Pope Francis makes the Bishop of Fatima a Cardinal. Portugal has a Catholic majority of more than 80%, but just a minority participate in the life of the Church every week.
When the Virgin Mary appeared in Fatima, she said specifically that the faith would never be lost in Portugal. For Cardinal Antonio Dos Santos Marto, there is a challenge but also a great opportunity ahead in working to preserve Our Lady's promise and faith in Jesus Christ and his Church.
