im part of the minority when i say xros wars is my favorite season of digimon so by virtue of that ive decided to build each digixros deck and man i really enjoyed your approach to this video, the editing was phenomenal and your points were very informative and easy to follow
Before the ban I had a funny Quartzmon deck that used the Garurumon engine form EX05 to look for the pieces to cheat out Quartz. It was surprisingly effective and often people would just scoop after I explain how it works. I don’t think the designers thought about that when designing Opposu and Yasya.
I feel like Digixros was originally intended to be balanced out by requiring the player to mostly empty their hand/board to drop a full stack. But then this "drawback" is immediately circumvented by X4's draw 2 and other methods like digixros from trash. Of course the intended recursion of saving materials under tamers exists, but that initial digixros that was supposed to be highly committal just kinda wasn't. And that's not to mention that these decks are incredibly hard to stop because tamer removal is still so rare. Like Hybrids before them, the underlying mechanic is fine, but the inherent staying power of tamers plus one or two blatantly overtuned cards turned the archetypes into unstoppable nightmares until the banlist had something to say about it.
The worst part about this issue is it seems like "just add more tamer removal" isnt a viable solution because that also pretty much kills any non-xros/hybird based decks that just need one or two tamers on board to actually work, I really cant even come up with a good fix for something like this, Maybe remove the tamers after performing a xros? really rough situation the game got itself in with these cards.
Solid edits and discussion points! I feel like Bandai just favors certain characters over others and as a result you've got imbalances where other characters aren't allowed to shine - case and point Bagra Army while Blue Flare, Xros Heart and Hunters get to see considerable play.
Members got this early since there were no ads in it :) Hope you guys like the video and it was worth the double digit hours that went into making this :D
I still love digixros as a mechanic so this was a fun video for me. Thanks for the x7sm clarification though, I totally would x7sm over another one and take all its materials from the trash. But I suppose it makes more sense that those cards wont be in the trash yet.
I really enjoyed the video , a quick note darkknightmon became stronger with the introduction of ACE cards since it can use any ace or gain memory buy de-digivolve ace owned by the opponent in my opinion this deck will rise in the support in both b18 and bt19 can't wait for these sets to come out
I was able to make digiburst somewhat work with a concept that involves making as big a stack as the game would allow, and then digi-bursting like a dozen cards for a massive security attack. I was also able to pull off using digiburst, and it's really fun. Never figured out the newer gimmicks though...
I love videos like this that goes through mechanics. Since I don't play the game (because digital version when?) but I do follow DGM TCG due to the myriad of interesting mechanics it has, it is lovely hearing discussion pieces from people who are experienced on the field and/or piloting.
There is a canon reason why most of the Bagra Army bosses do not have a DigiXros requirement. it is as you said it is forced upon the other digimon's will during the first Act of Xros Wars. Dorbick is an exception though since he already had a manufactured Xros Loader on him at the time. Bandai has been doing a real good job on trying to design the cards based around in the anime. It also explains the reason why Shoutmon X2 doesn't have Xros Hearts in his traits. the team wasn't named when he was first debuted. imho, it feels like a real big stretch and don't really see the reason why it shouldn't since Xros Hearts in general suffer from consistency issue compare to Hunters which just says, "hey. let's put DigiXros on the way side and just make Save extremely busted!" EDIT: OI! I will not take that diss on my favorite Spikey Boi! that tech in my Machinedramon saved my bacon from the reign that is Dorbick as well as bootleg Mickey Mouse. though Spychemon is rizz i cannot deny that

Whenever i digixros, i always declare digixros and start stacking materials then play the xros'd digimon on top. Its really funny to watch my opponent try guess which big shoutmon im going into
I'm still of the opinion that DigiXros was one of the worst mechanics for the game, but only because the way they handled it and supported its archetypes was botched. The resource loop is cool, but Blue Flare and Xros Heart can both plus consistently, even against removal that is supposed to beat DigiXros. The Nene-Kiriha dual tamer is the worst offender here, ensuring that Blue Flare can loop MetalGreymons over and over again, and with Rush, that always puts game on board too fast.
as a blue flare i agree that kiriha nene helped with blue flares consistency but the other side from bt10 blue flare cards had trash reccurssion for metalgreymon and at the same time if the greymon stack player is lucky still loses hard vs hades
As the local Xros main... I agree. It can be so confusing. The game conditions you to think stack building is the norm. And then Xros rears its ugly head in the room! But it's all worth it for that turn 1 Quartz!!!
Very good video!! Was'nt aware of the interaction with quartzmon and it amused me. Would like to see a video based on the wackiest (if that is even a word) interactions in the game. If possible
8:28 slight correction with bagra it's not that it misses timing versus the xross mechanic, it's the fact that it's a game mechanic and not an effect. For the same reason why BT11 mirage gaogamon can't gain memory off of you drawing for evolution
True, however the reason I worded it as such is that yuu amano's fake digixros ability ALSO misses timing with bagramon because of how DigiXros interrupts, and there's absolutely no way of defending that as a game mechanic since it's by tamer effect
I play with Blueflare player and on my first turn I play rookie searcher and gave him 3 memory. He just evo rookie and xros Metalgreymon and swing for 2 checks, I was like is this fair? He told me it use a lot of resource from hand so it is fair. But them came the blaze memory boost, It play tamer for free, search 2 things and even give 2 memory!? I would say Bagra army would be more playable if they have their own version of blaze memory boost and tamer that xros from trash

