Fabulous video - thank you for sharing such great animal moments and your lovely family. How did you get your bikes to the zoo? Do you have bike racks on your car? What type? Thank you.😍

Thanks so much! So we stayed at the nearby caravan park and rode our bikes to the zoo. It's only a 10-minute easy flat ride to get there. Yes, we do have a bike rack. At the time, we had a sedan, so we used a boot mounting rack that worked a treat. Got it off ebay for about $120 from memory 🤙

Nice video! unlike our visits in 1974/1999 Im a bit crook to ride a bike. Does the safari cover all animals or would we need to walk?

The safari covers most your African animals. Giraffes, rhinos, zebra, antelopes and ostrich etc. I think they do a lion enclosure safari too, but it wasn't operating while we were there. You could easily drive, the walks from the carport to enclosures are generally only short

Great work. Is the whole zoo accessible on bike and do you happen to know how many kms and how long it takes to ride the whole thing?

I think the main loop is around 4-5km.. but there's plenty of smaller tracks that run off that to different enclosures. All of which, are accessible by bikes.
I definitely recommend bikes. Most of the animals are only a couple of hundred metres apart so plenty of stop/starting in a car. You can ride right up to the fences too.
We did it over 2 days, (it's a 2 day ticket) 5ish hours on day one and 3 or so on day 2. First half is basically a slight incline the whole way. Must say it takes it out of you, especially if you're carrying a passenger! Once you get to the top waterhole it's a cruise home..
