I’ve listened to Car Talk since I was a kid working on cars or running errands with my dad. Hearing the shows now, from the bluegrass intro to the “Twinkle-Toes, Sweet Cheeks” credits, brings me back to those wonderful Sunday mornings with my dad. Thank you, Tom and Ray and everyone involved.
I heard Ray on a radio commercial for eBay motors, and typed his name in to see a face with a name and this particular video came up. I can’t believe I spent an hour and four minutes watching it, but I’m glad I did! It was a great storyline. More than anything, it was good to hear all the guests laughing and joking, something we should all do more often, especially with all the negativity in the current climate.
What a marvelous tribute to Tom, Ray, the producers, and NPR "stuffed shirts" who took a chance, etc. I try to get a dose of Car Talk endorphins with each meal. This celebration was especially appreciated. Thank you, all!
i discovered "car talk" on NPR late,......and a few years after i found it,.....NPR took it off the air. thank goodness for RUclips, etc, so i can still listen. LOVE the Magliozzi Brothers and their wonderful wit and personalities.
I listened to them religiously as a kid and many years later I rediscovered them. Now I know why I have a sarcastic and self deprecating sense of humor, appreciation for folk music and of course, an interest in working on my car while being completely unencumbered by the thought process.
The Tommy/Catherine hospital story is simultaneously one of the most badass/sweetest things I've ever heard. I was a definite '90s kid, and I listened to Car Talk EVERY Saturday morning... I absolutely loved the show. Still do. Have the full subscription to the podcast.
I wonder what it is like for ray to listen to his brother's voice after he's been gone after all these years. I remember hearing about Tom's dementia being made public prior to them going off the air. Car Talk made me close with my dad in the mid 90's It was the most hilarious radio show I ever listen to on a saturday at 9am in the morning
Remember listening to these guys back in the early 2000's, so humorous and a pleasure to listen to - with a lot of great common sense ideas and tips. What a blast they had working together. :)

20 years listening to car talk. I was pretty bummed when I learnt of Tommy’s passing.
My heart is full (my smile is exhausted).

Listen to car talk live. Work on the car. One of my favorite weekly rituals as a young man.

Melissa Peterson should’ve been invited too!
And Arup Gupta.
The only good thing about Car Talk ending was it allowed me to permanently disable the National People’s Radio channel on my tuner.
Pacifica Radio, anyone???
I so much miss the dynamic duo
This is not the David Greene from NPR I know.
