7:44 I'm so glad that Bob Odenkirk brought that up, every time I watch the "better call saul" episode of BB it always made me wonder "how are the writers going to get Jimmy to that version of Saul"
Jimmy McGill isn't just a character for a television series , but more of an INSPIRATION to never give up NO MATTER WHAT. Thankyou Sir,Odenkirk for Mr McGill 😍
That was great - a really good conversation and Bob is so honest and insightful - shares a lot of my thoughts both backward looking and predicting how the next season will pan out - there must be a cross over into Breaking Bad???
His brother broke him- he was shooting to be something his brother would acknowledge and look at as proud to be- and you see jimmy has love in him because he cares so deeply for his brother- but that betrayal tore his moral compass even if it was tender apart
I think so too. At some point Jimmy would always feel compelled to right his wrongs or fix things even if it meant going back to the starting point (like with the old ladies etc), but when Chuck died and Howard blamed himself, Jimmy just let him do that, even tho Howard told him the suicide was likely cause of the malpractice insurance issue (that Jimmy caused for him). I feel like the old Jimmy would've relieved Howard from this burden, but at that point Jimmy changed. It makes sense for the whole series too that his brother would have an enormous impact on jimmy not just cause of their paths while he was alive, but that his death and the circumstances would cause a big change
Kim wants to feel good with Jimmy she's letting her guard down. You're a great team. People sort of feel sorry for Jimmy because of the way he is. Such a great show. 😍
Classic Schalia!! This show is phenomenal. Bob is phenomenal EVERYONE INVOLED from apple boxes to quarterback is phenomenal. The multiple season arc to the payoff of The Winner.... fucking brilliant. Everything we’ve seen and heard to that point PAYS OFF. I stood up and stared at the TV with my jaw agape. Chuck and Jimmy. Wow. Ugh. the pain Jimmy is trying to survive, makes my gut ache for him. How these episodes get shot in 10 days is unbelievable. The talent from top to bottom is astounding. Breaking bad has NOTHING on BCS. Thx for the video!
Building a character must be complicated to feel real to an audience. People are very complicated normally. These writers do a very great job with character development. That’s the number one thing I liked in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
The first time I saw Bob Odenkirk in something was on Seinfeld, where he was Elaine's boyfriend and he was in med school but couldn't pass the MCAT! And Elaine just wanted to introduce him as Doctor! LOL!
Great interview! I was late getting into saul..I watched breakin bad many times and finally gave it a go... It starts slow..the action level is more low key than BB, but as the seasons progress and the BB characters filter in, It Really gets interesting! The whole Kim dynamic is ,I agree, fascinating...It almost looks like Jimmy has corrupted the seemingly "pure" kim... In truth though, you Cannot corrupt someone who did not Already have the seeds of that corruption In them... Interesting to see how it plays out...I dont see them killing off kim either, she is too important a part of the show.
This what I like about Better Call Saul. The forbid themselves in writing schmuck baits. This made them highly respectable and mature in the artistic sense. This can only be found in highly original writers who are not in adapting works of other writers, There are great shows that went downhill because of Schmuck baits like Walking Dead and Game of Thrones.
Great interview. My thoughts are within the unknown easter eggs in Breaking Bad's Saul Goodman commercials. There is a movie that Jimmy and Kim watch in an episode and I can't remember the name of the movie off the top of my head, but we see that movie title in 1 or more commercials. Jimmy also says make out your checks to this LLC whatever that's set up. I think there will be some tragedy in season 6. I think we will see Kim and Jimmy split to protect her. I think he uses the "vacuum shop" to get her out. In the flash forwards that are post Breaking Bad. We see Jimmy struggle and he is missing Kim and in my opinion and the yearly phone call that's supposed to happen, is to her. But since season 5 wrapped showing Kim has the ability to step over into a darker side.......I think she is ultimately the puppet master over Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad and she is the unknown "behind the scenes" curator of the unknown LLC where Jimmy has his earnings sent minus what he keeps in his safe.........So I don't think she dies in season 6. But because of the forging between Better Call Saul and the Breaking Bad timeline converging. They can't be together and Jimmy knows he has to hide her from Lalo and everything else. Even though we know Lalo is gonna whacked in this season. Jimmy has to find a way to get her out to keep her safe. What happens in the flash forward is what I'm most interested in. How does Jimmy handle "taking care" of his problem being discovered at the mall. Does Jimmy get reunited with Kim........do they both get captured and killed in the end...........or in the end is it all good man! Right now the only one we know that gets out alive into their new life is Jesse. Can hardly wait for season 6!!
I saw the last scene as showing Kim being very disappointed in Jimmy. Her face of disbelief and let down when he basically told her his emotional speech to the board was nothing but bullsh*t.
I think Chuck was right, the James McGill character is the front, the real guy is slippin' Jimmy/Saul Goodman. I think Saul is the real guy, Jimmy is the fake alter ego created to please his brother. Also on Kim's character, at this point in the show I would not be surprised to learn that they were still together in Breaking Bad, just not ever shown.
I'm kind of baffled by Bob saying, "yeah it would still be fun to see what happens to Saul but now the mystery is who is Kim" ok, yeah it's important to see what happens to Kim and why she's acting that way, but is crucial because of how is going to affect HIS CHARACTER. The big mystery of the show still is how Jimmy becomes Saul because the Jimmy we saw in the last episode is nowhere near the Saul from BB. I think he's downplaying the importance of his character, damn, he's the star of the show.

