Ceylon Blues... Am I Wasting My Time in Sri Lanka Gem Markets? 99% Are Terrible Rough Gemstones.

These Sri Lankan guys are trying to sell me rocks off the ground. "Montana Mike" shows the tiring process of negotiations in the foreign gem markets. Most rough stones have: cracks, inclusions, bubbles, too thin, no clarity, too dark. Should I go to Brazil, Madagascar or back to Thailand? These countries also have large gemstone markets. Sri Lanka has 7 markets that I know of. Seems like the bigger mines take their stones to Bangkok and Chanthaburi, Thailand to sell them. But there are lots of Thai and Sri Lankan buyers in Madagascar. All are strapped by the way, seems like a lawless island. Let's go!
