it's so disappointing that Mel tried to ruin his career and take everything he worked so hard for. too bad for her she underestimated how big he would become
Dang, I wasn’t expecting this ranking from you, but I can safely say that the At Play compilations are quite good to great for the most part. Even if Bounce and TL7 are easily among the worst tracks of Joel’s career, they’re not that bad either. Also my top 5 from the whole series would be: 5. All U Ever Want 4. Templar 3. Faxing Berlin 2. Orca 1. Vanishing Point
Definitely a weird bunch of album's in Joel's discography. I don't often listen to the At Play albums cos there's not a lot that engages me about them, and my favourite tracks from them are the ones that appeared on his studio albums. Still, they kinda make you appreciate just how massive Joel's discography really is, from the studio albums to these albums, to his hundreds of unreleased tracks.
i know that the full version of faxing berlin was on the extended mixes version of random album title that you can find on spotify. but definitely one of, if not my favorite song from joel
Interesting opinions on the first few- the drum-focused, atmospheric beats are considered “empty” for the lack of melody but I love them for their percussive detroit techno style elements. I also love Templar and Fallen for the same reason which you put higher up compared to Trepid which is along similar lines.
My favorites (in order of appearance from vol. 1 - 5) are Vanishing Point, Faxing Berlin, This is the Hook, Mr. G, Orca, Apply Overnight, Fustercluck, Tau V1, Subvert, Bitter Kitten, Overdraft, and Assorted. I'm glad the series exist on the merit that some of Joel's more underrated cuts and presents them in its own series. Also, it made it so I can purchase Overdraft lol. But true highlights are few and far and between, even if some of Joel's work by himself can be somewhat interesting. Heck, even that list of favorites doesn't even have a lot of Joel's best stuff. Good for if you need to put filler in a playlist, but I have a massive preference to the actual studio albums with the exception of Vexillology. And don't even get me started on Vexillology. That album has no excuse for being as boring as it is. I'm gonna save my thoughts for that album because I could rant about my intense frustration with it for hours. There's a laundry list of things wrong with that album.
Great video except for doing Tau V1/2 dirty somewhat. The melody is most certainly more different between the two than you gave it credit for. V2 was a bit more varied/meandering than V1.
Noticed many tracks from vol 3-5 at the bottom... I think part of the reason why later At Play volumes had more lackluster tracks is because deadmau5's heart probably wasn't in it anymore. Pretty sure Play Records basically just owned some kind of rights or contract agreement with deadmau5 and was basically just using his name. They were re-releasing deadmau5 stuff a lot and I think for certain tracks they own the rights to, you'd be lucky to post it on RUclips in a mix or something. They take copyright infringement seriously because deadmau5 is their lifeblood.
Bounce and Trepid are both great, and Stereo Fidelity is one of my favorite deadmau5 tracks. Idk wtf you're talking about 😕👎 Also how tf do you actually enjoy Cyclic Redundancy?? That track is super lame. And the fact that you think any of the Meleefresh tracks are decent is kinda shameful, that stuff is super cringe. Probably the worst track ranking I've ever seen in my life
You're killing me with the first 3 on the list, I love these dark tracks!

the beginning was funny because Bounce is one of my favorites, mainly because of the breaks. I can see why you find it abrasive though

I LOVE THE MAU5 SO FRICKING MUCH.

vanishing point is so good
mellee was so stupid when she thought she could take all his tracks and get away with that
You know it’s wrong when the three worst rated are definitely top 10 material on this list 😂

deadmau5 had nothing to do with them. They're just compilations of tracks from his days at Play Records
Fallen isn't exactly my favorite, I'm pretty sure it's just a bunch for parts from older songs mixed together. Gotta agree with the top 5 though.
epic
Can you rank Crafter2011's Minecraft Vol 1 pls. It's godly
