... anymore, but one last full-length feature film would be awesome, just to finnish it off properly. This is one of the best shows I've ever seen (especially the first three seasons), and one of the reasons for that is the fact that they've put so much heart into it. It's more about the characters than about the storyline, so you develop "feelings" for the characters, and then it's even harder to let it go. But honestly, it felt "done" after the fifth season. Every good thing has an end.
That's a _darned_ good question. We know the _later_ Sarah would not, but this Sarah is still a lot like the Sarah at the start of S1, and if anybody doubts what she's like, just look at what Sarah does when her memory is wiped. Earning people's trust in order to betray them is what she _did_ for a living, and before that she was a con artist, deception/betrayal again. So...had this Sarah been around Chuck and Ellie and Morgan enough to have changed enough, yet? If Chuck had not poked her in her newly awakened conscience, if Jill hadn''t warned him to watch his back to cause that...would Sarah have betrayed him? No way to know, but my guess is yes. I've wrestled with this myself. I remember saying over and over again back in 2009 that the show had to change to survive because the formula was thin by the end of S2. But when they did change stuff, the show lost something. It just wasn't the same even though I think they tried their best. The other part of the equation was that with the constant threat of cancellation, they had to change too fast. Things felt rushed and uneven if you look at seasons 3-5. But it's still my favorite show.
caomhan84 the problem was they tried to reset everything at the start of season 3. They tried to keep sarah and chuck apart when they could have made them a couple who had to keep it secret from beckman while protecting chuck who was in more danger from intersect 2.0
Part of the magic of S1-S2 is Chuck as this ordinary guy (albeit a brilliant one) trapped in this insane, twisted spy-world. Even his friends in the spy world (Sarah and John) are a little crazy, and might end up killing him, his enemies in the spy world are unspeakable, and he's got a sensible normal fear of danger. But that _had_ to change. Chuck, trapped in that world, would either adapt to it and begin to become functional in it, one way or another...or die. It's impossible for him to stay the everyguy newbie forever.
In my opinion, the writers should never have let Chuck and Sarah consummate their relationship. A large part of the charm of the series was the sexual tension between the characters. They could have even professed their love for each other, but when they tried to consummate said relationship, something would wreck their plans. The writers could have had a field day coming up with different scenarios for spoiling their plans. To even great comedic effect.
@@richardmeade8706 Yeah, but past a certain point that stops working. You can't keep up a 'tease' forever.
