You said it right, the songs were repeated twice on the same round, it felt like the blue side has an advantage since that side could pick up tiny things that could affect the result - musicality wise. I think this is less of an issue compared to underground competitions because popular/commercial music is played here. In this type format, one dancer will always have an advantage over the other due to the music. In the final alone, who was more advantaged by the music choice. 2 hip hop songs were played to end the final. Even though Mt Pop went second, I would guess that Rubix knows these songs better than Mt Pop and has more experience dancing to it. In the semi-final, MT pop had to go first and they played an Indian song against T who is Indian.
@@Jiggy_eats In itself, MT Pop danced practically the entire event with the opponent's music, since between the 4 battles, he danced 9 songs and did not play any pop song.
Red Bull organizors should take note too, find improving ways for the music loop and the song genres to make fairest grounds for both Red and Blue corners.
Important but was not included is that 2 last rounds were both Hiphop songs and very popular ones, so Rubix should have no issue with going first. While DJ really challenge MT Pop with no Pop song, he still did great but it could have been way more fire. I watched his rounds this year such as vs Future and was blown away with what elite poppers can do in their music. Way insane!

I had to re-watch the 2022 final, and I think Waackxxxy displayed more creativity and a broader range of different movements across her three songs, then the 2023 finalists did. While MT Pop or Rubix might beat Waackxxxy across one or two song battles, once it gets to three songs, there are few that can sustain such energy that she does and still provide so many fresh and new movements.
Interesting to see how you reacted to this year's event. Is it still the same location? The crowd were much further away last year and lower/below. A great event regardless. And the winner was????X whacky fan from England!X

A lot of people missed the word play by both Rubix and Mtpop in the finals, they were dancing to the lyrics a lot if you listen closely.