I never saw a cast that seems to be so intrigued by the show and their characters.
The cast of GLOW are similarly invested. I love hearing them talk about the show.

God, Bob Odenkirk is the BEST. 🥰
i wish this show would do 10 seasons, i hate when good shows end
Can't wait for season six. Also I watched the whole of Undone on Amazon today because of Mr Odenkirk and it blew me away.
i just finished undone too, can't wait for season 2
I loved this video. Bob Odenkirk is the best. He gave such good explanations to the characters holy crap 👌🏻🙏🏻😤
Kevin Costner's younger brother?
No Kevin Costner himself.
Cousin
Also a young Paul Newman dressed like Matlock
THE Kevin Costner
Costner and John McEnroe
Jimmy McGill isn't just a character for a television series
, but more of an INSPIRATION to never give up NO MATTER WHAT.
Thankyou Sir,Odenkirk for Mr McGill 😍
Really interesting and thoughtful interview
Who doesn’t love this guy?😊👍🏾
Everyone in breaking bad had their satisfying ending!
I wish kim and Jimmy have the same too!!
prayer circle 🙏 🙏 🙏
bob plays jimmy with such nuance, so wonderful. Yes, and Kim is so mysterious...
That was great - a really good conversation and Bob is so honest and insightful - shares a lot of my thoughts both backward looking and predicting how the next season will pan out - there must be a cross over into Breaking Bad???

Great interview! Loved his attention to the host and definitely loved the host approach!

Great convo btw is that a mesa verde lamp behind bob?🤔

6:57 Maybe because Jimmy had a few times where he could've "stopped," too.
Oh, Bob! Most attractive man on the planet *sigh*
Yes who is Kim has me literally impatiently waiting for season six
Sad to see Bob is not like Saul... So much different, true professional but at least Saul has some things people and I love...
Bob and tom hanks are folks who were put in a situation and they did well with it. Neither of them are anything more than anyone else.

Wow 👍🏿🙏🏿 this is
"We're not killin' Badger, yo!"
8:00 - bob odenkirk says the exact same thing that I did in my recent video about saul making a comment on Francesca’s ass.👀🙏🏻
Bob ❤❤ 3:01 16:47

Bob looks like Chuck
Michael McKean was an excellent choice for Saul's brother
F**k it. I'm just gonna say it. Bob Odenkirk is cute!
correct
It really bothers me that Bob doesn't like Saul.
Hi Jimmy!
Could season 6 be about Kim?
10:39 best part
7:14 Andrea

Yeah it was a classic from 1940; “His Girl Friday!! Cary grant
'HT!' Hunny T#ts! The remark he makes 2his assistant and she tells him off! But he says it, anyway!
I saw the last scene as showing Kim being very disappointed in Jimmy. Her face of disbelief and let down when he basically told her his emotional speech to the board was nothing but bullsh*t.
Porno Gill from Curb your Enthusiasm. Great performances by Bob in everything he does!
Better Shout Erhmentraut!

Bob couldn't be more wrong about BCS fans...I started watching BB just to get a chance to see Jimmy Mc Gill again:)
Jimmy please go home to Kim🙏

It was Brock and Andrea
Haha.. golf. If only he knew
I think Kim just really hates Howard personally, and do not mind destroying it for the "greater good".
Sixseasonsandamovie

Kim wrote that Letter.
