    Can a full length shikar sticks be cut down to a mini one stick?

    Did you use hardware for the cam cleat? What do you recommend? Thanks again.

      No when you purchase the schaefer cleat it comes with the mounting hardware.

    I just got mine in and it has 3 pre tapped holes and two of them line up perfect with this harken cam cleat. But I think maybe the threads are different. Just wondering if ooal is making them with the right holes and threads

    • @platinumpursuitoutdoors
      @platinumpursuitoutdoors  3 года назад

      So I believe they have started to just pre-drill holes for the cam Cleat so that people didn’t have to do that.

    • @bassamaticfpv4354
      @bassamaticfpv4354 3 года назад

      Cool thanks I’m gonna take it to work and try to double check those threads before I force it in. I’m hoping the paint is what’s making it feel tight but I don’t want to take a chance. I’ll post it back on here when it’s confirmed, might help someone else who’s ordering one. Thanks again

    Does the bottom step still pivot close to the post, or is the cleat in the way now?

    • @platinumpursuitoutdoors
      @platinumpursuitoutdoors  2 года назад

      They still fold up but not perfectly flat. See my latest video on the Shikar stick and you will see what I am talking about.

  • @davidbroxterman5624

    just ordered my Shikar today but i ordered the 2 step. how does it work putting the versa button on the back versus just having the rope on the main post?

    • @platinumpursuitoutdoors
      @platinumpursuitoutdoors  3 года назад

      Sweet… so when I made the rope mod I made it to where I had to unscrew the versa button and then screw it over top of the rope mod so that it would not pull off.
      Depending on your rope mod you might have to go around the main portion of the stick rather than the versa button itself. Does that make sense?
      And I essentially just reversed a versa button in the same hold it was already drilled.

  • @brent6344
    @brent6344 2 года назад

    What required hardware did you have to buy to mount the cam cleat (size bolts, washers, nuts if it didn’t come with Schaefer cam cleat). Additionally, do you have the link to where to purchase the 1/8” amsteel rope to make the mod? Great video!

    • @platinumpursuitoutdoors
      @platinumpursuitoutdoors  2 года назад +1

      The hardware came with the cam cleat. As far as purchasing the rope mod, you can get them off of doublestep.com. Let me know if that helps.

  • @DrewDiaz

    Everyone is a troll- me I’d cut down the bolts for the cleat and round the ends over, I’d also use some thread set on the versa button screw- might be why the head boogered up coming out.

    • @platinumpursuitoutdoors
      @platinumpursuitoutdoors  3 года назад

      A troll? I was going to cut down those bolts, but they actually keep the rope mod from spinning and keeps it in the direction that I’m going to use it so I’m going to let them be.

    • @platinumpursuitoutdoors
      @platinumpursuitoutdoors  3 года назад +1

      I am using the 3 step aider from OOAL. I get about 6’ on the first move a little lower on the others. The only thing it is missing is the top step lol.

    When going in blind to a new spot do you do climbing sticks or just the One stick?

    • @platinumpursuitoutdoors
      @platinumpursuitoutdoors  3 года назад

      At this point in time, my primary method is climbing sticks. I’ve just been messing around with the one stick to see how much practical application it has and if it’s even worth it.
