    5:44 really brings out the hollow, sinister sound of an offroad H pipe paired with Flowmasters. I've had six different Mustangs, and to this day there is nothing that beats the sound of a 2v/4v with some 2 chamber Flows.

      D Parker, yeah it definitely sounds like a nice setup for sure! I was reading reviews on the h pipe and a decent scout of people said it leaks and is harder to get on. Did you have any problems with it?

    • @lowmofo
      @lowmofo  7 лет назад

      Randy Groce it was not hard to get on because it comes in two pieces and you clamp the center together. This did leak, so after I noticed the leak, I took the clamp off and just welded that spot.

    • @randyg1790
      @randyg1790 7 лет назад

      D Parker, ok awesome and I'll probably do the same if I find or hear any leaks. The h pipe comes today so I'm pretty excited to put it on, along with the mufflers!

    • @lowmofo
      @lowmofo  7 лет назад

      Randy Groce good luck with your install, hope you enjoy it. The leaks were only noticeable when I drove next to a barrier (like a concrete wall) with the windows down. Also keep in mind that the mufflers have a break in period. They will sound a little louder and deeper after 2,000 miles of use.

    @D Parker Hey i recently had the Pypes off road H pipe installed by a shop and also have flowmasters out back on my 04 GT auto. I was wondering if you noticed a loud whooshing noise on the passenger side after putting the catless H pipe on? Its only on acceleration. Is this just because the cats by the manifold are gone? Im worried about a leak from the manifold to the new pipe, which would throw off the front o2 sensor. its only the passenger side though from what i can tell in the cabin. Any info from anyone with a similar setup or experience is welcome. Thanks.
    Side notes: i provided the shop with a new gasket and bolts (some slighlty longer than stock like maybe 1/4 inch which i think they used, i read the stock length werent long enough) and they used an impact driver. Also i have a tuner. I pulled the codes and the only one im not sure about is the P0060 code, which one article on google says thats the Pre cat sensor. Every other site says its Post cat sensor. I know the rear o2s dont matter. My tune is on the way to turn rear o2's off which if all codes are gone for o2s then i guess ill have my answer on if i have a leak at the manfiold or not. Just a little scared to drive my car until i know its not a front o2 sensor problem since those control air fuel ratios. Seems to run normal so far though.

    • @lowmofo
      @lowmofo  5 лет назад +1

      I had my rear O2's turned off with my tuner. I did have a similar sound to what you are describing, and I mainly noticed it with the windows down when I would pass any kind of concrete wall (like a bridge or building) due to the echo of the sound bouncing off of it. I don't really remember hearing anything unusual in the cab, but this has been years ago, so I could be wrong. After listening to the noise, I discovered it was a leak where the sections from the first pipes (coming from the manifold) clamp together on each side to the second section before making the H. I welded these sections together on each side and that left only one clamp (in the middle of the cross section of the H). This way, I can still remove the exhaust if needed. After welding up the two slip joints all the way around, this fixed the sound you were refering to. I never had to get longer manifold bolts or new gaskets or anything, because the connection to the actual manifold was fine. It was the next section of pipes that connected together on each side. Hope that makes sense, I tried to describe it as best as I could.

    How do you like the Pypes Offroad H? Any fitment issues?

    • @lowmofo
      @lowmofo  2 года назад

      I like it much better than the BBK Offroad X pipe that I had before. Fitment was good. Two of the pipes slip on and use exhaust bands to clamp down. There was a small exhaust leaks, so I welded 360* around both of them to fix this issue.

    • @jasona4473
      @jasona4473 2 года назад +1

      @@lowmofo I have bbk offroad x right now and may trade someone for a pypes offroad h. I dislike the raspiness. I have bbk shorty headers as well. Just wanted to know what I needed to do to make sure theres no leaks. H pipe is 10x better sounding.

    • @lowmofo
      @lowmofo  2 года назад +1

      @@jasona4473 The raspiness of the X pipe is exactly why I swapped to the H pipe. Just install it as it calls for, test drive and listen for leaks. The best way to check is to drive over a bridge with concrete sides with your windows down. You'll be able to hear it if there is one. You could try adding some red RTV sealant to the compression areas. I just welded mine in because I'm not ever planning on removing it.

    • @jasona4473
      @jasona4473 2 года назад +2

      @@lowmofo I think I will weld mine as well. The H-pipe vs X-pipe is a night n day difference. When I bought the car I knew something was off with the sound because I was used to old school muscle. It was the raspiness of the X pipe that turned me off. Not a fan of that loud race car type sound with zero tone.
