I wasn't born in the USA but I live in the USA and for me having somewhat of an outside perspective I think these are the real patriots. Often now in days you see folks spewing hate and other nasty things and then they hide behind patriotism. Patriotism isn't hate for others but love for your country and your people. Thumbs up for this video!
My future husband is a United States Marine. He is just an amazing man. I have incredible respect for our service men and women. Army . Marines. Air Force. Navy. ♡
cannot imagine how proud you are of Him...Col. Davis seemed like a class act..and there was evident camaraderie among these fine soldiers...is there a time limit or term in the Old Guard?..and what was the medal/award given to him? i am sure he will have a long and distinguished career..as parents it is obvious you did a great job with raising this young man...
He received the Army Commendation Medal. At any rank, its a significant award, at his rank it means he was a really good soldier. Most of the time, a soldier at his rank gets an achievement medal for a tour. The commendation medal is a step up from that and probably the highest award they could reasonably give him for that billet. Thats a tough gig though so it may be common. Congratulations from Oklahoma and thank you for making us proud.
Well I am not so sure of that. Candy is really common. I would bet almost every single person has, at one time or another, received some candy. It's common to see bowls of candy at the desk of middle aged ladies in office buildings. I have never seen a bowl of ARCOMS that anyone could just pick up and pin on, and I would bet that only one person out of 200 that you meet on the street has at one time or another received an ARCOM. Moreover, its very common to see people who have eaten candy hundreds, if not thousands of times. I really doubt that there is anyone who has received a hundred ARCOMS, much less a thousand. Maybe a guy who has completed a 20 year career might have 10 or even 15 ARCOMS but that same guy has probably, in the same period of time, eaten 3 or 4 hundred pieces of candy. So you should probably re-think your opinion because I think you are way off here. Candy is far more ubiquitous than Army Commendation Medals.
@@stephenlaporte7111 its the number of the beast according to Revelation 13:18. However my dad and I were looking at rugs once and one of them was #666. It was a beautiful rug too
I have been told "thank you for your service" so many times that I am hesitant to divulge that I am a veteran, anymore. It is as cliche as "thoughts and prayers". Something people say that has been said so many times that it has lost its original meaning.
Some of us know what it means and truly mean it when we say it. I have my freedom because of those who served, those who are serving, and those who will be serving. I for one appreciate that-and you.
@@P_RO_ Fair enough. Some of us (you) appreciate hearing "thank you for your service". Others of us (me) are sick and tired of hearing it. To each their own.
Salute from a retired AF officer.

...why does everyone always forget to include the Coast Guard? .-.

Because it sounds very similar to a civilian orginization in Britain that holds the same name.

I think the woman in the black and white dress should've put her phone away.
I think it's his wife or girlfriend and she was recording it or something along those lines.
Internet Police I hope so.
Art Hartwell yeah she shouldn't be using a phone.
She was trying to record the moment

Man, I would hate to be the 666th Sentinel lol
Stephen LaPorte but yet you like your own comment.. Pathetic
Stephen LaPorte I would be honored to share that number.
What? I didn't like my own comment...?
RetroGuy76 I was really just joking, 666 is a fine number haha. It's just that some people associate it with a bad thing.

All they receive is an ARCOM?? wow
Much respect, but they could have given him more than an ARCOM.
This is honor that the liberal protesters have no chance of ever receiving or understanding. These men are the best of America. Thank you!
Great ceremony, camerwork bad.

What disrespect this wife of this sentinel showed by texting during this significant time in his life.
You mean when she opened the camera app and swiped over to activate video? Yes, it was THAT easy to tell what she was doing. Assume much? 🙄
