  • [Bus Spotting - E8]
Following Chester, I had run out of money badly, so had to cancel any other trips till I was paid again. Luckily, this is about to change as I have money again, and am also in London at the end of this week. Anyway, being desperate to get bus spotting once more, I headed for Bury, a place I really enjoyed getting photos at last year, and knew was going to prove great for a film. Once based in Lancashire, then it's own Metropolitan Borough in the 70s which eventually became part of Greater Manchester. Despite this, I feel like the town still has a massive Lancashire feel to it.
This interchange has seen a lot of changes this past year, with the First Greater Manchester routes that operated here passing over to Diamond and Go-Ahead. It's also one of the few areas of Greater Manchester to not see Stagecoach, meaning you get a nice variety of colours and vehicles throughout your stay. The routes by Diamond here are also a great place to catch the Diamond ex-Yourbus Citaros, as they usually reside on the 524.
    Vehicles we saw here include;
    • Diamond North West
    - Alexander Dennis E20D/Enviro 200s.
    - a Mercedes-Benz O295 Citaro.
    - an Optare Solo M950.
    - Volvo B7RLE/ Wright Eclipse Urbans, on hire from First Gtr Manchester.
    - a Wright Streetlite DF Micro-Hybrid.
    - Wright SC5DDRDXU2/ Streetdecks.
    • Go North West
    - an Alexander Dennis E20D/ Enviro 200.
    - an Alexander Dennis E40D/ Enviro 400.
    - a Wright Streetlite DF Max.
    - Volvo B9TL/ Wright Eclipse Gemini vehicles.
    • Transdev Blazefield (Rossendale/ Rosso)
    - Alexander Dennis E20D/Enviro 200s
    - a Scania K230UB/ Wright Solar.
    - Wright Streetlite DFs.
    - Volvo B7RLE/ Wright Eclipse Urbans.
    - Volvo B7RLE/ Wright Eclipse 2s.
    • Tyrers Coaches
    - an Optare Versa V970H.
    - a Scania N230UD/ OmniCity Double Decker.
𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲: I manage to get to Rochdale in good time, and get another pretty decent film out of it.

Well thanks for clearing that up with the 19 plate double deckers. I got one one the other day I couldnt figure out why the had the little screen towards the front of the bus but not on the newer 20 and 70 reg ones.

Ironically the newer ones are much lower spec, and they had to retrofit orange LEDs to the 19 plates to make them more uniform

@@LucyMichela I dont know why though as the orange on a newer bus isnt as nice. I have seen one however with a white one and thought it looks real nice

@@Matt-di6nb from my understanding, the orange ones are the cheaper option when new, so they just retrofitted more onto the 19 plates. Not sure if they bought like just the displays or what though

I used to work on bury buses when we had pd1 and pd2 buses and kay gardens was a better station if you can call it that .although iv been gone a long time bury is ruined in my opinion im sorry thats how lot of us old ones think.

Can't stand go north west. They have clearly done it all on the cheap, no new buses, just refurbs of some of them. Old fleet too.

I mean they also refurbished old stuff fully, and are still acquiring buses newer and more reliable than what was there previously. They also have introduced lots of colour to Manchester, so they seem great to me.
First was hardly a modern innovative operation from Queens Road

I do love their orbit's livery, who ever made that livery deserves a pay rise

@@transportmanchester3299 not just that though, the 135 branding was a great move and theres more on the way.
Plus its much better they utilise newer vehicles not wanted by other companies than to scrap them and waste money on yet more new stuff.

@@LucyMichela I find it interesting how there are like 3 routes manage to survive Manchester to bury when they have the tram to compete with. Not done the 135 yet but hopefully will get round to doing it.

@@transportmanchester3299 well every option will serve a different location that needs the route. I know the 163 and 135 go pretty different routes on the way to Bury
