He is, he just often isn't used in a that way. He's been trained in hand-to-hand combat by Captain America and has held his own in fights against the Hand and other skilled foes including Batroc. He's also an expert with many other weapons including basically anything aimed or thrown as well as swords as evidenced by his time as Ronin. As to his history, he was a carnie who became a criminal who became an Avenger. I think that trying to take that away so that he has any other backstory would make less sense, be unnecessary, and make him less interesting.

That's what i hate about thematic events made by any writer, they are so centered on making "the thing" happen that they throw every sort of logic outnof the window, the most insulting examples being: -The Punisher kills Marvel: Literally the entire thing, but highlights goes to Wolverine, Dr Doom and Venom 's death, no to mention conviniently forgetting about Carnage -Deadpool Kills Marvel: makes way, WAY more sense than the punisher one but it's still has it flaws, i'll chose Hulk's death in particular --Marvel Zombies: Zombies....exist in the canon universe....the characters aren't dumb in the canon universe....what the hell happened here? Also Galactus' death what the hell? Avengers/Inhumans vs X-men: Everyone is a violent idiot who suddenly hates mutants and them wanting to kill them is threated as a good thing.

In old man Logan there was a giant corpse of Loki in the desert, my thought process was that HE was the reason Thor died when they both fought and Asgard just took it as a sibling rivalry ending in the most expected way possible and just bowed out of Earths affairs since they didn't really have anything to do with his death. This makes no sense both for why that corpse of Loki is even there or how he could have possibly died, how Thor even died to fucking absorbing man with little to no resistance, and why Asgard didn't take that personally and go wreck the entire villain group that thought that was a good idea. The only thought I could have given was that Loki was apart of this plan and already covered for their asses some how, but seeing as he's also fucking dead on Earth I heavily doubt that was the case.

The only thing I don't like are the stupid deaths. Thor, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, they just would never get taken down so easily. We're talking about a god that can easily desintegrate anyone with his hammer, the most powerful mutant that can literally warp reality with her thoughts and the fastest mutant alive. Also, Magneto would never kill his own daughter in such a violent way so gratuitously, even if it was for the mutant cause. The only way I could see these deaths making sense would be if Thor had been really weak, Scarlet Witch had done something terrible to mutant kind and Quicksilver had been poisoned, then I guess I could see these happening for real. Maybe not in such a gruesome way, but somewhat brutal like that. I'd love to see a live-action adaptation of this, specially now that the setup is almost perfect. A MCU movie with Clint going after revenge for all the friends he lost.

Hawkeye is like a humble Bruce Wayne. He depends on his team to do tha heavy liftin', but he's always 1 step ahead of eve'ryone, or jus' in time to make a difference. He neva try'd, or want'd, to outshine anyone. He earn'd his place ev'ry day he was on tha Avengers.. Grim-Dark stories like this always skip over the idea of what makes each one of these people heroes. Hawkeye will still always be my favorite, a real hero.

Um actually... ☝️🤓 Absorbing Man is incredibly powerful and is quite often underutilized in many story archs. His powers allow him to absorb ANY material through physical contact and he has been able to drain the life-force out of people when absorbing their powers. His absorption does not really have any definable limit aside from absorbing too many things at once. So when he touched Thor, he was actually absorbing all the mystical energy within thor AND was amped by Magneto. So that is why he was able to kill Thor.
They also juiced absorbing man to be able to confront Thor. He then took on the propertier of UR, the metal Mjolnir is made of and began absorbing Thors energy and Mjolnirs. Basically it was predetermined that hee would face Thor he also had a shit load of backing he generally would never have

Comics like this always annoy the hell out of me, because while interesting in concept they always take just a very lazy and uninteresting route to deal with it. No special tactics, no exploiting of weaknesses, nothing done to make the heroes getting wiped out make sense, its just the villains or whoever using brute force, andit just so happened to work this time.
In the earliest Justice league stories Green arrow did more than batman. I think Batman became extremely popular at some point, then he was used more then Green arrow. Arrows wealth probably puts him over Hawkeye in preparation.
If memory serves, once all of the heroes were defeated, the bad guys simply used their power to take over the country. After that, there was probably fighting amongst the villians for more power. By the time the dust settled, there wasn't much left.

