T-pain always dropping gems
He a real OG in the game!
Imagine getting just $0.99 per sale for one song sounds a lot better than streaming
Definitely way better
I agree t pain is speaking facts
I like that he’s shedding more light on this!
Most artists are not responsible for the distribution of their work. I think that is the responsibility of the label. I would check the corporate boards of the streaming services to see which label heads also sit on the boards of the streaming corporations or hold stock in them them.
Yeah that plays a huge role too
Damn I never thought about that. Can u elaborate on that. I’m learning.
happy new year bra
You too my man🙏🏻🙏🏻
I'll say have fun streaming these artists cuz later on down the line artist are going to remove their music off these streaming sites because it takes so many streams to get paid for their music. Glad I didn't get rid of my physical music collection and I still buy CD's tapes and records 💯💯
Not sure if CDs are coming back but there will be some alternative with NFTs maybe
@@BensMusicYT I wouldn't say that CD's are coming back because they never left, they probably won't be selling like they used to but are still around. I still buy CD's right now today, streaming is just an easier way to get music and for some people they don't have to pay for it (music) really, just download what you want to hear and that's it.
@@shahawndonaldson9674 Very true - cd is best, download cool, streaming convenient sh*t 👌
Thats not what will happen. What will happen is mainstream artists (seen favorably by record companies) will completely take over, and underground artists will get pushed out.
Music that wouldve existed in a different time period with a different kind or music economy will no longer be made at all.
ur new album is fire.
Means a lot to me!🙏🏻🙏🏻
its sad on how i got 1k listeners sad news i wont recieve enough to even buy me food for a day
🥲
Also, we need to taken in & factor that just because there’s all these deals like brands, advertisements, etc. potentially available to artist doesn’t mean that that’s what they’ll choose to further their career. Just because it’s available doesn’t mean it’s exactly the best option for an artist.
Very true
good perspective
🙏🏻
Ay if the video creator of this video sees this I want to say thank you for providing this infomation.❤
Hey man that means a lot to me🙏🏻 thanks for the support🫶🏻
nice video
Thanks bro!
Actually russ was really talking about thus since forever
Russ the Goat when it comes to this!
Each platform pay buy how much people are on their service am assuming... To explain..
Hypothetically speaking let's say..
RUclips has a following of 1000
Spotify has 100
Now let's say..
RUclips pays 1 for every 100 streams
Spotify pays 1 for every 10
If an artist get's 1000 on RUclips they get $10 and if they get 100 on Spotify they also get $10, so it's all about how much people uses each platform and how they try to balance out the payment.
Sites with more people on it will most likely pay less (Or at a lower rate) as to create balance.
Thats probably a big part too and the reason why Spotify pays that poorly…
Snoop Dogg took his first album off streaming sites because artist not getting paid much money
I think that Spotify should drop the number down by 100 steams to 215 which is still a lot but it is a start. 315 stream is way to unreasonable.
Would make it way easier yeah
21 Savage dropping later on today at 4
Oh true, I completely had that off my radar
Matt had a good point
🤝🏻
Apple Music paid me way more than Spotify and RUclips combined
Oh shit that’s dope
Just to shed some light to other artists on the truth behind this streaming shit. I offer services for Apple Music that generates royalties back, that’s how I got paid
I think that if all artist moved strictky to Napster and all of their listeners did the same, then Napster would might have to raise the number of streams an artist need to make a dollar.
Yup completely true
It depends how much money you pay for Napster.
The amount paid out is per platform is in direct correlation to the amount of people they have listening so Spotify is bigger and gets 100 times the people listening to your song you are still making more off of Spotify in total. No song is going to get 100 million listens on napster sorry and if it does it would have billions on Spotify.
Yes that’s very true
This proves labels create this shit.. cause why isnt it one standard way to make stream money..why do different streaming services give dif percentages
Because streaming services need to calculate how much their charging and how many users they have and that differs
I have question is youtube like streaming piratebay? When I upload musican artist song and I get higher ratings. They might like it. But I when I upload different song or cheap song I get lower ratings. If I don't use music artist song due to copyrighted technology. This forbid me from uploading or use their songs. Do music artists produce for RUclips by RUclips have be like chain letter to get pay. Does anyone understand what I'm saying. RUclips acts like piratebay; stealing millions dollars from hard working music and artists. you are not mr. beast. how is mr beast different from music artist today?!?
I think I know what you’re getting at, but any unlicensed use will be demonetized and removed to my knowledge
Idk about that because I have a song that has 7k streams on Spotify and I've only made 47 cents
That is really weird… even worse!
@@BensMusicYT I've moved to ditto from United masters so hopefully it will be better
@@maleek5203 I hope so bro!
Thats the issue i have . Im with tune core , im a little over 1k streams through all the different platforms and barely seen $.50. I thought i understood but im just confused about all this stream pay stuff
@@GlamChatI moved to different platform and if the issue pursues then I'll just deal with it.
I wish I could get paid like how t pain is saying
But then is t pain lying or are the music distributors paying less than labels or are they stealing our money idk it's quite confusing tbh
Who use Napster? Meanwhile, everybody love Spotify
That’s very true
To be fair, Spotify is already paying out huge amounts as royalties and the company is even yet to be profitable. Spotify can’t go around trying to please the world, when they can’t even earn a profit. These artist complaining need to view Spotify as a platform for recognition and an opportunity to market themselves and not depend on it to put food on the table. Without platforms like Spotify these artist would have never been able to get noticed. 2 sides to every story I feel.
Hm I get what you’re saying, would be an interesting conversation
Its not true bro. Social media is there to make people go viral
Revenue sharing is a scam.
For the artist it is
So Drake gets 225.000$ a month from Spotify
I mean he’s one of the biggest and for that I don’t think that that’s like a lot
@@BensMusicYT true
Also you should not have a Voice in this Conversation if you are not paying for Spotify and just getting the free version
You saying I don’t do it or someone who doesn’t do it?
MUSIC STREAMING acts as if they own your music with an agreement on what you're paid. I feel anything to do with your music should be negotiated by you, not them dictating their terms. STREAMING SERVICES need you more than you need them. Recall how artists made MONEY before the internet? We still have the option, and sue anyone who duplicates your music. Streamers are like LEGAL bootleggers. 80% should be paid to MUSIC PRODUCERS and ARTISTS. Negotiate with online media like we do PUBLISHING. No media has a right to cut into your livelihood. So let's lay down the laws on your hard work.
Well yeah it’s up to the artists to decide if they want to put their music on the platforms and it does give them the chance to get discovered
The old groups didn't worry about that. And they were discovered by word of mouth and radio. When you're spoiled by today's
ferry dust old hard work seems impossible. @@BensMusicYT
I love knowledge. Keep schooling me🫡
Imma keep on doing it😤
