All year round people can watch sports without the Owners sacrificing that much profit either. ⚾️ April-October. 🏈 September-February. & 🏀December-July. That way the only dead month really is March and August. but NBA Allstar festivities would be in March and hopefully a 1v1 tournament. Winner gets a no-trade clause and $5mil or something.
@@ExilixEI've wanted to see 1 on 1 matchups for so long! I think it could be an awesome part of the allstar break. They could crush it from a money standpoint. It could even be a pay per view event like a fight night. The players would have an incentive to participate if the league put the cash on the line.
It could also end some of the stupid debates about who the best individual players are.
@@ExilixE that’s a good idea. Ever since the Ball brothers got into the league I suggested a 2v2 game of the Curry brothers vs Ball brothers. Something different for all star weekend at least. Incentivizing a win for any all star game is the key. Good idea.
I still don’t get it but I’m not trying too. This ain’t gonna make these dudes take the season more seriously. So why am I interested. They will definitely sit out these games too.
I like that the nba is trying to change things up and keep things exciting but there needs to be a bigger reward like a +3games to your win total giving you a cushion to assure you make playoffs. Something more valuable than a trophy that doesn’t mean anything.
Should of been a pre season tournament 🤣🤣🤣
I like it. These players are now playing for something in the middle of the season. They’re will get paid more to win something else and won’t slack off in games.
Pls explain why theres game right now??
Welp I won’t be watching until the ACTUAL playoff start 😂
No offense, no shade at all... But you were probably doing that regularly, anyway, right? It's a long season.
Yeah right !
How can you have a "Random Draw based upon last seasons record"?
Either its random..or its based upon last seasons record...
It’s good & all for regular season, but hopefully this doesn’t contribute to players getting injuries bcuz they’re trying to compete hard for this in-season tournament!
So what happens in June?
I still do t get it? Why? I dont und e stand someone please help me understand
Why not just give the champion of in season tournament guaranteed +10 game wins?
Not only they’re gonna play harder & it’ll actually mean something.
Rookie here. Can someone explain to me what the matches between pre-season and in-season are good for?
Preseason games - basically practices before the season to get a look at younger players and make final decisions for your roster before the real season starts
Regular season games - games that contribute to your win loss record which determines whether you make the playoffs to compete for a championship
In-season-tournament games - nobody really has a fucking clue because it’s the first year and kinda stupid so we’re all just kinda figuring out on the fly.
@@rashaanmungo Thank you for clearifing. For the record, I like to watch the Boston Celtics. They have won 4 games now before the group play. These games will have an impact on the bracket/championship which takes places in June 2024(?)
@@norwayguy7649
The regular season has 82 games - all of these games will count towards who gets to play in the final tournament for the championship - this tournament is called the playoffs.
The games of November will be both in-season tournament games and regular season games. Meaning if a team wins 10 games in November. All of those games will count in the in-season tournament AND count towards the total games at the end of the year which will determine the brackets of the final tournament for the NBA championship.
October - regular season games
November - in-season tournament games & reg. season games
December - in season semi finals / finals & reg. season games
Jan - April - regular season games
May - playoff tournament games
June - NBA Finals
It’s a Win win for Nba it got even more competitive and tough for players.
this mad confusing so how does this count to your regular season record and say a team with a bad team wins do they get a automatic playoff spot?
Honestly I think this is great it’s almost like a finals at the beginning of the season I understand it’s not as important but I genuinely want this to succeed the only thing bad I think is gonna come from it is injuries for sure 😅
Ok Mr. optimistic
@@rjjohn2241 Bud it is a good thing, take the biggest sport in the world by example, football, soccer for you guys. They play the league, cups and the best teams plays either champions, or libertadores, titles that are played by the best teams against the best in continent. They also play supercups, where the previuos winner from the league and cup, or european and south america super cups, where like, the previous winner from continent title first and second league, and other titles with their national team, Player can win multiple titles in their carrer, and players from smaller teams have a chance to compete for more than one title, thats is a great great thing, the only one league in american sport system is the only thing that ruins american sport system, because you guys have and amazing format of leagues and etc
People get injured in reg season all the time. This the same thing
We show pentagrams don’t hide anymore
What’s up with all the pentagrams?
Winning should give that team a higher draft pick
Brad or Dame gonna win a trophie 😂
Dame ain't winning any trophies
Who's brad?

I think winner of the tournament should get home court if they make the playoffs regardless of record but still have to qualify for the playoffs
Or winner get more extra balls during lottery pick
Let's just do a light skin vs dark skin tournament and get the debate out the way...
I hope you know im kidding.
I believe it's a commercial with a great entertainment value. It's done a lot in soccer. At some point invite D-league to participate
Im actually excited for it!
