It’s one of my worst memories as a teenager when the PTV news at 6pm broke the news of the fall of Dhaka. My Dad and I had tears in our eyes and our hearts were broken. It felt as someone had split our body. In 8th grade I did hear the jokes in my boarding about Bengalis especially by the sons of military elite and bureaucrats. I had seen burning hatred in the eyes of a young Bengali army captain in 1970, sitting aloof, while others watched him with ridicule. My uncle, God rest his soul in peace had taken me out to watch Bedari movie which was a copy of an Indian movie but it inspired me to be a true Pakistani and to love every culture and ethnicity in Pakistan. Thanks for presenting this dark episode in our history in relation to culture and art.
Thanks! This episode brought back memories of our uniform literature and art, which is Pakustan's true heritage. We need to promote such literature and culture once again that are universal and capable of fostering peace and a close-knit community among people.
Thank you so much for this video. Film and arts are the largest factors to form opinion, and Waheed Murad used it well to grow love among the two parts. Waiting for the next episode.
Excellent combination of Art, Literature, History and Politics in this video. Our young generation must aware of the real facts about Tragedy of East Pakistan and this video helps them to know the reality.

Thoughtful debate but need to discus more aspects of this painful chapter …
Thanks
What an illuminating series. I was heartbroken when West & East Pakistan split up. I was in my early teens. Can you please add English subtitles?
Thanks. We will see if someone can translate and provide subtitles.
