Lily Cole, Tom Wlaschiha and Maeve Dermody interview on starring in Hilma, the appeal and importance of bringing the little-known story of painter Hilma af Klint, now recognised as one of the first Western abstract artists, to the screen, working with director Lasse Hallström to evoke the era through beautiful costumes and sets, the themes of female friendship, being suppressed by a patriarchal society and LGBTQIA+ relationships that emerge from her story.
Hilma will be released in UK cinemas on 28th October 2022. In early 2023, Hilma will also be available on Viaplay UK, Viaplay’s streaming service set to launch in the UK this autumn.
