Nice to see those vintage air conditioners running this year I enjoyed the classic start-up sounds bro
Glad you enjoyed it.
It was even hotter where I live (in the Bay Area) yesterday, but good thing it was not very humid. It was the first time I ran my air conditioner this year. It got up to 90 degrees.
Thanks for letting me know.
Wow, you got high humidity levels already. I don't mind the heat as much as the humidity. We've gotten up to the high 80's so far but with the humidity being relatively low, it was actually pleasant. I love the amount of nature at your place. Happy A/C season and great video, I enjoyed it.
Where i am the humidity is 90%
Unless it's humid, I typically won't run the conditioners until it reaches 85 or so.
Glad to see the Amana Coolzone 5k return to service for a test run. Also glad to see the other 2 air conditioners up and running. They seem to be doing their job well. Oddly enough its been tons of dry air this year so far in my region so not much humidity to speak of as of yet. Look forward to seeing more of these types of videos along with more of the tests and start ups of the other air conditioners and dehumidifers you have in your collection.
Thanks for letting me know.
That hawk sighting was neat, that made the video worth watching. I do think it’s possible to put a blower wheel on that Kenmore, just find a comparable model for parts.
I'd be even more interested in replacing the blower on one of the Westinghouse ones I have, they have the same stupid design.
Yesterday here in Connecticut was only 50 degrees
Thanks for letting me know.
Any thoughts on turning on the fan of amana 5p2my without the part of the rotary switch that attaches to the fan? The temp control works, but rotary switch part that connects to knob is completely broke. I can send a link to a picture of what I mean. Not sure if I should just throw the unit away.
Fixed (somewhat) if anyone has similar issue in future: basically unscrew everything down to the rotary switch. Remove the plastic rotary thing in front of metal spokes. Default is high so use a power strip or something and fan will remain on high when turned on. Can try etching alternatively into plastic rotary if applicable to turn it with a flathead, but in my case wasn't working.
You can probably use the knob from the temperature control on the speed control instead.
78 degrees is warm in my opinion compared to the 63 degree weather on the coast.
