  • Just hit the power button and watch this ‪@MakitaToolsUSA‬ 3-plane green laser level automatically level and plumb in seconds. The model number is the SK700GD and it's powered by the Makita CXT 12-volt battery. All 3 planes can be individually used, or you can power up 2 or 3 at a time as well. If tilted 4-degrees or less, the Makita laser level self levels. If you tilt 4-1/2 degrees or more, the laser started flashing to inform you that it's no longer level or plumb. #makitatools #laserlevel

When a laser level says "accuracy = +/- 1/16" @ 32 feet" that does not mean that at 32 feet the laser will be off level by 1/16" of an inch. What that means (and this was per some laser institute talking about the accuracy listed on each model). What that means is that at 32 feet away from the laser level, the laser line will be either on (true level) or off (off level). If it is off level, then it will not be off by more than 1/16" of an inch. You could go to 96 feet away from the laser level and find the laser line and it very well might be on (true level). But if it is off, it won't be off by more than (1/16" x 3 ) 3/16 of an inch.

Don't understand why they would make a pro tool that uses a 12v cxt battery when almost all pros are on the 18v lxt platform.. Just another battery/charger type to lug around

I'm a Makita guy but I have 2 Huepar kits that are cheaper and do more. One of mine is a complete kit with 4 planes vs 3. You may not think you need 4 but when that 1 time comes up you will be grateful. 2 batts, remote, case, and mount. It's under $200 at least when I bought it.

The fourth plane would be measuring from a point on the ground to directly above, that would be handy if your trying to align a point on the ground to directly above
I think the Makita has a higher accuracy rating though
I wish they made the laser compatible with the 18v range

    I grabbed the Huepar..(3 axis)..it's actually really good...that's nice..but for the money.....🤔
After watching some of the video especially the unpacking it is exactly like my Huepar... the only difference in the tool itself and all the things that came with it is this one says Makita other than that is exactly the same..the bag, the CD...everything..I don't have the second base though it is in a different Huepar kit ..

Can this laser be calibrated ?

No bluetooth? Thats wack son. You need that so you can shut it off if its up high and far away. Then you can leave it set up, save the battery and save a trip with the scissor lift or whatever.

The first thing that turned me off to this laser is the lever to lock/unlock the pendulum. The second thing that finalized my decision against this laser is all the cycling you have to go through to get to your desired plane. So much flipping and so much cycling! Dewalt's 360 laser is so much simpler and quicker! Its on switch unlocks the pendulum, and just hit the button for the plane you want and that's it! I do like the fine tuning knob on the Makita, though.

We agree on the fine tuning knob on the Makita as well, and yes, the DeWalt is a simpler setup generally. Thanks for watching.

The dewalt 360 laser level does not lock when it's off

The dewalt pivot point isn't at the vertical intersection which makes its more difficult to use adjustment knob. Hilti is the best so far. I have coworkers that regret buying the dewalt 20v

💥💥 Great review. I would love to hear how this compares to the Bosch and Milwaukee. BTW… I am 98% Makita with battery operated tools.
