The smoke look great on the video, that was cool, my Man, thanks. If I hade the cash now I would get that plane, there is so many too fly, I love that one, it is one of the best on the market, and it is not so big, I have three that are 1.5 and others that are big, not easy too keep too many that are big, nice flying, we Love you so much.
I learned that you don’t even need a smoke pod. If you poke a hole in the battery just before takeoff, you’ll get good smoke for a few minutes, once.
true true
lol, I get the joke but just incase others reading this don’t get it, do NOT do that!! 😂💯⚓️
W solution
That's a stupid thing to do
😂
Words Cannot Describe the AWESOME.
🙏💯😎👍⚓️
That was cool Nate! I've got to find some of those 😂. It really showed the plane off, the tumbles looked awesome with the smoke!
That was brilliant! 😂
That was FUN!! Do it again with the PITTS bp or the VALIANT!! What about a JET?! Thanks for the smoke Saylors and the memories!! 💟👍😘
First thing I thought when seeing the title of this video was the famous saying "Anything can be a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough"
lol!! 😂 That’s right up my alley! 👍😅💯⚓️
You might be on to something great! Awesome video!!!
You could always make a channel using a couple of wood skewers and then a platform for the smoke "device". Then the prop would be providing airflow to cool the foam. I think the smoke exit would then be smoother too with air flowing all around it.
Looks good to me. It does the trick
One on each wingtip would be great, depending on the design of plane. Blessings!
Now that is cool!
Someone doesn't sound very enthusiastic concerning your smoke experiment. I personally thought it came out ok considering. I thought about doing that to my Apprentice years ago, but never did. Keep living the dream!
I almost can't believe I have watched this channel for 5 years. You guys have gotten me into RC and taught me everything I know through amazing content. Your videos have really helped me pull through the 16 surgeries I had last year and I am grateful to still be alive to support yall's channel.
Wow!! You may be some sort of record holder! My goodness, I’m very glad to know that you are pulling through 16 surgeries and are here able to type this comment to us!! 🙏💯❤️😎 Honestly, stories like this are truly what keep us motivated to continue pushing content for people to escape for a few and hopefully enjoy. It warms our hearts and is the true fuel to our channel. You absolutely rock and we sincerely thank you for your support! ⚓️
Smoke is awesome 👌 💯
Wow, I've had nearly 30, but not all in a year!!
@@davidhogue100 I just scheduled my 20th surgery and hopefully the last for a while because I’m only 16 and I think I’m done with having surgeries.
@@evanduncan25 Geeze, I'm 58. We're all these for the same issue? Over half of mine were amputation due to bone infection
Should put one on each wing, maybe different colors.
The smoke was super cool Nate… that’s also one of my favorite planes so yeah, nice video✈️🤙🏻
It’s been awhile since we had smoke on a plane ✈️ this is awesome 👏 happy flying all 😊😊😊😊⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️
Abby doesn't seem to be too enthusiastic about the smoke. I think it's awesome and must have. Could you imagine right at sunset? That smoke would look like yellow writing in the sky
What about using a long carbon fiber tube with a 116th inch diameter hole in the back or a couple of them? Attach to the bottom of the plane and the suction would pull the chalk out as you fly.
Abby and Nate, y'all rock! ❤ Peace
Gee wiz, you could have found a cleaner nicer way to attach it. Duct tape is not going to remove cleanly. Won't be a show stopper then..lol Not a bad idea.I've seen people do this before.👍
This video was smokinnnnnn
Can we see some more bashing videos
Great idea Nate, best use for those vape machines 😂
Hey Nate and Abby. Maybe the Commander next. Very cool flight!!
