Exactly. I’m surprised this was even in the original cut. It was like the best part of this movie because it was the closest thing to Snyder’s vision, compared to the rest of the movie
this IS Zack's work
it doesnt matter if these shots are not appear in the Snyder cut, but the cinematography, the slow-mo is definitely Zack's signature, beside, Joss wont waste money on unnecessary scenes, Zack said he filmed 6hr of footages for the movie

The absolute irony.
That's "I tried" part, still hits me pretty hard. Definitely among few scenes that was actually good in Wheadon's JL.
I couldn’t understand it. What does it meant?
@@shubhangbahadur7112ll hope was lost after Superman died. There was also a subplot about how the mother boxes or something after Superman’s death caused people to start acting horribly. But that was only in the whedon cut.
Nah i think wedon know his movie will be suck so he excuse his failure by " i tried "
Got off to such a good start... And then the next hour and a half happened.
They should have kept that vibe throughout the film, maybe with some dark humor. Some better directors could have pulled it off.
Andrew Ford it’s Joss Wheedon’s fault sorry I don’t know how to spell his name. But he wanted to make the opening scene comedic.
Kamster Rook Batman's* opening scene.
Amit Zinman WB specifically ordered reshoots to lighten up the film. It would have most likely kept to this tone if Snyder was still there.
It's not just the tone, the entire script should have been better, there might have been reshoots but the entire oh there is someone powerful gonna kill everyone with cubes, come on, even the Transformers did it.
Amit Zinman I wish theu brought a good director in after man of steel. MoS was a good stepping stone for an other director to come in.
*Before Justice League*
"Uhhh this universe doesn't look good"
*After Justice League*
"This Universe needs more Snyder"
A bit rich of everyone to say Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman is too dark... and then do a complete 180 and say Justice League is too light-hearted... WHAT DO YOU WANT?!
@@pyromaniac2104 I thought Man of Steel and BvS were too dark (Especially when the main character is Superman), but this film tried too hard to be funny (The brunch monologue).
I just want something akin to the DCAU or Dark Knight Trilogy - Deep themes, bright colors, and some solid jokes, or darkness with some humor.
@@michaelcubed Man of Steel was more grounded than Dark. It's also a coming up story, so I didn't expect him to be the Superman we know right away.
@@michaelcubed when tf does the dark knight trilogy have bright colours????????

It’s just interesting that this scene, the most Zack Snyder thing this movie has, wasn’t done by Snyder. Or maybe it was done by Snyder but then he decided that he wanted to modify the intro for his director’s cut.
It's not Snyder.
The lightning looks like Joss
The scenes are snyder. The songs, color, and effects aren't. The Lois scenes are when she's visiting his memorial and right when she wakes up to say goodbye to Clark. The Martha scene was when she was at her Clark and Jonathan's graves.
Made by Snyder, edited by Whedon.
Not hard to see.
I was actually shocked to find out this sequence was added by Joss Whedon when it wasn’t included in the Snyder Cut but several scenes from it were sprinkled throughout the movie. This was the only good thing Whedon added to that godforsaken theatrical cut 😂
In my personal opinion the only good things about Josstice League were that one scene with Flash saving that family whom I guess speaks a foreign language, this opening and most of all it lead to the Snyder cut.
@@tellyheadedman2584 scene with this family was kinda cringe because the whole humor was based on Flash saying «Dostoevsky» (as writer Mikhail Fedorovich Dostoevsky) and not «Do svidaniya» (meaning «Goodbye»)
@@skullface9379 Even if the humor was out of place and cringe, it felt kinda heartwarming, I don't know maybe I just like it when the hero is being humble to the person/people that he/she just saved. But that's just my personal taste.
@@tellyheadedman2584 I respect your opinion, but strongly disagree! The civilians involved in the final battle honestly took away from the epic-ness and sense of urgency or the fight. Literally nobody cared about them we just wanna see Steppenwolf get his ass beat 😂
@@tellyheadedman2584 but the flash saving the entire fucking world was so much better. it concluded an amazing character arc. And i think the family scene could have been excecuted better to give that heartwarming feeling
This sequence is probably the only scene I like in 2017 version after watching the Snyder Cut. I read somewhere that "World Without Hope" moment was originally Snyder's so it's a shame it doesn't show up in Snyder's JL. However, I also do realize that some scenes used for it are actually Snyder's scenes later in the story, thus the clip sequence is far from perfect. Especially this random dude vandalizing fruit carts... I mean, that's supposed to be the symbol of Superman's abscense, seriously?
Same
The random dude has maga sweatshirt so its whedon scene cause hes obsessed with trump.
Coming back after the Snyder Cut, we finally got Justice for the characters we loved. Wish they kept this as the intro though, was the best part of Whedon’s movie.