However, it can use the Superior Mode from trash.
Right, there's no case that would allow that, unless Bandai were to change the rules to allow digimon in play to keep their sources when used for Digixros. But that kind of rule change won't happen given how broken the mechanic already is.
@@AxtionBastrd yeah that's what I meant, its been ruled incorrectly before due to "cards being sent to trash when used for a DigiXros" I prefer it this way personally

Because with a title like “it doesn’t work” I expected to hear that xros is messing with some kind of game rule or that it’s not a good deck to play… So good history overlook but yeah this title is misleading and doesn’t seem like it’s adding anything new or a starting a conversation around xros

You don’t provide an opinion about xros which is why I can only guess that you think it’s unfair. You mention how the mechanic doesn’t make sense because the pieces underneath “randomly” are considered to be there but it’s not like this is exploiting a game rule like DP reduction does. You don’t provide a solution for “digixros doesn’t work” so again great history lesson but not what the title of your video implies.
That's fair, the lack of opinion is more that I don't particularly like or dislike the mechanic, I think its fun, but there's a caveat when looking at it that I noticed that the mechanic is kinda buggy, which more what I mean when I say it "doesn't work", more "it doesn't work properly" than "it shouldn't have been implemented" DP reduction is a shout though, that one also has some intricacies that I want to look at later, but I have some other concept ones that I've also been putting off and should probably do first. Taking the feedback onboard though I'll try and maybe have a "so how do we fix" X mechanic if I can come up with something for future vids, this one I was kind of tackling it as a "this mechanic is kinda weird when you stop to think about it for a little bit" type of approach rather than DigiXros decks are X/Y or this mechanic is unhealthy for the game. Through that lens I think the title and the video focus makes more sense
@@KnTElixar I agree that it makes more sense if you approach the video with that kind of mind set. Feels like a weird time to mess with this. Blue Flare is a fringe meta card, Xros Heart sees barely any competitive play, and DarkKnight/Hunters are the only ones to see success in any of the recent National level events. Obviously there’s the discussion of Merva in Anubis in EX5, but that’s one card that is overwhelmingly strong when combined with non-Xros cards (gravity crush, blinding ray, Anubis). That’s not about the strength of Xros, but rather that card in combination. The problem with Xros decks is the reliance on setup. You need to setup and pray that your opponent can’t interact with your tamers. So most decks can either just outpace it, or just run some tamer hate and not worry about them These decks have inherent problems and seem totally fair in the tradeoff. Yeah they can get a high roll, but more than likely they need to find some piece and need to setup. So I don’t think there’s any real problem as they are. A generically broken blue mega could make blue flare busted, but we’re not there yet. Obviously tho, I get the need for clicks and sensational titles do it better. So respect to the hustle

It's more I think the mechanic itself is weird, tournament results aside
Although blue flare did win the last UK Regional
Very wonky mechanic
YERRRRRR FOR THE FLOODGOAT
This was a great video with some quality editing. Subbed. See you next video!
If you haven’t you should do Dna Evolution, a lot of people write it off as a mechanic that cheats legally

Thank you algorithm. I found good content.
I'd like to know if Ace digimon work and why they definitely don't lol
I did enjoy this! Any tips for my channel? Lol
make content you want to watch

Nice vid, all my homies hate Digi-Xros
Can you cover Digiburst?
That mechanic is so seriously flawed it hasn't been seen in like 12 sets or something
It's definitely on the list
I think DP reduction will be the next system mechanic I tackle for sure
And some other gameplay theory stuff I've been putting off
Great video!

YEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!
Now do one for hybrids, burst, ACE and all the other broken shit in the game
Will be fun to do for sure
@@KnTElixar Never ending stream of content bro. DigiTCG is the only card game I've seen in over 7 years rival YGO in terms of powercreep, and I've played them all.

Bocó
So just like the Anime, the mechanic pulled from from it is also a failure. Good to know. Xros Wars was trash.
This mechanic and the non stop support made me drop the game... nowadays i'm too scared to come back to the gme TwT
Honestly Xros is still decent but it's not super prominent at the moment, should give it a go again :D
This just has the same annoying vibe as syncros in yugioh.
I started on blue flare for the game, it has mechanics that made sense to me and wasnt overly expensive, and have gone through a few variations. i will say, i thought that mixxing cards from other places was just what you did in this game.
HAHAHA, yeah in some respects since you're not usually forced into specific evolution lines mix and matching is what the game is about, but usually through the evolution climbing route rather than slotting them all down at once :D
@@KnTElixar no I understood the climbing thing. Making your stack and all that, But I do not prefer it. I have been collecting several of the non standard decks because of that, four great Dragons, d reaper, and I've got four sovereign ace pre brought save fanglonmon because I'm not spending 30 bucks on a single copy, I'll wait for release price drops.
