I asked the kids if they wanted to go watch some birds. They asked me if they were in trouble for something. 🤣
They'll understand when they're older. 😅
• I definitely want to start Birding 🦜🧡 My home country of Guyana has over 700 different species of birds & I hope to start exploring there 🌼🌴🦚🕊 thank you for the tips!! 🦋
Oh you are in a treasure trove.
I'm from St. Lucia and have birded in Guyana. Amazing place to bird and you're fortunate. Hope you've enjoyed it in the last three years.
I really liked this make another please
I think they did. I'm tuned in. 👀
This is amazing
Yay
Birding can be very interesting I once saw some ravens mobbing a Red Tail hawk before
Isn't it odd? That a little tiny bird harasses the crow, the crow harasses the hawk, and in return the hawk harasses the little bird! I think it's so odd!😁
You can see all kinds of bird behaviors especially when mating season hits, building nests or raising their young. A lot of bird breeds mate for life. I always put lint from the dryer outside, birds love it for nesting material.
I love red tailed hawks
Oh snap. Nature doesn't play. 😬
I've been an avid birder since the age of four. My dad loved the outdoors and we would spend all day together looking at birds. He gave me my first real binoculars, on my seventh B-day, that I still have today. My Dad passed, but I continue the journey in his honor. I carry my cell and play bird songs which attract various birds, and also have an Audubon bird caller that I wear around my neck like a piece a jewelry. So I can be be ready no matter where I am. Thank you Dad, for encouraging me to explore the world and appreciate nature wherever it can be found, even if it's in your own backyard
I love birding! My list is about 1200 species, which isn't much compared to the hardcore birder lists. But I'm really happy with what I've seen.
Also it's a great feeling when you go out looking for a specific species and you find it!
And even better when you get good views of its natural behavior.
The best species I've seen is the Lord Howe island woodhen. There are only about 200 of them left. The one I saw came right up to me and began pecking my shoe!
Because they are an island species, they are very tame and not scared of humans.
That's really interesting. 😊
Thank you for these tips!!
Loved these tips! Just started birding in the Southwest 🌵😊
Love this
More! Yes!!
Birding is awesome
I got interested from the show Extraordinary Birder and just been doing my own thing with some binoculars I got from an estate sale so Im happy to find this video which gave me some foundational info. 🙏🏽Thanks for sharing
Thanks for this. It was really well done. I was searching Birding 101 (as a name not specifically this vid) as I am build a program for urban youth to take up birding in green, brown, and grey spaces with in an urban setting. Your introduction totally helped me get my thoughts in order. Thanks
It's so relaxing!
Song visualizations!! Love them
YAAAAASSSSSSSS
Very Nice video! Congrats
Thank you Sheridan!!!
great ideas! Thanks!
There isn’t anything wrong with old school. A family friend just bought me a 2nd edition Peterson field guide for western birds from 1990. The book is older than me but luckily the life list hasn’t been marked in at all and I intend on using it. The illustrations are great and the feel of the book makes birding feel that much more authentic. However, I do find that apps can be useful. Ultimately, to each their own but I know I love just going outside and being with the birds. Great video!
Nice! Im going to download that cornell labs app right now, though i dont know if the winter is the best season to start this hobby lol
I’m 17 and I should be getting wasted at parties but I’m looking into birding💀💀💀✋
Bro I'm 18 and doing the same lmao
This is a good guide.
I love how birding is as old as humanity.
Cool 🤙
mantap kaka
Nature presents: birding somehow gets prostituted worse than it already is.
aw I thought this was gonna be a British comedy skit. This is unironic cringe
Why do you think it is cringe? Could you elaborate?
Lyxtra Blatant exploitive topicality of it
@@dieschattenzeit Exploitative in what way? From a google search it is apparent that Sheridan Alford is intentionally aiming to illicit social change, but why do you suggest that there is something nefarious about that? The birding information in the video is genuine; why does it matter if a social intent accompanies it? Do you have a reasonable argument against the specific change the video host is attempting to illicit?
