    Sean is NOT overly familiar with the cognitive functions of Carl Jung... But I see SO many links to his growth experiences and Jungian Psychology!
    Let me know in the comments below - how would you describe the cognitive functions at work in Sean's experience/growth?"

    This is so relatable. Although there's one thing I disagree with: loving yourself does not equal pride. You can look at yourself and say yeah I'm all this, I'm all that, because truthfully, you are, but you can't let that make you think you're strong enough to face what's up ahead alone. You still need the strength that God supplies to face these battles. Also, argumentative, always thinking who's smarter here, and always looking to put yourself in a room full of people you can learn from...this was my whole teenage years. I'm almost 17 now but I can say I've snapped out of most of that stuff

      Sounds like you've made some serious progress :) I agree with you - loving yourself is not pride, but people might see it that way... especially if you tend to over-value your strengths and undervalue the strengths of others. Now, on paper, I'd say I'd see all people with equal value... but my words and actions do not always reflect this. You mention God - Paul's words to the Corinthians (chap 12) might be a source of reflection here :)

    Hey guys-as an infp and family scapegoat with an entj golden child sister, growing up with her has been the most traumatizing experience of my life. This experience has been so bad that it’s made me extremely weary of entjs in general for fear of being treated the same way she did to me, and just hearing about them alone does some tomes trigger my fight or flight response.
    The more I grow the more I realize that everyone is, of course different and a personality type isn’t a monolith, but the traits and flaws that entjs share are often times the same.
    Watching this video of you guys being so real and honest about the flaws that have quite literally eroded my self esteem throughout the years is bringing me so much peace and validation. I really appreciate you guys, I hope you have a great day :)💗.

    I think this is true for feelers too about "most people will just try to gloss through that". As a feeler, I remember when I was younger being very hard on myself concerning my logic. Whenever I was wrong, I would focus, think to myself and try to understand where I was wrong, where I made mistakes. I'm sure it's not something that most feelers would want to go through, but facing myself and confronting my illogical consistencies, fallacies to the point where I was comfortable exploring the possibilities of stupid me being wrong in almost everything that I do and be humble about it all, is the type of growth in me I'm most grateful for...
    I get scared very time I pause and say to myself "Wait a minute, I might be wrong". I think "Do I really want to sit here and investigate the facts that could end up making myself realize that I'm stupid?" Fortunately, I usually chose to take the risk of investigating the facts at the cost of revealing my flaws to my own self. And it turns out that both (investigating the facts and seeing my own flaws) are both positive things.
    So maybe whereas thinkers need to confront their feelings for growth, feelers need to confront their logic.

      Haha. Seems kinda in authentic hey! Gotta work on my body language lol, I think Te moves so fast when I’m speaking with another ENTJ, that the emotions do the same

    This was really interesting and I’m wondering because I had a pretty heavy crash emotionally in hs and before I was pretty icy as a leader. After I was like wounded dog haha, but it really helped me so much and I made my life about service but even that had its ego death and I’m at middle age and becoming such an infp haha. Oh entjs. We are like just huge mountains of strength and weakness. So much ying yang. Dive into the pain. Dive hard and break a few times just keep doing it. Our little kiddo interiors need the shit beat out of the tank on us so they can be held.

      Yes. I heard it said once that we all need to experience this 'ego death' in order to grow.

    This is kinda off-topic but you look like me when i'm gonna be in my 30s haha, talking about the speaking style and physical appearance.
    Well currently i'm an ENTJ teenage years (17) and what i can tell you for sure is that i'm very arrogant but just not to an extreme level..
    People who share similar interests as me and show respect i tend to be very polite but not with the ones who i think are not that wise sometimes based on (physical appearance, views on life) because of respecting my quick decision. I guess i have a long journey to personal growth... but being arrogant is not a bad trait or good trait either, it must be a balance beetwen both depending on the person.

