I've looked at the Hubble optics uls for a while now. They seem like one of the better values out there, especially if you don't go wild on the options. Diy is kinda part of the dobsonian spirit.

Yeah, dobs are like the hot-rods of telescopes. They typically get trick out. Which is half the fun!

On these Hubble Optics dobs, at high powers, do you notice any settling time after you adjust focus? Or when you/during focus, is the image from the eyepiece dead still?

I have no problem with the scope not settling. But that is due in large part to how well you balance any dob. I cover this here, at 30:45 in the timeline: ruclips.net/video/4FuGniNZlg4/видео.html
      Cheers!

Ohh nice easy bagger tip, might try that first since it’s so simple and cheap. I was about to order Kydex and comes in 12” sheets and would of been a huge pain lol. Worth it to flock this with felt if you already got some?

I've made a couple of dew shields with that Easy Bagger material, including for the RC-6 used in this workshop: ruclips.net/video/oYZJsOc-vRg/видео.html I didn't feel they needed to be flocked, so long as you're using the textured side toward the optics. But if you've got some already...

I went to the garden shed and to my surprise found the bottom of that bucket. That was 3 years ago I built the dew shield. And wouldn't you know it still had the UPC sticker on it! So, here's the number: 6 95623 12204 0
