    There are lots of great guitar players in japan but Hide can't be forgotten. I'm a guitar player from the Philippines I'm not famous but I can shred and I've always uses Hide's scale run style, slide and bend, hamer amd pull up on my improvisation .

    I was looking for a particular name on this list but realized early on that this is a list composed of modern players. All seem incredibly talented, but the tragedy in that approach is that you miss two Japanese players that were probably inspirations for your entire top ten. The first one is awesome to me, Shoyo Aida, from EZO. He is as good as or better than this entire list, but he is not better than Akira Takasaki from Loudness. He is badly underrated in America, but I thought he would get his due on this list. I understand why not, but I encourage all of you younger fans, if you like people on this list, I guarantee you that they were all heavily influenced by the names I mentioned. Check them out if you have a chance.

      Hide died in 98 so not modern but I agree him and Akira and maybe Tak Matsumoto are probably the most influential Japanese players

    You need to rename this list as your "Top 10 Japanese Shredders from the last decade." How can you not even mention players like Char, Tak Matsumoto (Grammy Award Winner), Tomoyasu Hotei, Issei Noro, Masayoshi Takanaka, Shigeo Naka (from the "Surf Coasters"), or Kazumi Watanabe? C'mon!

    Not gonna lie, pretty much all the musicians Babymetal has had have been my favorites of the last decade. Such a high talent pool coming out of the Kami-Band all the time. Even their latest American team has been pretty decent. I'd say my probably top 5 overall in no order is Head, Zakk, Eddie, Mikio Fujioka, and Jerry Cantrell.

    No Machiya (Wakaggi band)? :O That guy is a beast on guitar :O And to bel fair, hide has better guitar solos than Rusty nail 🤔 As for X Japan in general, I always felt that everyone was overlooking Pata. His skills (when he was given the chance) were really, really awesome.

    • @micahclark24
      @micahclark24 4 года назад +5

      Yeah and personality wise was the complete opposite of Hide which was a quite interesting coincidence and for the majority of his career he was an alcoholic being drunk as can be on stage Pata has his own instrumental band called RA:IN Pata is overlooked cause he is a rhythm guitarist and doesn’t like doing solos but anyone that can play all the way through art of life then do like 8 more songs without a single mistake While drinking hard liquor throughout
      Is damn impressive

    • @micahclark24
      @micahclark24 4 года назад +1

      Also I think it’s weird how everyone overlooks Tak Motsumoto when his band has sold more albums than any other musical group in Japanese history and almost more than this whole list combined He is overrated but I would at least put him around 8th place he is really good

      @@aidenmeyerbasschannelI’m not much of a fan of B’Z aside from a few songs but Tak is definitely a top of the line player and writer you would think being the best selling band in Japanese history would put him somewhere on this list just for influence (with 40 consecutive number 1 singles and nearly all albums reaching #1)but Hide remains the Japanese equivalent of Jimi Hendrix though Hide is my favorite too so I can’t complain

      Japanese rock- visual kei particularly places a lot of focus on visuals and many bands dress up. Some even fully dress as women. This does not in any way deplete their musical skill nor their worth as musicians or people.