The fact that it wasn’t in the final cut for the Snyder cut doesn’t mean Whedon made it. Zack obviously didn’t use all of his material, like the few deleted shots with Superman that were released after the theatrical cut - they didn’t make it to the final Snyder cut. and if I'm not mistaken, Snyder also said that he was the one who filmed the scene where Barry scribbles on someone's face, but it also didn't make it to the final Snyder cut. He probably didn’t want to use the same opening twice.
@@toottoot75 Zack Snyder never watched the Theatrical release and didn't film most of these scenes.
“Directed by Zack Snyder”
WB you did this while the man was grieving his daughter, you will forever be on our shit list for this.
Agree. Totally disgusting
After he gave them consecutive underperforming films this is all a business Hollywood has done shittier things
I am just gonna say it: I believe Warner Bros _deserved_ to be a target of harassment for messing with Zack Snyder's Justice League movie. Too many cooks spoil the kitchen! They ruined it by doing reshoots at a time that was inconvenient for everyone else, when Ben Affleck had gained a lot of weight and Henry Cavill grew a mustache for Mission Impossible Fallout that he was not allowed to shave off, so the CGI artists had to badly cover his mustache. The Honest Trailers guy was right, Warner Brothers could and should have delayed Justice League when Henry Cavill was in Mission Impossible Fallout. Maybe when Mission Impossible Fallout was finished, there would be no need to waste money on Joss Whedon reshoots and Zack Snyder could come back to finish the special effects for his Justice League. May 10, 2021, 6:22pm
I think it says that Snyder directed this shot rather than the theatrical version
Are you sure it wasn't in his contract?
That "I tried" was a lame excuse and lie by Whedon. He avoided blame by saying it was "directed by Snyder".
He doesn’t have a say in who get the credit and who doesn’t.
Joss didnt had "DIrected by Snyder" to avoid blame, he has no say over who gets credits, the Directors Guild of America are the ones to decide who gets credit for directing and they felt that despite the changes, to them this was still Zack's film, so they decided he had to get credit
@@eagc7 That was still rubbish because he did like 80% reshoot.
@@shahidmirza1138 " He doesn’t have a say in who get the credit and who doesn’t. "
Actually he did. Him and the Warners specifically made sure that the amount of Whedon footage used was not more than Snyder footage. That way the DGA would deem Snyder as the person who would get the credit as director. This was so no controversy would erupt that would make it clear before the release of the movie that this wasn't Snyder's movie.
@@eagc7 See my reply to shahid mirza right above yours.

Because this is his only original scene in the movie. Other scenes are cut and edited from Snyder's version that's why they're bad because Whedon was trying to shorten the film to 2 hours and add some more humour like Warner Bros wanted him to do. Rafael Silva Incorrect
He ruined DC’s chances to stand up against Marvel. I hate it too.
He didn't ruin it. DC ruined on their own.
Honestly this is the best scene of JL 2017.
Agreed
Snyder Cut opening was more eerie and set the dark tone for how his version will be💙
Ironically one of the things that felt the most like Snyder in this film - the use of a Leonard Coen song and this opening sequence in general - was Whedon
2:17 we know zack... We know
so sad!
1:47 without Superman the oranges and peaches will never be safe
Everybody talking to WB
Everybody wants a good DC movie
Before the universe goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows the Marvel plague is coming
Everybody knows that their movies come fast
Everybody knows that Christopher Nolan, is just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows that DC's falling apart
Take one last look at Snyder's best parts,
Before they go
Everybody knows
Then Aquaman comes to save the day......... followed by Shazam!
Woww I agree 😭😭😭
DC isnt falling apart, animated movies is their saviors
DC is not falling, the animated DC movies are really great. but WB don’t advertise properly on animated movies or tv shows like doom patrol, stargirl etc. stargirl was great many people knew. people didn’t know there was doom patrol s2 due to lack of advertisement. movies overall were between average and above average. let’s hope justice league is better than what we got
Aquaman is kinda shit. The only thing that saved it for me is the visuals.
Think this should have been kept in the new cut amazing opening
The fact that it wasn’t in the final cut for the Snyder cut doesn’t mean Whedon made it. Zack obviously didn’t use all of his material, like the few deleted shots with Superman that were released after the theatrical cut - they didn’t make it to the final Snyder cut. and if I'm not mistaken, Snyder also said that he was the one who filmed the scene where Barry scribbles on someone's face, but it also didn't make it to the final Snyder cut. He probably didn’t want to use the same opening twice.
@@toottoot75 Considering it uses footage from Snyder’s filmed scenes (such as the shot looking down at Lois at the memorial), I think it’s safe to say that this is a Whedon scene using a combination of new stuff he shot, plus some shots from Snyder’s scenes they cut.
Don't blame Josh for this. Blame WB. They didn't even give Joss the credits. Gosh I don't know whom to blame: Josh or WB
Warner Bros is 100% to blame. Sure, the stuff that Joss Wheadon came up with was stupid and ridiculous. But Warner Bros was the one that approved it and deemed it good enough to be released to theaters
The best of this parody
THE only GOOD thing that exists in JL!
