Ken's vote for Jon in final 3 was crazy. Evil had already won at this point, because they had 3 of the 6 remaining votes, but Ken gave good a theoretical chance to win.
I see Sullivan, Ken, Jon, and Holly, and I don't even need to see the roles or anything to know this is already going to be a trip.
Ken is the best at being obviously evil with the double bluff. Great game
John always does this. He has the ending of the game on 100% lock, but he plays it out like an angsty townsfolk. 😀
This seems like such a fun crowd, definitely a great way to get my BOTC fix!

A new BOTC channel? What a steal! My love for this game has remained strong since I found it 6 months ago and I don’t know if I can even count how many games I’ve watched at this point since then. I was so lucky to get the physical grimoire this Christmas and it’s always good seeing people run the considered “beginner” edition since I hope to use what I watch to help conduct my own games in the future! Maybe one day I can run a group this big but for now Im fine working up from teensyville haha

That was a really great first game! I'm glad you provided an edited version, I started watching the VOD of the livestream but didn't really have time to commit to the full 3+ hours.
The newer players were really entertaining and had some solid social reads, so I'm excited to see how they go once they're more experienced with the game.
Thanks! Yes ... hopefully I'll get more efficient with paring it down... I'd love to be able to give a "30 minute game" version of every livestream although it's challenging to see what you need to keep in to tell the "story" of the game
Honestly I don't mind this length, it's perfect. If the games are shorter (1-2hr) I wouldn't mind watching the full thing either to be honest @@NoobsontheGooftower

This just popped up on my recommended after an NRB video. Great to see more from them, mainly seeing everyone try to deal with the chaos incarnate who some know as Ken.

This was such a great example of a game involving new players. First of all, hats off to Acardo for immediately knowing to protect the outed good, I've seen many players not understand how a virgin works. Or just try to protect powerful roles rather than confirmed spent ones. Also their social reads were really good.
I think the main thing that lacked was people ignoring information and relying solely on social reads. I think the chef 1 especially could've had that game in the bag for good, but Raquel didn't really manage to get a word in. Also the fortune teller no on bennet and sully was such vital info at final 5.
Either way, it was a great showcase of how to win as evil, and how the game's logical aspect is just as important as the social!
What a great game. I'm so glad to see another channel running these. BOTC is a fantastic game to listen to, even if it's far too chaotic for me to enjoy playing it myself
Mara speaks the truth! I've been watching both storyteller and player point of views for months. I tried my first online game and got soldier and no one would let me self-nominate. The second game, however, is when I was the drunk undertaker, and as it was my first info role, I was very excited to share my info, only to find out everyone knew after N2 that I was drunk. Third, I was the sage, and of course I made it to final three. I thought I knew who the demon was, but when I nominated them the entire game told me I just lost the game. I didn't lose. But it kinda soured me on playing, and now I'm back to just watching. As an improv performer and drag jester, I think I would play the game well, but maybe I need to play either with my friends or with a gardener to make sure I didn't get a role that doesn't eff me over.
I also love the collision of Dropout cast (And yes, Chris, I recognize you from Play It By Ear!) and NRB. I was a little worried that The Troubles (wait, probably shouldn't call it that, with them from England and all) would keep them from playing BotC ever again. It's good to know I was wrong.
I'm sorry to hear you are soured on playing. BOTC is so much fun with the right community. There's a bunch of really good ones out there that you can join through discord. I hope you find the right one.

This was a great game, I watched the live stream. Does need background music in my opinion. Love the cast you threw together.
Can you elaborate? I've seen streams and I always wonder why they put on this generic boring background music (since they can't risk a copyright strike). I'm open to the idea, just not sure why it's necessary and I feel like a lot of people do it because everyone else is doing it.
If I did add it, I am definitely not adding the bland techno music a lot of people use.

Nice game! Mara at times gave a little too much during narrations, like saying "the game continues, the executed player was not the demon!" Or "Your neighbors have changed" to a (Drunk) Empath who at the time would only know of one new neighbor
Yeah, sorry about that. I'm not used to talking to playersduring the nightl ike that, especially for the benefit of trying to make it entertaining for stream, so might have been a bit too wordy. I tried to correct myself with Bennett by immediately saying that one of his neighbours was dead and then figured that he'd find out when he woke up anyway, but it's something I'll keep an eye on in future.
As for saying "the executed palyer was not the Demon" sometimes I'll say that when I know full well they are the Demon, passing to Scarlet Woman, so I implore my players to meta me on that, haha. :p
Everyone thinking Sully is Spy confirming dead Joseph, is not what I would have thought. I would have presumed Joseph was dead Spy and Sully was other evil.

I don't understand why Jon slow rolls so much when he wins games. I know he is not trying to taunt or anything, but it could annoy other people he plays with.
these are great, even placed in comparison to NRB as my 'pinnacle' of BOTC presentations. Thanks for pulling these together!
i did have a few suggestions to make them even better:
1. I am not sure if it is the accent or what, but sometimes I have a hard time understanding Mara - many times she says a lot of words very very quickly and I can't decipher them all, to the point where I don't understand what she is saying! This is most important when she's a storyteller. I lose half of the gameplay explanations and rationale for decisions when this happens.
2. the audio levels are different for each person sometimes. i find myself constantly changing the volume.
3. even having watched all the NRB BOTC episodes, I still need a reminder of what each character does. is it possible for you to review each character's abilities during the set up? we can always skip it if we know it already...it's just so handy to see the abilities and how each character may interact with the others.
4. i don't need music, as others have suggested. I'm so engrossed i didn't even notice the lack of background!
