  • Would a stay in Manila, The Philippines, really be complete without a visit to Binondo, the oldest Chinatown in the world!? In our opinion, no… hehe. We start the day by strolling through our new neighbourhood of Malate. Here we pass by one of the hearty local breakfast options. Dylan simply couldn’t say no! We continue our walk through the local parks and even pass by a beach! Finally, we reach Chinatown, where we eat as much as possible. In true 2passports1dream fashion, we make sure that it’s mostly desserts and sweet treats! What an amazingly delicious start to the day here in Manila.

      What a walk that was ü
      Some traditional dishes to consider being pesca myself:
      • Grilled boneless _Bangus:_ grilled milk fish with vegetable stuffing, usually chopped tomatoes, onions and leek; some with ginger. Most grilled fishes also provide the veggie _ensalada_ sides;
      • Any of the local veg stew with fish, typically:
      -- _Guinataan_ or _Gata_ (ie. coconut milk): with squash, string beans / with _ampalaya_ (bitter gourd) / with young jackfruit but do ask bec most version have pork instead; or any _guinataan_ fishes or ginataang _gulay_ (vegetable/s);
      • Veg salads ("ensalada"), depending on where and what's available; usually with tomatoes and onions in vinegar: Ampalaya salad, Green Papaya (this one is specifically called _atchara_ like chutney but sweeter and lighter without the spices); tHere's also Green mango salad by itself or with shrimp paste or fish sauce;
      • Tortang Talong (eggplant): Grilled eggplant, skinned and fried in beaten egg like an omelet (the "torta") but the eggplant is whole flattened, not squashed;
      • Chopseuy: some variations are all-vegetable but not those served in street canteens. Restos that cook it upon order may prepare one without the meats
      (PS You missed Quan Yin Chay in Chinatown, a vegetarian resto.) Bon appetit!
      Driving into Metro Manila traffic yourselve during the holidays? That will be an adventure for sure. Travel safely!

      BEST TOURIST SPOTS IN MAKATI CITY, MANILA (Check it out in RUclips) Hello Myer Travels I highly recommend to visit this places in Makati City, Manila , THE FINANCIAL CENTER OF THE PHILIPPINES.
      1. Stroll Along Ayala Triangle Gardens, it is a triangular open park located in the middle of Makati Avenue, Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas Street. It is similar in the Central Park in New York which provides city dwellers and tourists an open green space to work out and enjoy nature.
      2. Visit Yuchengco Museum in Makati City, located in RCBC Plaza and it is a beautiful art and design gallery established by the former Philippine Ambassador Alfonso Yuchengco. The three-level museum is home to many paintings from Filipino masters, photos of the founders meetings with world leaders, and a collection of Jose Rizal memorabilia.
      3. Have a Great Time at Greenbelt Mall Complex. Greenbelt has a total of five shopping areas from Greenbelt 1 to 5. All five are located at the heart of Ayala Center, with Greenbelt 5 as the newest and most upscale of all five shopping areas. There are water fountains, a chapel, sculptures, a pond and towering trees that provide people shade even during midday.
      4. Enjoy at Glorietta Mall Complex. Glorietta was once an open park used by a local film company to shoot a youth-comedy drama. After it's conversion into a shopping complex, the first Glorietta Mall was opened in 1991 & has quickly become an iconic shopping and entertainment destination for families & tourists.
      5. Relax at Salcedo Park in Makati City, which is also known as Jaime C. Velasquez Park, is the Home of Art in the Park. The yearly event features a huge collection of printed works, sculptures, paintings and more that you can purchase.
      6. Hang-out at Washington Sycip Park, is a wonderful and quiet place to take a leisurely stroll in between meetings. The park has also several sculptures by Filipino sculptor Impy Pilapil, a gazebo, and piped-in music.
      7. See Relics at Museo ng Makati. The building was built in 1918 and has served as the Makati Town Hall until 1961. Today, the museum holds a collection of murals, artifacts, rare and old photos of Makati, dioramas, and relics of Makati's rich cultural history.
      8. Contemplate at Saint Andrew the Apostle Church. Located in Bel-Air II, and was designed by Filipino National Artist Leandro Locsin in 1968 and was dubbed as a modern-looking church.
      9. Shop Until You Drop at Powerplant Mall. It is located in Rockwell Tower, an area that is known as a "city within the city" and it is a favorite go-to place for the rich and celebrities.
      10. Have Fun at Circuit Makati. It is the newest addition to Makati City's list of top-notch shopping destinations. Located at the old Sta. Ana racetrack and it is a recreational hub with great facilities the families can enjoy. There are also sports facilities here including a football field (Gatorade Chelsea FC Blue Fitch), a skate park (Mountain Dew Skate Park), and a kart racing facility

