Tornadoes are more prone in Middle and West Tennessee. East Tennessee has tornadoes but more of a rare occurrence than the West and middle of our state
Wear boots when walking in the Tennessee woods. Timber rattlers and Copperheads are present and difficult to see. They can hide under debris in your yard too. A little common sense is all you need to stay safe. Buy some snake tongs if you live in the sticks (Good for relocating the little buggars).
All true. Saw a timber rattlesnake yesterday. A cottonmouth bit and killed a friend of mine's dogs. Little Harpeth River (Brentwood) is in their back yard.

Hopefully you and others watching this don't bring the same world views and voting habits that causes California to be a place you need or want to leave. It truly astounds me how much this happens. The place you are going to isn't better, more affordable, nicer, safer etc magically, it is better because they vote differently, make different decisions, have a different world view and do things differently, that makes it better. California is acting as a literal cancer that is metastasizing and destroying the rest of the country.

I don’t know the Nashville area well enough to know if there is lots of lakes, but where I’m at, we have tons. Sacramento only has one big river, but I’ve honestly only been to it once.

There are different Mexican regions of cooking throughout the US. Depending on where you’re from, that style will be whats ”authentic” to you. Chinese is another one. Can you address the minority topic? I'm Asian American and have lived in California most of my life. But I'm more conservative and want to move to Tennessee. Will that be an issue with me not being white?
If you move to an area where there is a big city, you will find more diversity. However, I live in a smaller city that is probably 75% white, 15% black, and 10% Mexican (that’s just my guess), and you don’t see a lot of diversity here
@darren Darren I just lived in Tennessee for 7 months and like you I'm an Asian american raised in California. The people are very friendly and God fearing. It is homogeneous though and it made me very anxious with the lack of diversity. If you want to buy a home and start a family and you're okay with the lack of diversity, I'd give it high marks. I am pretty sure everyone who went through public school in CA (hi, me) can agree that the education system in CA sucks.
Go to TN and try to have an intelligent conversation with someone.
I'd like to know how often tornados touch down in and around the Knoxville area.
We’ve had a few small tornado warnings since I’ve moved here, but nothing has ever touched down or been seriously dangerous
@@hannahreneebanana Thank you!
Wear boots when walking in the Tennessee woods. Timber rattlers and Copperheads are present and difficult to see. They can hide under debris in your yard too. A little common sense is all you need to stay safe. Buy some snake tongs if you live in the sticks (Good for relocating the little buggars).
And there are rattlesnakes in Ca too. They just lay around in the road sometimes
😱 may be a deal breaker for me!
All true. Saw a timber rattlesnake yesterday. A cottonmouth bit and killed a friend of mine's dogs. Little Harpeth River (Brentwood) is in their back yard.
This video was so good compared to others on this topic! My parents and I are looking to move from the Bay Area to a red state! So many things to think about! My dads white, moms Asian, and we’ve lived in the Bay Area all our lives! Definitely would be a culture shock but looking for a change of pace/good place to retire for my parents/good for a 23 year old to start her nursing career and raise a family
I'm from Johnson City. I moved to Knoxville while in college at UT. A job took me right back to Johnson City. I've never needed to go anywhere else. I love my home state and my own little slice, nestled in the Smoky Mountains
I'm a Fil Am who is a Tennessean all of my life. I love my home state but it will be a culture shock for you. I live in ETn and we have a small community of Asian American unlike the bay area where it's the predominant population. I get culture shocks whenever I visits CA...lol. Nonetheless, I think it's better than CA no offense. Our Level 1 Trauma center are ranked in the top 5% nationally.

May I ask where are you from in California and where did you move to in Tennessee? I lived in California all my life and we are preparing for our escape to Tennessee hopefully in April of 2021. Right now I live on the central coast in a small coastal town next to Monterey. We are looking to move to eastern Tennessee johnson city/jonesborough area. We are open to other cities to check out but definitely want to stay on the eastern side. Any suggestions?
I was from the Sacramento area, and now we live in East Tennessee, but I highly recommend this area! Every city that I have explored in this side of this state is so beautiful and definitely a great place to settle down
We're in the same boat! We're in the Sacramento area(looking to move!!) and really impressed with Tennessee. I love your things that your comparing like Respect👍🏼
What area of East Tennessee? I've heard lots of good things Chattanooga area and Murfreesboro. You said the schooling is really good in your city, so I was REALLY interested in knowing where! Thank you for making this video Hannah Renae!!
Jyl Jules unfortunately I don’t want to put the exact city I live in on the internet for safety purposes, but I’ve heard good things about those places too!
Hannah Renee haha!!! No way, I’m in Sacramento too and my husband and I have been thinking of relocating. CA has gotten horrible, it’s hard to make a living.
Hannah Renee right!! I completely understand that!!!!!🔆
Hey y'all. Hello from Oklahoma. You can't beat Good ol Tennessee people!!

Moving from Kauai, Hawaii to Chattanooga, TN🙌🏼 hopefully within the next 4-5 months

Nope, that would be Shelbyville. Great Mexican grocery stores with authentic restaurants in the back. Cheap and GOOD food there and even with the language barrier it's worth a try.

I saw that you lived in the Sacramento area, I’m thinking of transferring either to csu sacramento or to a town around Nashville. I’m currently in SoCal so I’m used to always being able to go to the beach, are there any good lakes or swimming holes you have been to in Tennessee?
I don’t know the Nashville area well enough to know if there is lots of lakes, but where I’m at, we have tons.
Sacramento only has one big river, but I’ve honestly only been to it once.
I’m from Tennessee and there are all kinds of Rivers and Lakes and fishing holes.

How long is fall in Tennessee?
Fall can last from about beginning of September to the middle of November. Last year at the end of November, it snowed!
Fall is beautiful here, colorful, humidity drops, temperatures are generally warm and mild, and the bugs are gone.