The entire movie was good, get outta here, you payed to watch it
Edit: it’s a joke, the movie was good
Exactly. It was good because it was the only scene having a Snyder vibe in it, and it did great reducing scenes that were a bit too long and not necessary in Snyder’s Cut (like all the part where Lois mourns Clark)… but then… the rest of the movie happened…
*_"I tried"_*
I know some may see it as funny or even cringe but when you really think about it...in a world with no hope...
It's heart breaking, at least to me it is
For me it was sad
Whedon's credit curiously appears over it. I think he deliberately added that as a way of saying "Well hey, I know this isn't good but I was put in a shit situation here and did what I could".
@@JordanMgordan I heard that the "I tried" message on the sign was actually a message from Joss whedon but im not sure. I think he knew he wouldnt do well because he wasnt used to DC.
He’s coming back, it’s happening
Can't believe this scene is from Whedon idea
Same
I haven't watched snyder version yet, but i know he can make a better intro than this, gotta wait to see how it actually is
@@elpollito5690 I'm a big fan of Snyder and Snydercut is masterpiece. the whole intro is extended, but I still missed this scenes and this song.
Can you even imagine that actual WB Execs who get paid millions watched this cut and thought “yeah, release this.”
@JGreer17 Bro and that newspaper headline doesn’t even make sense, because it shows Superman in there as well. Like, they literally ended the previous movie with his funeral. I don’t think people would gossip that he is still around. Or even if they did, it was pretty much a stupid joke to include other famous people as aliens.
OK i had this thought in my head...Man of Steel was the beginning of a hero..Batman v Superman was the fall of that misunderstood hero...And Justice league was the rise Superman
BATMAN XD yea.......what’s your point?
That’s the point of the Zack Snyder Trilogy
But Joss fucked it
Well that's exactly what it was: Birth, death, resurrection. Zack made a lot of Jesus references with Superman.
Zack and the crew have said that thats how they planned it from the start. Nothing new here.
Everybody know except WB
it fucking rhymes tho
everybody knows
cept the warner bros
You suck
That not nice lol
Ahahahahahaha!!!
You didn't notice, but at: 2:09 it says: "Story by Zack Snyder", at 2:14 it says: "Screenplay by Joss Whedon" and at 2:17 it says: "I tried". 🤷🏻
Now that they won’t be using Henry Cavil as superman again this is very fitting
This IS a snyder scene, you can just tell. The song is great too.
It factually IS a Whedon scene
Cluelessly fail harder, pathetic fanboy
@@seancollins7172 fanboy of what? i dont like anything Whedon has done really, i kinda like Avengers 1 but i find it to be kinda boring.
Im no snyder fanboy either, so fanboy of what?
@@seancollins7172 nope it's a snyder scene the music was what was from whedon
The scene is from syder but the mic was changed by Whedon so there was a song that people would remember with the movie so you're both half right.
Sean Collins lmao butthurt much lol
The reason why this scene is damn good is that Snyder directed it. His vision can be seen here. The rest of the movie is just Whedon's and Warner's garbage.
@Yatsu If so, that's the only good thing he did to this movie.
@@KaiZurus LOL nice job painfully exposing yourself, clueless fanboy dunce
I hope Snyder keeps this intro for his cut.
☹️
:(
Shows how important songs are to a movie. It sets tone of the movie that a BGM can't. A hundred dialogues aren't equals to one poem beautifully rendered
Esta película es muy buena se las recomiendo a todo ustedede🤗☺
Putting Zack's name in the director's position was such an insult
??????
I know, let the people know who made this movie garbage, don’t hide Whedon behind Snyder
this opening for the snyder cut..would have been awesome
Directed By Zack Snyder?
No he didn’t.
Everybody Knows.
Definitely missed this sequence in the Snyder Cut
Still a great movie and wayy bettter than this justice league
Snyder cut confirmed for 2021!!!!! Official DC Twitter account and Zack Snyder both confirm!!!!
This is how the movie needs to start, the world without Superman, and ends with Clark in the alley, the Rise after the fall
Snyder cut
I almost cried when I saw this scene because Superman died and the world lost hope 😭😢
Sage Tan Me to
2:21 bottom right got me choked up.
Ricardo Mendoza I meant about Superman’s death
Come on. You knew he was coming back. I would be sobbing because of how they rush this this could’ve been perfect
Sean Harrison Ik but Superman is my hero.
Aquaman is the best DC movie now! but this opening was so much better!
Man I wish this song was in the snyder cut still. It would've fit perfectly but sadly it got cut out.
It's not that it got cut out. It was never in Snyder's Cut to begin with. Joss Whedon was the one that added it.
No! What for? This opening makes no sense and is completely dumb . Whedon-opening says something that will take a lot apart in the film . Zack's opening-carries lore information .
I really loved that the Justice League title is like a flag it gives me nostalgia to Justice League Heroes which is without a doubt the greatest Justice League Game of all time in my opinion
