Google translate for translating English to Vietnamese and vice versa is a common one for me to use. Vietnamese who can speak and communicate with me in English often display body language that indicate to me they are comprehending the conversation ( for example nodding their head up and down as if agreeing with my comment) . However often they do not fully comprehend the conversation. When using google translate try to use simple English words that are not ambiguous as to their meaning. I feel that they translate better in to Vietnamese. This app is particularly helpful in rural areas where English is not used as often as in the larger cities.
I like these morning quiet chats. I like the outdoor spaces when I visit but always find it difficult finding a quiet place to wander. In next video can you recommend areas and times around Saigon for some quick r&r? Thx mate 🍻
Another great video including some apps I did not know. Thank you again for all the valuable insights. Love a video on your ebike as I do not believe you have shared the details yet. What is it exactly, how much and was it? DIY or factory made? How many watts? If you did again what would you change?
Thanks Matt. My bikes a diy job, i fitted a kit to an old bike i loved. It's going back into the garage today for a few days but that's a good idea for a video, i'll get on it soon.
is Vietnammm still a thing over there? used to use that all the time for food and was brilliant! ZALO is an absolute must.. like a Vietnamese FB but less bs on it!
just found you as i am looking for apps to download before a visit to Vietnam... have many questions regarding Grab... I am in Australia and it was suggested to download grab here beforehand so it will be in english but if i get a sim card in Vietnam i won't be able to use it.. also i heard that if you don't have a vietnamese number and bank account you cannot use it either.. have looked up threads on tripadvisor etc but they seem to contradict each other... Do i need a sim card?? and how does grab work for a foreigner?? would very much appreciate any information from someone who lives there and uses it.. thank you...
Hi. A group of us are traveling to Da Nang as a tourist. Would love to meet up for coffee or lunch when we are there. Would you be available to meet up? Tricia
Grab was a godsend on my last trip. I did use Bookaway website for the longer van trips from Dalat to NhaTrang and Saigon to Vung Tai and it was much better value than an agent and was so easy to book with
What's your favourite app to use in Vietnam? (don't say Tinder! 😃)
Zalo application
:)) Tinder is an addictive app with the Swipe feature. It fits to people who wants to kill their time 🤣

Great points. I also often use Google translate as well normally when i'm trying to fix my bike!
Great info ! Thank you !
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thanks for the great tips. I will download when i arrive in Vietnam. Was told Grab won't work until i arrive.
I think you'll be able to download it Steve but maybe not add a card/verify etc until you arrive.
Wish I knew this when I was in VN. Well done my man!
Per your list, I’ve used Grab, Zalo, and Agouda only during my last visit….I also used Google Maps and Google Translate a lot 😊
Good suggestions-i use maps and translate often as well.
Love your videos ❤️❤️

Yes, Zalo & Grab imo the top ones here. After the success of Grab/Gojek/Baemin et al it seems Vietnammm has disappered into the ether...
I add Bee into your list. That is my favourite app for transport.

Grabs so convenient, can't really beat it!