Time to teach Nate how to snap roll. 😋 From 2 mistakes high, level flight, full throttle. Push right stick (aileron/elevator) quickly to down/right corner. Left stick is already at the top (throttle WOT). Simultaneously push left stick (rudder) quickly to upper/right corner. Be ready to release immediately. Watch plane violently roll hard to the right, or, SNAP roll. God bless you, brother, but I don't know what that maneuver is you're doing when Abbie calls you out with a "WILL IT SNAP?!" 😁
You know I’m doing this the next time I fly! Thank you! 🙏👍💯😎⚓️
A layer of fireproof cloth probably would insulate the foam from the heat pretty well. I imagine the heat conducted right through that foil.
Very cool! But you need more right rudder!!! (As all fight instructors often say). You nearly ground looped it on that first takeoff.
Thunderbird or the blue angel
Fun flying the star spangled🎇 smoke stunt plane. Could you get different colored sticks❓️you might try painter's/frog tape next time. Good flying 🛩 Nate & Good shooting 🎥 Abby. ⚓️⚓️👍💛🧡💚👍🎇🛩🎥🎇👍⚓️⚓️.
Good innovative
I love and fly the heck out of my stars and stripes ( aka decathlon) and is one of my favorite planes to fly but i switched the prop to a 10x7 and run a 3200 4s and that really put the plane where i wanted it
Maybe put packaging tape on your plane then put the duct tape - might work better. Also could have used those smoke bombs (various colors) the foil looked like it worked good, although you said the foam bubbled some -- possibly taper/wedge the foil towards the back?
MPD Commander good as a smoker
Cool
Gotta do this with your large pitts biplane.
Ooh yes!! Love that one 👍💯😎⚓️
Sooo cooollll 🤪👍👍👍👍
Sometimes I feel like you guys read my mind! Ive been looking into this for about 4 days then this pops up! I used to vape and I always love getting crafty I can already imagine some homemade smoke generators, I already happen to have a gallon of vegetable glycerin from when I used to make my own liquid!
Whats up 🧨
What you guys are lacking are build videos, I think it would be great if you did that .
That sort of content would get a lot of views .
Its cool a flyijg buddy has played with those on a couple of his planes. There just so expensive. Well shipping is what ets you unless you can find local witch i have not.
To protect the bottom they have welding pads that you could tape on the bottom of the plane. San Diego, California
Alu Foil conducts heat... a 1" by 7" piece of 1/8 in AC Ply would protect the foam better prolly...
Nate looks like it's about to catch fire I love the way you have it jenny rigged
Though I enjoyed the show/video on one level I did find myself concerned about the safety aspects. I was wondering if a crash landing in some dry grass or brush could cause a brush fire. A fire could lead to property damage and even injury to people and wildlife.
When considering risk we should be mindful of both the probability of an event/incident happening and the possible consequences of the event happening regardless of how remote the possibility. This is something I will not try at home.
How about having the volunteer fire department at the ready next time? [Love you guys. Just a concerned chiding post from an 80-year-old follower.]
I completely understand where you are coming from! We were very mindful, knowing it had recently rained helped our decision to fly when we did. We were also flying directly over asphalt, which helps minimize risk! We had a couple full buckets of water at the ready nearby too, as well as a hose ready to go if more water was needed. We also had three nearby fire extinguishers and of course permission to be here and to do what we were doing. With everything in life, we must be aware of our risk factor and potential impact on others and the world around us. As I was taught in Scouts and still rings true to this day: Always leave your surroundings better than what they were when you arrived. Happy Flying my friend 🙏💯❤️😎⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors Thanks Nate, it makes me feel better to learn that you were aware of a fire risk and that your awareness played into when (after some rain) and where (keeping it over the runway) you would fly with the smoker on the plane. Also, that you had some firefighting items on hand.
Now you need one that you can switch on and off using the RC.
I’d absolutely love that! 👍💯😎⚓️
Always make sure you’re in a recreational free fly zone before you smoke your plane lol
There’s plenty of electric smoke generators out there. You could probably adapt to a plane input it on board there’s some for tanks that go constantly there’s some for trains. I’m sure there could be adapted to something.
