  • The new S60 is Volvo’s answer to popular compact executive saloons like the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class, and differentiates itself from the rest with its cool, individual style and its plentiful technology, not to mention Volvo’s impressive reputation for safety.

    Easily the best review I've seen on this vehicle. Happy the journalist wasn't gushing like most about a fwd based "luxury" car. Very level review and it's greatly appreciated. Great work!

    An excellent car. I am 2 years in with my S90 and I must say it’s a fantastic car, real quality and presence. There really is a feeling of exclusivity that you won’t find driving a German brand from the usual suspects, as great cars that they are.

      @jeffs6090 5 лет назад

      Agreed. I'm 6 months into my XC40, and I utterly love it! The world wide demand for them is quite high, so it may be a bit more exclusive, as it is also newer than the S90. I've seen two others so far. The few the dealership gets in don't last long. Mine is a loaded Momentum black with red leather.
      I'd love to get my hands on this new S60, especially the Polestar Engineered trim!

    My man, I believe you’re confusing T6 with T8 when mentioning sensitive braking and accelerator. The T8 S60 Polestar would be that animal with its more powerful and regenerative brake system, and wound-up and electrified powerplant. The T6 is a very lovely and easy to live with package; our V90CC and V90 R-Design are equipped with the T6 unit, which gives a nice smooth acceleration in in Comfort mode, or spirited take-off when needed in Dynamic, but not touchy or over sensitive. The brakes are great performing with good solid pedal feel; much better than those on my former P3 V60 T6 R-Design.
    Folks, beyond the beautifully sculpted exteriors and modern well adorned interiors, these new Volvo’s are great drivers. One more thing: the crash avoidance and protection capabilities are the best in class. Check out the strict US IIHS crash test video, especially the Small Overlap; see how the Volvo is designed to deflect/careen off the barrier, rather than smash head-on with sudden immense impact forces. Only the safest for my child!

    Volvo have made improvements to the XC90 but not advertised the fact. Improvements include sound deadening around the wheel arches, wonder why they haven't mentioned them.

    It is beautiful like all new Volvos, but I just recently test drove the xc40, and in IMHO the sensus infotainment system is very dangerous, a huge mistake by Volvo. Very simple tasks like turning on/of the AC, the radio, ..., are very distracting. Perhaps you need to get used to it, but the lack of buttons or even a combination of touch screen/buttons , makes this volvo infotainment system not for everyone. I like technology and am familiar with smartphones, ipads, etc... Test drive the car and try the system , I believe it's not for everyone. The car was lovely yes, but this is a very important issue...

      I have an XC40 and the Sensus system is voice-activated to do all of the things you just described. If you can talk, it's not an issue.

      @@dantonacci67 voice activated systems not always work well. Also there are plenty situations you don't want to use a voice activated system ie during a phone call, long trip other people are sleeping in the car, ... enjoy the car, it's beautiful, it's just not for me... good luck if you have a cold and the car can't hear your voice if you want to raise the temperature. I also found the seats quite disappointing for a volvo ...

    I have purchased an S60 on the 2nd of July, 2018. It has just done over 5000kms. It broke down with a flat tyre while i was returning home from my hospital, both of which are hardly 2kms apart and located within the town limits. I stopped immediately, changed to the spare wheel and sent the vehicle to the service centre at Visakhapatnam immediately. They called me back after a couple of days and informed me that the tyre and alloy wheel have been damaged completely and needed to be replaced. I haven't crossed at least 30kmph speed on my way home and there isnt a single bump that could lead to a damage of that scale. So is the company fooling its customers with such poor tyres and alloy wheels. If a tyre can get damaged at 30kmph what will be the risk of getting damaged when Im at high speeds. This proves that Volvo cars being safe is a myth. I don't want to take my car back. I dont find it secure for me and my family. Its a disgrace on the part of your company to cheat its customers with such cheap products. The worst part is the company not talking any responsibility and showing its least concern towards the problem. I will make sure that I'd enlighten as many people as i can from not buying a Volvo car. Thank you people for royally making a fool of me and my hard earned money.

      As I've have already commented in another post, I had a tire go down, left rear, on the highway, at 60 mph. My S80 did not react in a crazy to this. The car stayed straight as I was able to safely get off the roadway. I'd say that was pretty safe for handling under the circumstances.
