Tyler, I saw you at Yellowstone this summer while you were there with your family viewing a bear off in the distance. You looked familiar to me, but I could not place who you were. You seemed to notice me staring at you and perhaps saw me looking a little perplexed trying to figure out where I knew you from. But the thing that stood out to me was the light of Christ in your countenance and that of your family. It was when you had passed me and I heard your voice that I then recognized you. I don't often watch your videos, but listen to them as I get ready in the morning. Thank you for the voice of of calm reassurance, the personal insights and words of wisdom you both share each week! It is always a great start to my day.

Oh Tyler, Tyler, Tyler...you made me cry today, your comments on adversities of life really touched me, it were as though you had a window into my life! Currently under threat of homelessness l eventually secured a lucrative role which will have secured my home only to then lose it consequence of Covid19; my son in law barely 40 yrs old died from cancer leaving my girl with 5 primary age children - we buried him last week. Whilst away my home was broken into and damaged, even floorboards smashed - l mean why must we be so cruel and wicked to one another? To cap it police officers assigned to come today to investigate not only did not show up but sent back report stating they came twice and l weren't in. Of all the days to accuse Rose of being absent from home, its NOT the Sabbath!
Indeed l have often asked why do we have to go thru so many hard things? And sorry guys, but yes l have sometimes asked why me again, why can't it be someone else's turn? Yet in my heart l know it is the harder we try to do His will, the more these challenges pile on. I also know we are to learn to lean on the Lord as we strive to navigate our way out of the maze of adversities essential to building spiritual resilience so necessary if we are to make it back to Him.
It is as though my life is entombed in one of those boats tight as unto a dish tossed about in the tempest of life, often finding myself in the deep, hemmed in on every side but always when l eventually look up, it is as though l see the Lord's hand reaching down waiting for me to grasp and be plucked out but often simply to provide a light as though holding a luminous stone sufficient to light the path l should take.
Another great lesson, thank you for your testimonies and it was great to see Zander at the end too, especially with news of next year Doctrine and Covenants. We love you Zander, these lessons couldn't reach us without you - thank you x

10:39 Made me think of a stone that I discovered last year while exploring the mountains in Utah. It's a dark yellow/brown stone called Topaz. It's not a very pretty color, kind of dirty looking. That is until it exposed to the sun light. The more it is exposed to the sun light, the clearer and cleaner the stone becomes until its clear like a crystal.
I found it to be a beautiful analogy of how we become clearer and cleaner the more we are exposed to The Sons Light.

This was such an amazing video. I am so glad that I found you guys and that I watched this. Tyler- your words were life changing for me. Growing up as a convert in the Church, I always went along with the flow of things, with a basic testimony of the gospel tenets. But I have always had great anxiety and fear (personality trait) for challenges in life. I would have been that paranoid Jaredite that sat in the back of the barge in the dark jumping at every toss and turn and rough motion, yelling out...”what was that????” The whole time not using the stones prepared by The Lord. I have had a handful of trials in life (job uncertainty, loss of family members) but looking back they don’t seem as bad as when I/we were going through it. Your video helped me recognize that during those times I did rely on the Lord and He did help me/us navigate those challenges. At the same time, I feel that I have had it easy, that my life has not had as many challenges as some of those around me, and it makes me feel like I am going about life wrong somehow- that I should be having more challenges, but I suspect I will. Each of us has our own journey and must trust in the The Lord. Your teaching has enlightened me and I will take this to The Lord for further understanding and growth. Thank you for your spiritual preparation so that The Lord could touch your stones and work miracles in me. I look forward to your next lesson. Thank you.

Wishing you every blessing on your journey :)

Dear Tyler and Taylor, Thank you so much for your lesson. What you have taught is so true. Two of my friends, members of the Church (one in my ward), have passed away these last two weeks. They both had health issues. The oldest was 70, she lost two babies, had cancer and passed away because of the deficiency of her immune system. My other friend was 59. She had such a difficult life. She had lost her dad when relatively young. Her husband left her for another woman (who was her friend). To allow her three sons to have a better chance for their studies, she agreed to let them stay with their dad, in a foreign country, which implied that she was able to see them only a couple of times per year. Her older brother died, two to three years ago, of a fatal heart attack. A member of the Church accused her falsely and spread rumors to everybody who would listen. Fortunately, people knew my friend and did not believe the accuser. This friend did her best to nevertheless be kind to that person. She never complained even though all those hardships caused her to have enormous heath issues and heartaches. She continued to put her trust in God and in his son Jesus-Christ. She was faithfully serving others and her callings, and was an example of faith and courage to all of us. We, her friends (brothers and sisters, family of the Church of Jesus-Christ) are sad to have lost her, but we are happy to know that she has finally reached her promised land, yesterday morning. We know that she is happy and continues in faith. Yes, there are mountain waves in life, but with our Heavenly father's help, and Jesus-Christ's, we can be sustained. I am grateful for the Holy Ghost who is also such a good companion. Even if things do not really change, he brings peace to my heart when I feel anxious or down.

