Why being "married" to a virtual person wouldn't make you become a horrible person ?
Plus, I'm not saying this to be rude, but I've always found this kind of cliché phrase bizarre and dangerous.
You can see that this kind of virtual character makes them obsessed but for you "as long as they are happy and don't hurt anyone", there is nothing wrong?
If one day your child, brother, sister or whatever finds themselves in a similar situation, telling you that they are in love with a fictional manga character, a Kpop star or even a Twitch streamer to such an extent that you see them becoming insanely obsessed and spending all their free time and money staying disconnected in their bubble, being glued in front of their posters and confessing their engagement plans to you. You think it's a joke and it will go away until your loved one grows up and tells you that they still sincerely intend to marry the character they love.
What would you do ? Would you leave them in their situation because they "feel happy and aren't hurting anyone"?
Plus, I feel more like the person hurting themselves is the person being in that situation.
This kind of situation that happens in the Nippon country clearly shows a problem of loneliness.
Indeed, the guy who is "married" to the character Miku Hatsune had declared on another channel that in his work he was harassed by his *female* colleagues which caused him health problems and to stop his work. He stayed at home and during this time he started to discover the character of Miku Hatsune and to listen to her songs as lullabies. He says it helped him feel better and he was finally able to return to work, but I feel like it created another problem for him, an obsession with a virtual character.
I personally think he has a problem with women and that Miku Hatsune is a façade, a way for him to escape reality, to have the "perfect" woman who will say yes to everything and not hurt him like the women who have hurt him in the past.
However, being absorbed in a virtual world is only illusory because not only does the "love" he gives remain one-sided and in the end he remains alone.

It’s really interesting. I saw a video where people in Japan were having a hard time saying I love you to their parents. Like the commentator was going to the park, asking people if they say I love you to each other or to their parents and they were so shy and embarrassed. But to get married to a fictional character and have everybody support you is acceptable? Not saying that everybody accepts this. We are only seeing a little glimpse of a small group of people but it’s just interesting. I wonder how that will change in generations to come. As long as they are happy and it doesn’t hurt anyone else I suppose.

So you find people desided to marry them selves, a tree, a dog and now this. Years from know there will be robots that acts like humans and a lot of people will chose them because they are just perfect, they have all what they're looking for in a partner and they'll end up marring them. Honestly, as long as they are not using it as a replacement for real human interaction, then I do not see the problem. It is not as though there is one way to live life; people just like to project their expectation for social norms onto others and then claim that their way is the correct way. Having quality real human interaction is necessary for someone to maintain a good state of mental health, but there is nothing inherently wrong with this kind of relationship to a fictional character -- so long as the person can recognize that the character does not exist within our material reality.

I have seen a lot of comments where fictosexuality is written off as a cause of loneliness. Which is not correct in many cases.
Fixtosexuality is an real orientation. This means that many who are ficto aren´t even attracted to real life partners in the first place. Being asexual is similar in this regard - those who are asexual don´t miss relationships because they don´t adesire it.
Then how can fictos be sad or lonely by not finding an in real life partner then? The math doesn´t math here.
A different orientation than being straight *suggests* being attracted to a different thing so it wouldn´t make sense if they miss the straight thing.
It comes down to the simple fact what people are falling for.

I respect their decision which they ” thought ” the decision of marrying a ”non living things “ can make them happier and satisfy their needs forever. But I don’t support this mindset or any social encouragement as most of them are just sinking into your own world and delusion. Really , I don’t think it’s alright for them to raise awareness and seeking for support from the public and influence the youngster to swing away from being a normal human being. However, To hear them saying how they are bullied, rejected and isolated in the society sadden the whole story. Hence, they have became self deceived, they basically don’t have the courage to face the world and themselves as they are scare to be rejected or hurt again. Now, they turned to a fake partner who won’t speak against them and will only agreed to whatever the owner asked for, don’t you think it’s so sick mentally. I just pity them😢

I am a psychologist 🤔. This is problematic in many ways. Human experience has structure and contextual in emotional support. Human beings need touch and validation from another tangible person. Fictional is negative enabling. Characters can't match up to real human emotional intelligence. Real is what we can touch and see. Intangible is unable touch it. Human beings need hugs and kisses along with consistency of validation of each other's existence

Now this update with the presence of the life sized dolls and the robotics AI for a wife he is hoping for, it is already bothering I think. He slowly living more and more in the fantasy.
