I could see the wizard being “The Planner.” The one who is the brains of the party and has spells for every situation.
Very true! Every situation except death 😂
@@TheClericCorner tell that to the necromancer. Hahaha, they have a plan Even if you die.

My heist party of four would be as follows:
Face: Lore Bard. Ironically this is not the know it all guy, that's the Wizard. This is the charm them all guy. Give them Insight, Persuasion and Deception proficiencies. They will use disguises to distract, charm and get the team out of trouble.
Infiltrator: This is a Thief Rogue. Any Rogue will do, however the Thief is just ideal for a heist. Able to enter pretty much anywhere undetected. They have Thieves tools and expertise in Stealth and Acrobatics. Also proficient in athletics, Sleight of Hand.
Planner: Divination Wizard. Any Wizard will do, however with portents plus half cost on Divination spell scribing, this wizard is prepared. By planning ahead, the wizard will have a wide array of spells to bring to the table. Additionally this person will have all of the knowledge skills to boot.
Spotter: This could be another Rogue, however we have one of those. I am going for Moon Druid. Their wild shapes make them an essential part of the gang. Grab perception, Investigation and Stealth proficiencies. Grab skill Expert Feat to make Perception their best skill. This Druid needs to be able to spot trouble before any combat has a chance to happen.
Rules: No killing. Get in and out without arousing suspicion. Grab the treasure and sell it. What about combat? Well if there is combat, that is an automatic game over. So, best be avoiding that.
Effectiveness: This party uses a combination of spells, skills and cunning to get the job done.
Sounds like a killer team 😎
Instead of the cleric I think a druid would make a better choice. They are also a wisdom caster and healer, plus they have wildshape which can help with scouting out areas, or infiltrating when the rogue can't, and druids are more neutral so a little crime won't go against their code they are supposed to uphold, unlike clerics.
And pass without trace
Moon druid. Get bag of holding from benefactor as a prep item. Get players inside bag. Moon druid wears bag and wildshapes to infiltrate the target. Lets players out as soon as they are inside.
Nice, I’m about to run this campaign and I’ll update this with how it goes.
I hate it when Artificers are left out, hahaha... My Artificer is the Planner: he's right there only to plan ahead the use of the right tools at the right moment to prevent anything from going wrong. He's also the Filler: when something (inevitably) goes wrong, he steps up and fills the needed role for the mission to succeed.
Artificer was the first one! Lol
@@TheClericCorner Sorry, I wasn't clear! I meant how "everyone else" leaves the Artificer behind (and I specially love how you got him first, as it should be, hehe). That engineer role has all the MacGyver vibes that the class in 3.5 would be perfect accomplishing, but in 5e I made it the Planner because of how infusions work now.
@@gcampoverde oh absolutely! Lots of classes can take on multiple roles! :)
Druids are excellent assassins. Conjure Animals: 8 Stirges. Drain 80 HP over 2 turns.
Or Heat Metal then wildshape and hide in the rafters and escape.
Druids are just good at everything 😂
@@TheClericCorner Which would be hardest to DM? All cleric, all bard, or all druid?
Moon druid. Get bag of holding from benefactor as a prep item. Get players inside bag. Moon druid wears bag and wildshapes to infiltrate the target. Lets players out as soon as they are inside.
I got Mastermind role in the quiz they sent out. Kind of fits. I'm a good idea man, but the doing kind of falls apart if I touch things 😅
Exactly the reason we have a Plan B 🤣
I may have no idea what a Cohen brother is, but why are we playing Fiasco?
Paladins could work in a heist. A powerful McGuffin has been stolen from the Paladin's nation. The Paladin hires a band of Thieves and brigands to help reacquire the dangerous artifact. The heist goes off without a hitch, however it is once the untrustworthy party acquires the dangerous McGuffin that things go south.
An Evocation Wizard can in a certain way, be a reasonable Muscle/ Cleaner.
My warlock is a gunslinger so I'm going full Jesse James Billy the kid on this bank or train
Best kind of stealth is no one around to see you 😏
paladin could be the corrupt cop oathbreaker
The inside man on a different level!
Thanks this video make want to build a party with money heist theme with berlin as bard, rio as wizard, tokyo as fighter, helsinki as barbarian and more is still can't figure
I know!! Its awesome to put the roles in this perspective!
Thank you for this video. I wondered how strength based characters could actually work in a genre dominated by Sleights of Hands and Stealthing.
Will we receive a setting character creation for this book like we did for Journeys through the Radiant Citadel? I loved the idea of having a character for each one shot to change things up. Plus having a different character be hired for each adventure makes sense.
Possibly! The adventures are more hyperfocused, so we will see if I think it's of value!
Clerics are not the planners. In d&d wisdom is connection/perception to/of the environment and surrounding s. Traditional wisdom or at least what most people consider wisdom, is still under intelligence as per dnd 5e. Just reread the intelligence description
👎
@@TheClericCorner lol. That comment wasn't made as an attack, I used to make that mistake all the time. Other than the wisdom thing I thought it was a great video, gave me some good ideas
@@TheClericCorner I just realized how old this video is, the fact that you're still looking at comments on it awesome. 👍
God dammit, the breaking bad music
This wasn't really a party makeup. You just went through every class in the game in order and just plugged in parts of their description to fit the heist movie narrative. I thought this was going to be a overview of a balanced party for a heist mission.
I think you missed the point that every heist is different 😎
@@TheClericCorner video title is "the best party makeup". If every heist is different how can there be a best makeup. You didn't make a party, but it would be cool to have a party with 1 character for every class. 😎
