Beautiful presentation of lovely Bellevue Avenue. When I lived in Newport Bellevue Avenue was referred to as The Avenue. I love seeing the historical pictures. It’s hard to believe that there was once vacant land there. These cottages look as though they have been standing since the beginning of time. Newport truly is a very magical place.

How great would it be to have the foresight and money to buy the land when it was still cheap. The guy could have lost everything, but he guessed right and made a fortune. It just shows that some people who make great wealth also took great risks.
As a Rhode Islander this is a favorite place of mine to visit! Especially ocean drive for me a very relaxing spot.
