. It’s even inspirational if one is the right mood.
Contour team!!! Been following this team since 2007.
you are officially my favorite actor/stuntman...funny, awesome, creative...and impossible to tell your age.
This has Jackie Chan written all over it. Great fights, comedy, just made by a couple of dudes back in 2013. Amazing movie, high quality! Thank you for sharing.
The best martial arts video in the history of Earth!
came here from trailer where the top comment was about this film. i thought it would just be a trailer of some kind but now ive seen it all and its WOW.
well done mates.
Source of inspiration for The Man Who Feels No Pain. After watching this, cannot wait to check the movie.
This is without a doubt some of the best content on RUclips
All these years later and still one of my favorites
I will still come back to this vid for fight inspirations
This was by far the best fight scene you guys have done. The more I watch the better you guys get.
So happy I can finally share this with people you guys. Really hope this blows up. It's the best short film I've ever seen.
It's funny how a short film with no words has better storywriting than many big budget films in Hollywood
Top notch choreo. Well done all around.
Best action short film ive ever seen
That headbutt at 3:30 had me dying. You could see the wheels turning for a second beforehand. "Should I, Shouldn't I? My hands are full." Zero to sixty headbutt incoming lmao
Mr. Adkins sent me. Great stuff!
omg a white Jackie Chan! gj man!

Eric this is the best fighting video in RUclips so far
How does this not have a million views?!
Can't believe this video has been around this long and I've not seen it until now. Awesome!!
Its a shame this doesn't have not even 1million views, this guy should work for Hollywood
I just found this via Mr Adkins interview. Awesome stuff man 👌
Why doesn’t this video have a million views? I mean come on this is great stuff here
Watch a lot of times. Eric Jacobus - best stunt choreographers of our time. His view with the style of Jackie Chan. Need to shoot a great movie.
why cant I stop watching this I been here for three hours
Better than anything old man Chan has done in 30 years plus, excellent 80's style HK pub-work
Amazing! I found this thanks to Polygon's article on Eric's work as Kratos' mocap!
Outstanding! So fun to watch. Came here from Boss Level trailer. 😎👍👏🏼

Eric I watched your interview with Scott Adkins and I tell you it was brilliant and this is amazing.
Congratulations, Mr. Jacobus, you're like the a perfect hybrid of Scott Adkins and Bruce Campbell!
I think he's more of a Bruce Campbell Jackie Chan hybrid. He's got a lot of comedy in his fighting
True dat.
Wow this is amazing when he ducked down while being held reminded me of me when I was being rushed when I was in high school but man this is top tier.
Doubt
I love how the guy with the vest is always carrying a comb ROFL!!! I must have watched this at least 20 or 30 times. Pure awesome. As I father, I can tell you that little boy had the time of his life being in a movie, even if it's a RUclips short. Now that is so cool!

Found this because of your appearance in The Art of Action. I was expecting to be entertained, but not to such a degree! Excellent work.
That was great! What a gift for physical comedy. Love how you run at 6:38 LOL
I'm absolutely blown away to the point where I have to comment to let you guys know how incredible this short was (and I haven't done that in years). I really got a kick out of the little Jackie Chan prop fighting you included. Keep up the amazing work!
What a masterpiece!!!

How does this not have millions of views? This is amazing guys, 10/10!
this is the best movie I've seen
but 5 years have passed all the same the best
This is absolutely incredible. Low key the best channel on RUclips right now.
The art off taking turns to beat up the protagonist instead of all attacking him at the same time.
A very noble art indeed.
That first punch was awesome. So funny how he slide down the wall with his face. A+ sirs, A+ indeed.
I seriously, seriously, SERIOUSLY wish you guys were in movies. I absolutely hate shakey cam. Thank you so much for having amazing fight scenes and always keeping them fresh.
Great work!!!-instant classic!
Wow, what a treasure this video/"mini movie" is!

Great storytelling through action! I love this.
The best motivation!!!!!!!!!!!
This film/channel came highly recommended to me by a buddy named Nate (aka "Chops"). Glad he did it too. This is a terrific accomplishment.
This was absolutly awesome - everyone who worked on this should be proud! Love to work with you guys one day!
Fun, funny fun! Loved the fight scenes.

Ya know what? You guys may very well be the absolute BEST thing on RUclips period. I love you for this video. Thank you.
The twist at the end is gold.

Still love watching these videos, I even have my name rope-a-dope as my steam name when I play CSGO and have them linked in my profile and tell people in game to watch the videos when they ask why my name is rope-a-dope.
I like how it's Choreographed
Excellent work brother!
This is perfect.

Damn how did I miss this! This is amazing lol. A perpetual fight and a metaphor for training/never give up. They are still fighting now.
Very reminiscent of early Jackie Chan movies, especially Wheels on Meals. Loved it!
I see a lot of Jackie Chan choreography in the fight scenes. Good work.
Came here from Magic Clap. Nice work.
