      Hey 💗💗💗! Thank you for your time! I'm from Zimbabwe, and i was just wondering why Emirates does not hold recruitment days in some African countries like Namibia, Zambia Zimbabwe, Malawi etc, I know a lot of people who travel to South Africa to attend the assessment, by bus or they fly. Talk about passion! 💗

      Hi Veronica, thanks so much for sharing your experience and story within Emirates; I have watched some of your videos and really find your channel interesting. Thanks for the insights into the life in Emirates. I specially make sense of everything you tell and see your views as I am a crew member. This is definitely the best job in the world in the best Airline in the world, but I believe that people lose their identities because they don't keep their eyes open and get drifted away with the challenging everyday work that implies the role, but not because of the company as such,... most people forget investing time in their self-awareness, psychological and physical well-being, so they get burnt out and can't enjoy the experience any longer. Or they haven't shaped their identities at all, then it is an issue of lack of self-knowledge and maturity, which in my view is important to have with certainty as a social environment (i.e., a company or an organization) is not going to tell one one's identity. I suppose that everyone also undergoes through different life stages and that their aspirations and ambitions change.

    I completely understand you because right now im experiencing the same thing you experienced when you left emirates...im not a cabin crew yet but im thinking of becoming one. The last years i feel stuck with my life and i feel like im not doing something that makes me happy.I'm 22 and i'm currently in university which is the only think that keeps me from leaving my country, because even though i dont really like my major, i know that being cabin crew is not something im gonna do for all my life and if things go wrong i will probably need a backup plan. The truth is i want to become a flight attendant not only because i want to travel but also because i want to find my self, i want to find what i like and i think this job will help me. Thank you so much for making this videos, in the last few days your channel really helped me❤️

    Hey there Veronica! Glad to see your videos popping in my youtube algorythm. I was a crew for 3 years back in 2008 to 2010 and used to run a written EK blog (at the time alongside Melissa from Tampax Towers / Greta and a few other OG bloggers) of my travels and how to get in the airline with tips and tricks called Airboy. My staff number was 390064 (still remember it : goes to show how "cult-like" and deranged it felt to work for them) and got a truck load of spicy stories backed up with pictures and first hand account tea...I totally feel aligned with the horror stories you've been through and would be happy to share some experience with you after 10 years out of the golden cage EK life was. Anyway, keep up the content and good omen for your future endeavours.
    Best, Ben aka Sodwee / AIrboy.

    Death of a baby on board. So sad and traumatic. Which year did that happen ? It takes years for most employees to recover from something like this.

    • @amindfulnomad

      It was very sad, it happened in 2019. I had another flight the next day and had a panic attack onboard. I asked my manager for a day off or 2 after that so I could recover because I wasn’t sleeping. She told me to call in sick and then gave me crap about it. She said she “didn’t understand why the incident had bothered me so much.” Lovely and empathetic person 🫠🫠🫠 luckily she’s not at Emirates anymore.

      @@amindfulnomad Nasty person the manager. It's traumatic even when someone 85 or older dies on board. A baby or a kid is beyond words. Tragedy. I am shaken just hearing about it.

    Thank you for your information. I have a question. I think they choose girls in abundance, meaning 15 girls for every 4 boys. This is for the sake of business and image. Are there other criteria they are looking for in candidates, such as languages, diplomas, or being Arab?

    • @amindfulnomad
      @amindfulnomad  29 дней назад +1