Thanks again for this beautiful lesson! I see so many parallels to our time, it’s incredible! Loved Tyler’s story of his family’s Yellowstone Trip! I, too, know the Lord comes to our aid when there’s nothing else we can do and when we feel totally helpless. I have been battling a very serious spinal problem for the last 8 years. Some of that time I was totally bedridden, unable to stand. I wasn’t able to see a doctor as even sitting was too painful. I looked for a possibility of finding a physician to come see me in our home but it looked hopeless. I needed pain medication, and couldn’t get it without doctor’s orders and in person visits. One dark and stormy night, I had a visit from a Physician’s assistant who works out of our doctor’s office. She came in wearing a raincoat and a big smile! I still call her my angel who came regularly to my home until I was able, again, to go to my doctor’s office in person. I know that Heavenly Father had a hand in this and will never forget that tender moment when help came and prayers were answered!

I believe that is what creates the miracles in our lives and God did not disappoint me. I agree that the joy comes after the trial and the continual trust in him. I was so touched by your words and insights. I want each and every one of my loved ones to take the time to watch this. I'm so grateful for what I learn here and the Spirit I feel. Hey guys, a fantastic session with you both again as usual. I wanted to share this thought that occurred to me during your discussion on Chapter 6, but also as it ties into Chapters 2-3 with respect to the faith of The Brother of Jared (TBoJ). Taylor, my thought centers on your comment about the stones and Genesis 6:16. Now, not getting hung up on exact timelines and things, but Noah was probably still around when the Tower of Babel was being built and I have no doubt that TBoJ was a religious leader, held the priesthood and may have been a high priest or a type of prophet already, had been taught about Christ, had a testimony of Him but had been taught that He was a spirit that would eventually come down and take upon him flesh and blood. He may have also been taught about Noah's story and all the faith promoting lessons that experience provided and just as Nephi's faith was hugely influenced by the writings of the prophets, often quoting scripture or recounting stories from scripture and then saying "if God can do that, then why can't He do this also?" I wonder if much of the faith of TBoJ came from the fact he might have even known Noah, had heard the stories of how the Lord prepared stones (windows) for the ark and that because he had a testimony of Noah and the priesthood and all that that implies, that that influenced him to make stones of glass, and then had such great faith that he could have said, "you did this for Noah so I know thou canst do this thing for me." And his surprise upon seeing the finger of the Lord. Perhaps he almost could have said "all my life I had been taught that you are a Spirit, but you appear to have a body of flesh and blood instead. I was thus afraid that perhaps I was taught incorrectly." But you both have already discussed this in your previous lesson about the various ways in which the Savior could have chosen to present himself, or that perhaps the faith of TBoJ was so great that entitled him to see the Savior as he would appear in the meridian of time. But, my main point is that I think there was much knowledge and understanding and faith already behind TBoJ based on what he already knew from Noah and other religions leaders in his life that brought him to that point of having such great faith which allowed him to see his Savior as he did and that that lesson for us is incredibly powerful as to what we must do to have faith like TBoJ. We can't just conjure faith up out of nowhere. For those with little faith or lacking the sufficient foundational building blocks of faith, this experience can teach us of how important building a strong foundation of faith can be and knowing where to go to find the resources and tools in order to build that foundation and that it takes daily work to build them. I have no doubt and I love wondering if TBoJ knew the scriptures deeply. I would think he did because what was the "record our fathers brought across the great deep" (Ether 8:9) if it wasn't the scriptural records they would have been commanded to bring with them just as Lehi was commanded. Did he know the prophets personally or intimately, Noah especially. Had he witnessed incredible things already in his life which all coalesced into a power of faith which during that magnificent experience on the mount with the stones he was able to then see his Savior? Anyway, I wrote all of these ideas in my study journal which I use to take notes on all of your lessons and felt I should share. Thanks for all you both and all of those who help to produce and bring to pass these weekly insights do. And when this Pandemic is all over and if you ever find you want to visit Nauvoo, Tyler you won't have to drive your camper out for this, but you have a place to stay. My parents built (2005) a large home 3 miles out of Nauvoo which would accommodate all my siblings and our families. My dad is a sealer at the Temple and we've hosted a few church leaders over the years, including Sister Elaine Dalton and her husband. Keep up the Good work

Taylor, I understand what it is to not trust God. I have always loved him and my Savior. But I didn't trust them. They were men. Every man in my life had hurt me in some way or another. I was not going to trust them. But I wanted them to love me so much. It took me several months to finally trust Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. When I finally began to trust them, I felt as if a weight had been lifted off of my chest. It was an amazing feeling. My love for them grew so much. Thank you both for this wonderful lesson.

I would like to express my gratitude for your lesson today - of all of them - this one has touched my heart the most. This weekend I have felt like I have been experiencing some of the blowing winds and crashing waves of life - challenges at home with adult children - a flooded basement - major foundation issues and then coming home to a fridge that has leaked water all over the floor. We are figuratively (and literally it feels like) underwater and the waves are crashing down hard. I am so grateful for the finger of God that has touched your words and shone light upon your lesson so that you could bring to others (and to me) the hope and light that you have talked about. I will praise God in the storm...