Not all of America is a wasteland, it's mainly where Old Man Logan takes place where a bunch of irradiated Hulks were running around smashing everything (and everyone if it had a coochie). Also the fights between the heroes devestated America, Giant Man and Loki's corpse were hundereds of pound sof meat that just fell on the earth, shook things up. The new heroes and stuff were also getting into skirmishes and destroying the ecosystem. Old Man Punisher for example got into fights with "The Punishers" who were burning towns and stuff.
All Hawkeye did was take over Zemo's team and that's the motive for revenge skull Well ig it was a huge mistake as Hawkeye got his revenge and took down the traitors
I always thought of Hawkeye as a more skilled green arrow, not in archery green arrow is the superior archer but in their ability in combat in general green arrow is very skilled but his expertise almost always exclusively is hand to hand and archery unlike Hawkeye, however he has none of the personality. Nothing about the way Hawkeye has ever been written has been interesting to me and I believe most of that has to do with clint’s absolutely bare bones personality.
So...he saw his friends die, saw his partners die, saw his own teamates kill heach other to survive, saw his potential love interest die in his arms and saw the villans and the backstabers leave him to live knowing there efforts meant nothing AND knowing he was not even deemed WORTH joining his camarades in death... fuck...poor guy... i just hope his story ends well in a way...right?

I love the difference between how DC treats Green Arrow and how Marvel treats Hawkeye. DC treats GA like an actually competent supe with abilities outside of shooting arrows while Marvel does this.

Absorbing Man is incredibly powerful and is quite often underutilized in many story archs.
His powers allow him to absorb ANY material through physical contact and he has been able to drain the life-force out of people when absorbing their powers.
His absorption does not really have any definable limit aside from absorbing too many things at once.
So when he touched Thor, he was actually absorbing all the mystical energy within thor AND was amped by Magneto. So that is why he was able to kill Thor.
They also juiced absorbing man to be able to confront Thor. He then took on the propertier of UR, the metal Mjolnir is made of and began absorbing Thors energy and Mjolnirs.
Basically it was predetermined that hee would face Thor he also had a shit load of backing he generally would never have

Absorbing Man has been shown to absorb actual power that's even relative to Thor, he was even with a weakened Hulk he was made to fight against, then turned into a fucking spine 5 minutes later. Creel should have disentegrated the second he fucking touched Thor if that's what his intentions were. Also him Absorbing a dead wandas power was extreme plot armor.

Comics like this always annoy the hell out of me, because while interesting in concept they always take just a very lazy and uninteresting route to deal with it. No special tactics, no exploiting of weaknesses, nothing done to make the heroes getting wiped out make sense, its just the villains or whoever using brute force, andit just so happened to work this time.

If memory serves, once all of the heroes were defeated, the bad guys simply used their power to take over the country. After that, there was probably fighting amongst the villians for more power. By the time the dust settled, there wasn't much left.

Not all of America is a wasteland, it's mainly where Old Man Logan takes place where a bunch of irradiated Hulks were running around smashing everything (and everyone if it had a coochie). Also the fights between the heroes devestated America, Giant Man and Loki's corpse were hundereds of pound sof meat that just fell on the earth, shook things up. The new heroes and stuff were also getting into skirmishes and destroying the ecosystem. Old Man Punisher for example got into fights with "The Punishers" who were burning towns and stuff.

I always thought of Hawkeye as a more skilled green arrow, not in archery green arrow is the superior archer but in their ability in combat in general green arrow is very skilled but his expertise almost always exclusively is hand to hand and archery unlike Hawkeye, however he has none of the personality. Nothing about the way Hawkeye has ever been written has been interesting to me and I believe most of that has to do with clint’s absolutely bare bones personality.
So...he saw his friends die, saw his partners die, saw his own teamates kill heach other to survive, saw his potential love interest die in his arms and saw the villans and the backstabers leave him to live knowing there efforts meant nothing AND knowing he was not even deemed WORTH joining his camarades in death... fuck...poor guy... i just hope his story ends well in a way...right?
He survives up until he's an old man, but he puts in work throughout his remaining years of life.
