    That was a great roll, and I never try anything fancy. I’m not super mobile, and I just work on the five moves I like, and I try to make them work every time, abs if they don’t that’s ok too. I luv Jiujitsu, and I have the best time win or loose. Thanks for another great video.

      Ya don't spin if your hips and ankle are isolated. Meaning they can't move. Gotta time it I for when they're adjusting or taking their grip.

    I've found my favourite place to finish from is after a snap down, my chest on their back kinda thing not sure what that's called. But I've been working on neckties and a kinda modified guillotine and it seems to be my best way to deal with much stronger and heavier partners

    My favorite submission as of right now is a triangle choke arm at combination. If you can complete a flying triangle and transfer to an arm at combination, style points have been earned lol.

    Still white belt so favorite technique is surviving! Fav attack Americana. That said lately the guillotine seems to fall in place, but can only finish it with new people. That said I got it set up on a a purple belt, and he said that it was really good but I gave up on it to quickly. So a little hope there.

    Love that arm trap from the back off of the opponents post. Was working that before I went out with the coof for a few weeks, came back and went right back to it tonight and was able to finally pull it off successfully and get the choke. Big moment for me since I'm the whitest of the white belts lol. Of course this was all before I completely gassed in 3 mins and reverted back to guard lol

      I honestly only have mediocre stamina. Alex has an insane gas tank though. I just roll a lot but if i wanted to increase it I would do some slow and steady runs and intervals.

    With the single leg x Alex had on you, is there a reason why he dindn't control the leg with overhook and keep working the single leg x sweep.

      To me it looks like he was looking for heal exposure to work a heal hook rather then work single leg X

      @@JordanTeachesJiujitsu got it. In that instance do you still use the philosophy position (control) before submission. Or, is it more effective to go straight for the heel hook? I am a blue belt, but I am very detailed oriented, so I apologize in advance for the multitude of questions. Thank you for this content its nice too see live use of techniques especially gains high level partners.

      Really shows you what a factor 50lbs+ difference between the two of you can make. Although size isn't everything. It definitely matters!

    Because of your videos, I've started working on controlling grips. Even as a one-stripe white belt, none of the other white belts have managed to put me into dangerous positions within the last week because of it.

      your channel and the channel of brian Glick are awesome.
      I love it that you start standing because i love takedowns and you are really good ad it,would love to see some setups,high percentage,under/overhook takedown type of content
      Like how to get the underhook and what to do from there on etc. i know you touched on the subject in a couple of breakdowns but a clear “system “ from standing would be AMAZING!

    In the rare occasion I find myself in mount, I like the arm triangle. However most finishes tend to be an arm bar. Great work again.

    This is awesome. Question: How much of this are you actively thinking of in the moment, and how much of it is muscle memory/doing things automatically because you've drilled it so often?

      Almost entirely muscle memory. Especially when I roll more reactionary. But guard passing for example is more active than reactive so I'll have to think more.

    I can attest to Alex's beastliness on the mats as well. He's an absolute monster; strong as heck, talented and has a huge gas tank! That Kimura trap was awesome! Watched that over and over. Excellent video, Jordan.

    Really solid video, what are your thoughts on Andrew Wiltse's approach to submitting from the back? He also falls towards the underhook side, and baits the armbar to finish the choke after trapping the arm. He has an interesting breakdown on a video called "the wiltse choke". Love your content man!

      I just watched it and I agree with everything he said. The under side is best because you can trap arms easier and hit armbars.

    I like the cross hook bite while in back control (bottom hook goes through the legs, top hook crosses feet if possible..but clamping that knee on the top hip is vital). Once you hip in, you either control their posture, or they go face down. Either way, it’s a high probability of finishing from those positions.

    Just found your channel. I'm a fresh white belt down in Victoria Australia. Have been in lockdown and haven't been on the mats for 2 months now...     Kimura , always kimura. I have been successful hitting the kimura trap sweep from half guard lately. I’m spend some time with that and working half guard and butterfly guard for the rest of the year .
