I believe for the sake of better English you were trying to convey the thought more accurately was "words" not "syllables." I will add Dame Maggie Smith has been a childhood favorite of mine. That early 20th century sass and witty repartee is an accreddit to her acting skill.

I threw my head back and laughed when I first heard & saw that scene.
The casting of Shirley Maclaine was such a masterstroke. Maggie Smith is a legend unto herself, and Shirley was so good in the scenes they had together. I just realised that they are of the same age in real life too!
The thing is, because of her wit, throughout the whole 6 series I could barely tell when she’s really angry or serious. 😂😂

I loved loved loved The Dowager! Her mannerisms and quick wit were always on point. Some of the funniest scenes are between her and Isabel. Truthfully, I don't know how the rest of the cast kept their composure. Mrs. Hughes was funny too, I would like to see someone put together a video of her funny, shady, moments with Mr. Carson, Mrs. Patmore, Barrow, and Miss O'Brien.
Hahaha - she has so many one liners that are hilarious. She's close to how Niles is on the Nanny.