      Me? Or the other ENTJ, Sean (who spoke for most of the video)?
      Haha - yes, I wonder if there are ways our thinking/behaviour shapes our facial expressions.. or perhaps there is a genetic link to personality!
      Yes, I can relate to this mindset as an ENTJ, especially me as a younger ENTJ. I've been very quick to ascertain the value of another person (at least in how they can help me) - if they are someone worth talking, if I can grow... or if they seem to be more of an NPC (*look up what this is if ur not sure*). This is pretty arrogant, but why waste time with NPCs... you know what they think anyway... right + your time is valuable.
      Problem is, I've actually missed awesome opportunities and growth... turns out, no one's an NPC, really. Jordan Peterson "Assume that the person you are listening to might know something you don’t" was really helpful. I recommend a read.

    its not arrogance if one is harsh on both others AND himself. that's emotional stoicism.
    yes I acknowledge being like this won't help developing self love, but its rather irrelevant because not loving myself doesn't automatically mean I hate myself. honestly I don't even have feelings regarding self.

    • @TeNiPersonalityGrowth
      @TeNiPersonalityGrowth  3 года назад +1

      Hey Natural! Good to hear from you again :)
      Yes, I agree here - that's confusing confidence and high personal standards with arrogance I think :) Would you say ENTJs are more likely to be 'arrogant?' I think this topic deserves another video :)

    • @naturalinstinct4950
      @naturalinstinct4950 3 года назад +4

      @@TeNiPersonalityGrowth no. in the contrary, ENTJs are one of the most humble types despite they might behave in a stereotypically "arrogant" way, this is largely due to Si blidspot. additionally Fe/Ti users have much more arrogant attitude towards people and life in general, they have this huge sense of "entitlement": "I'm entitled to be treated differently" "I'm entitled to be liked", "I'm entitled to manipulate others emotions", "my emotions are the only "appropriate" emotional response" "my reasoning is entitled to be the only correct way of thinking(Ti has a straight line of reasoning, have hard time to think from other perspectives)", "my logic is always right if there's opposing evidence then it must be some hiccups on the "evidence" ", the list goes one and on.

      @@naturalinstinct4950 I don't think ENTJs have a monopoly on arrogance - but I think we are perceived that way.
      I asked around on Reddit different types (especially Fi/Fe doms) and it seems different types have their own definitions of 'arrogance' - arguing/debate was 'arrogant', asserting ones ideas = arrogance. These things attack 'Te'
      I see arrogance differently - perhaps "a proclivity to shame/squash an individual's expression/action when they don't line up with one's own ideas". I see this manifest particularly in Si... types... I conflict also with Fe/Si types especially, because the Si is feelings based.
      So I see a link with an ENTJ not using Si and being perceived as 'arrogant' - is that what you are suggesting? It might also be because we don't see the hierarchal structures that exist and always act independently - do what WE think/know is best (I hinted at this in the video).
      That said... our intuition CAN lend itself to thinking we are better than others. We think fairly differently to the S/F dominated world and get achieve success using Ni insight that fuels Te action. That can make us 'feel' superior... and in all honestly we might be statistically superior in terms of achievement.. but this (of course) is question of value... we VALUE what we strive to achieve, while others might see it as vain or irrelevant in the context of our impending death (lol, nihilism... what I mean here is... relationships matter more for most)

    • @naturalinstinct4950
      @naturalinstinct4950 3 года назад +1

      @@TeNiPersonalityGrowth to answer you question, yes. this is what I was suggesting. Si is indeed a more prideful perceiving function than Ni, but Ni is a relatively prideful function as well(comparing with extraverted perceiving functions which are much more objective). having Te with it helps the person being able to think from others perspective therefore negating the effect.

    • @TeNiPersonalityGrowth
      @TeNiPersonalityGrowth  3 года назад +2

      @@naturalinstinct4950 Good point! One could make the case that all introverted functions have an aspect of pride/arrogance, as they value the subject (self) over the object (world).
      Thanks for the discussion man! It's seldom I can really talk to someone in depth like this :)

    Pride comes from personal achievement.
    Arrogance and ego comes from immaturity...
    this video is inaccurately misinforming, you are confusing pride with ego. Pride us healthy, ego generally stems from insecurity and a need for pride