I could be wrong, and honestly hope that I am!! However the only ones I’ve ever seen are for very large 6S planes only, generally balsa type models with extra space inside. Please tell me I’m wrong! 🙏⚓️
Please tell us where. The ones I have seen are very expensive and for larger models.
@@TheRcSaylors just search small electric smoke generator
@@epoweredrc I find that the train smoke smokes the best out of the smoke oil generators
@@Bulldawg101stthose wouldn't put out near enough.
We're all big kids in this hobby lol and about 30 videos ago we had the vape talk the only problem I see being a vaper myself is building a coil strong enough to be lit for 2 or 3 minutes straight you'd they generally run off one single 18650 lithium ion cell so that's not an issue I've sketched up a few ideas but never got around to trying them out but it's a simple design building a super heavy duty coil though not sure how to go about that but alot of people build Thier own so I'm sure it's possible
Could you recommend a cheap but accurate gps speed tracker so i can figure out my rc boats max speed?
Is this ok with the AMA?
Cool 👍
Try colored smoke.
Of course I'd strap a rocket with a remote ignition...
WoooooooooooooooooooooooooooSH! LMAO 🤣😂
Sounds like Wile E coyote stuff there! 😂
@@lylekehrer6159
Exactly! Lmao
😃🖤✌️
I didn’t click immediately because I thought you burnt another motor 😂
That reminds me of the early 1970s when i built a balsa and tissue airplane with a jetex atom 35 jet power unit . It fitted under the model and was powered by small solid fuel pellets lit by a fuse. It worked great on the first flight and left a trail of smoke. On the second flight it took off and cought fire and obviously didnt end well. I used the motor to power a small toy drag car from then onwards lol. I still have a motor and its box with some of the fuel. Memories eh ? Thanks for the videos .
I had a train set I think it was like in the 80s that was electric and it smoked
Likely a Lionel train! My grandpa gave me one before he passed. Still have it and love it! 💯😎⚓️
The cool thing about having a douche flute on a plane is that you could actually turn it on and off.
Were you not concerned about shielding your receiver from ground signals? Obviously, you got away with it.
If I had covered more of the airplane (sides and top) and further forward and back, I suppose that could have affected the signal. I also kept it Very Close to me which I’m sure helped! Good thought though! Don’t cover your plane with foil and fly very far away 😉👍💯⚓️
Hi, is the the big Cessna foam 182 a good first no experience ?
A lot of companies make Cessna planes. Which one? 😁⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors Amazon
Probably not then. However does it say “Eflite Cessna?” Or maybe FMS Cessna? This would be the brand. 👍💯⚓️
@@TheRcSaylorsI dunno it says sky flight hobby/lanxian/lx Cessna 182 v2 pnp / arf rc trainer plane for beginner
Is that good
😂😂😂😂 smoke rigging
Have your "fun to be a big kid again" if you are flying in an unpopulated, undeveloped, no drought area. I mean you wouldn't want a lit smoke stick crashing into an airport fuel tank (pump/truck/plane), dry underbrush, roof of someone's home etc.. Yeah, I know buzzkill Sorry, please ignore me. 🙉🙊🙈
It had just poured the rain 💯👍 Plus we were only flying over asphalt 👍💯 Plus we had two buckets of water and a hose ready, and three fire extinguishers nearby! 👍💯😎 Safety first! ⚓️
that is against the law and also not allowed by AMA except by special permit for airshow
But no one actually cares and will still do it if they want.
Though I enjoyed the show /video I did found myself concerned about the safety aspects. I was wondering if a crash landing in some dry grass or brush could cause a brush fire. A fire could lead to property damage and even injury to people and wildlife.
How bout model rockets? @@BillKisel
@@dsmdriver2588 I don't know about model rockets but would guess that there is some fire risk associated with the hobby. [A quick Google or Bing search should get you the information you're seeking.]
Hey Bill! I did reply to another one of your comments regarding safety 😁💯❤️😎⚓️
The smoke machines are available in all sorts of sizes from e-cig to nightclub filling size.ThankQ.TkEZ>UK