This seems fun, it shakes up the beginning of the season where the games don’t matter much. I’m definitely gonna be watching
Yeah now with all bench players in the games really won’t matter
should also have a most improved team award at the end of the season then
What high stakes?
In reality that's dope you can win 2 trophies in one year that's clutch
So what’s the point? Tournament champion? Are they going to start counting these like NBA Finals or something.. I really don’t get it lol
Why though
I love the in season tournament idea, hopefully it will make them compete harder during the regular season.
Pathetic attempt at making nba competitive
@@MaximusTheChosenOne
how is it pathetic? they do tournaments in soccer and it literally makes it more competitive. idk everyone is hating on it lol
@@darrenharris9787 you have no idea what you are even saying
They’re already competing like it’s the playoffs and the regular season just begun
Now injures will be a problem and the finals are going to suck...Most players have a lot of miles on them by the time reach the NBA. The need these these rest games to gear up for the Finals..
I guess adding a trophy to regular season games adds a slightly more entertaining component and teams will try just a bit harder
So is this a way to give people more hardware to chase legends? Cause an in season tournament win and an NBA finals win isn't even close.
it will be good if NBA give the 2 extra spots not to a wild card, but to G League and NCAA champions
Should start basketball from the week after thanksgiving - til May. And make Mid-July Finals time that way all-year round people can watch sports without the Owners sacrificing that much profit either. ⚾️ April-October. 🏈 September-February. & 🏀December-July. That way the only dead month really is March and August. but NBA Allstar festivities would be in March and hopefully a 1v1 tournament. Winner gets a no-trade clause, automatic eligibility for a supermax contract, $10mil and make a deal to be on the cover of the 2K game/sports magazine or something. Something to super incentivise even the superstar players. Should be a requirement of being a starter or sixth man/most improved player past 5 years or avg like 25+ mpg. I'm not sure what it would be. and have different height classes like 6"4-below/PG or SG, 6"5-6"9/Guard-Forward, 6"10-above/PF or C
Someone at the NBA front office watched Semi-Pro this summer #FlintMegaBowl
does the winner get to the playoffs auto? if not .. they should get 4 seed auto
I have been saying for years that it's weird that American sports only play for 1 Cup. 80 games 1cup. I will definitely be watching this.
I imagine this is shortening the 82-game regular season by a bit?
0:36 whats with the satanic stars
People talking about injury, the tournament will have no difference than the regular season. They didn’t add the tournament they incorporated it. Everyone will still play just 82 then go to the playoffs, accept for the 2 teams that make it to the finals who will play 1 single game more (83 total now) on December 9th. Again only 2 teams receive 1 “extra” game each.
And getting there makes 200k, win and everyone on the team gets 500k.
Not bad, just wish it had more impact, either permanent minimum play in team, or maybe a guaranteed home court advantage through the playoffs (seeding be dammed).
I like this. It reminds like soccer with the champions leagus the regular season and each nations has a domestic cup. Makes it more exciting. 👏🏼
I would say more like the FA cup of the premier league or like supercopa of the liga. Champions league is more if European and South American teams joined the nba’s elite teams to determine the winner
@@JAPARICAN50-50exactly, and just like the FA cup, good teams will rest their starters in favor of giving bench players opportunities. This could be good since bench players usually have lower salary therefore they’d have an incentive to play harder and win. But that also means the quality of basketball you’re getting is not as good. Doesn’t really make sense imo but we’ll see how it works
@@almightysosa3007 well said my guy
It’s worth a try but I think the results should have immediate implications of the final playoff picture. That will make the in-season tournament worth playing. Millionaire players would probably rather rest than make an extra 50-500K. Just my opinion.
The winner should get home court throughout the playoffs.
Aren't the teams that do well going to end up playing more than 82 games?
Only thing I hate, is the colors on the court
no need for a in season tournament, just have less overall games so each game means more to contending for the ring. too many games is what is making people watch it less, its all meaningless till the end of the season. Look at Football, USA stops every Sunday cause there are only a few games and each game has purpose
The games should count as double wins towards the season record. This way there's more that is at stake for the games
nba should use sound effects during the real game too... the game sounds better
Im just learning about this now but it seems stupid af
I think itd be better if the winner gets the number 1 draft pick instead. The runner up gets the 2nd, etc.
i dont get it ! where the heck team 4 came from ???
I actually like this gives. Them a reason to hoop
This is good, american focused more on nba university basketball than NBA regular season because it is too long, with this format it will make regular more competitive and Christmas as more fun.
Someone explain the quarter finals!! Is it an added game or have they scheduled every possible matchup ahead of time?
Should’ve added #1 draft pick to the winner