    Hi guys. About Chinese Fresh Lumpia, as far as i know, it doesn't have meat. It's also one of my favorites and we even sometimes make it ourselves. But we do add Chicken cube (or buillon) to the veggies just to add more flavor to it. But the ones sold in shops, maybe they use some meat stock.
    As for our other veggie dishes, here are some recommendations:
    Adobong Kangkong (water spinach)
    Pinakbet (assorted local veggies with Bagoong which is shrimp paste)
    Laing (Taro leaves cooked in coconut milk with chillies)
    Lumpiang Ubod
    Lumpiang Togue
    Tortang Talong (Taste Atlas' World's Best Egg Dish)
    Ginisang Ampalaya with Egg (a little bitter because Ampalaya is bitter gourd)
    Ginataang Sitaw at Kalabasa
    Monggo Guisado
    However, some of these are hard to come by when you eat out, tbh. You need to go to a Filipino restaurant. I recommend eating at Singing Cooks and Waiters. The FiIipino food there is not just great, you have a lot of fun and great entertainment as well. :)
    About our Ube, it's actually sad coz i heard other Asian countries are now planting and even exporting it. That's becoz farmers here lack the support of the government. But yeah, just want to let you know Ube originated here. :)

    You can get good Chinese Food at the Shopping Malls. For fast food, try ChowKing which is usually always packed. For better quality at a higher price, try eating at NorthPark. I also recommend eating at Savory Chicken, Gerry's Grill and Max's Fried Chicken. To get a taste of a wide variety of local dishes, try the Cabalen Buffet. There's usually a HenLin food stall at the food court of any SM Mall. Their Hopia and Somai are comparable to what you can get at Binondo Chinatown.

    unfortunately Filipinos are very fond of Meat especially pork but I think there are still things that you can try being a pescatarian.
    1. Pancit bihon (can substitute pork with shrimp)
    2. Pinakbet (can substitute pork with local fish called galung gong)
    3. Laing (taro leaves in coconut milk - but some resto still put pork in it so you can ask the cook to ommit the pork.)
    4. ensalada talong (eggplant salad)
    5. chop suey ( creamy veggie mix - just ask the chef since some resto put chicken breast)
    6. ginataan gulay (squash string beans in a coconut milk usually with shrimp)
    7. Sinigang sa Miso / sinigang Bangus (milk fish sinigang)
    but if you guys wanna try Filipino vegetarian food then I recommend

    Try your best to be at a high-rise building within Metro Manila or Metro Cebu with an all-around view on New Year's Eve until after 1:00am to watch the fireworks. Be sure to vlog that. The vibe is unforgettable.

Then, later the HIGH END Areas in Greater Manila see the beauty, PH has, experiencing from old to most modern environtment..

    If you ever have time, try visiting the nothern part of the country. Specifically the ilocos region, Cordillera region, and the province of Batanes which is considered the most beautiful province in the country. Ilocos is famous for their beaches. Cordillera region is known for being mountainous and cold climate. And batanes, well the whole province of Batanes is pretty much the tourist spot.
    Also you should try looking up las casas Filipinas de Acuzar in bagac, bataan which is pretty close to manila. The place is pretty much a recreation of what the Philippines look like hundreds of years ago. But if you don't have time for that then you can just go to las casas in Quezon city which is a smaller version of las casas.
    Also since you're asking for a vegetarian food, then I'd recommend you to try "pinakbet".
