For the past 30-ish episodes, I've been screaming at the screen "Just throw it in low with the diff locks on man!" Having said that, I love this series, well done.
I always do the Floating Drill with the P16 and it never has an issue with the deep mud, literally 0 need to winch. It's incredible how potent that thing is even with no AWD. Also because of its width you can take the main road even with the slope, just crawl in low gear. GG
I like the matching colour on your truck and trailer. Those pacific trucks are awesome. Nice choice :)
With all my mishaps and close calls in Michigan I couldn't afford the p12 but I had faith in the ol p16 and she pulled through quite easily on the floating drill!!
I think it would've been possible to carry the metal beams on the trailer too. Put it behind the top fuel barrels, and keep the crane winch attached to it. The crane would clamp the fuel barrels too.
I'll have to give that a try next time.
For the Floating Drill the P16 can go straight in the steep part, can go through the deep mud like it's nothing, just stick to high gear on the icy road and it's fine.
Awesome video! Very interesting choice the P12 is, not a big fan of that truck. I went for the Paystar 5070 instead, although the P12 is more stable. I like the 5070 because there isn’t a whole lot you need to upgrade on it. It’s really good straight out of the box.
The Paystar is a beast and I may eventually pick it up if funds allow.
You can cut through the trees towards the Port side to avoid the bog going to the Service Site.
Bro please come back 🙏
At 5:44 instead of loading 1 then moving the trailer, you could have just connected the trailer and then repacked the cargo then put 1 on top like you did. But I know 6 in one and a half a dozen in the other right lol.
Im doing a hard playthrough and im trying to only use American trucks. It's interesting to see what you use and how difficult it is. I've done a hard playthrough with Russian trucks included and unlimited cash and that was not that hard. So I figured I needed more a challenge. Nice choice to use the P12. Was the P16 not good enough in Alaska?, I'm currrently doing the last logging run in Michigan, cleaning up about 5 more small side missions then i'm off to Alaska.
The P16 is definitely capable in Alaska, it just requires some extra care on the icy roads as it cannot equip chained tyres. I opted to use the P12 instead as I would eventually need to buy it anyway. The other option for this mission is the Derry 3194, which AlienPir8 used in his All American playthrough.
@@KnullModem thanks for answering my question and a tip on the Derry. I never used Ice tyres because they werent quite as good in mud but takes extra care on the roads. Liking seeing how your playthrough goes. Well presented. 🙂
@@KnullModem I used the Derry 3194 and do so for most larger trailer hauls. It did very well on the floating drill mission but the trailer tipped at the ridge, which in turn tipped the truck. The P16 was used to recover the trailer, and the Derry pulled it the rest of the way. I like everything about the 3194 except its turning circle!
So as a noob I did the floating drill mission with the cat and fleetstar
Never noticed before but the fuel station in Alaska say "Steel River". Reused asset or easter egg perhaps?
I hadn't noticed it either, possibly a combination of both.
