- Helium aims to make the world a more connected place through a ubiquitous, global wireless network. Helium Network, also known as “The People’s Network”, is live with 28,000+ Hotspots in over 3,800 cities worldwide. There are also another 200,000+ Hotspots on backorder, from a flourishing ecosystem of Hotspot manufacturers, that will soon be deployed. The current Helium Network is well on its way to becoming the largest and fastest-growing global network with a strong forecast for over 600,000 Hotspots in the next 18 months. Partnering with FreedomFi, Helium 5G will be the second major wireless network that the Helium Network supports. If you have a phone that supports 5G, such as an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy, you will soon be able to connect through Hotspots that are powered by the People. Users who operate hotspots thus mine and earn rewards in Helium’s native cryptocurrency token, HNT.

Amazing interview on the Helium network. I am in engineering and work with municipal infrastructure. What people take for granted is monitored. Like drinking water, sewage, wastewater plants. People take all this for granted until they get a boil water advisory, or a sewage backup in their basements. Now the technology of monitoring is by cellular network which costs $$ and is paid for by your taxes. The future is with Smart Cities and Helium will be a big part of the solution and deployment.

It is hard to explain how impactful this Tech and this specific project can be to Telecom.

Also, he's talking about scalability but seems like they having scalability issues for a while now. How they'll keep up with so many more devices?
It's open source, and demand brings supply so more and more manufacturers will produce.
So it seems more like a hiccup then a real issue
And probably the global supply crisis from manufacturing to shipping doesn't exactly help
Once light gateways come online (soon next year) and global supply chain issues smooth out, all should be good

Is this something I can participqte in Japan?
Jumped ship from helium because they said they would do reduce earnings every two years. It reduced earnings past 2 months which should have been equal in the past 6 years. So because of that not worth mining. Thank you helium for saying one thing and doing another. Still I wished it wasn't like that.

@Sim rak miners are pretty good, make sure to invest in a good antenna too tho

@Sim i got mine from eBay, but its for resell price, which is like double, but for the wait time that it takes for a miner to come from a website that sells them, you might already make your money back, hnt might go high up in price so the amount you mine can double in price quick

@@Ancorarte You actually NEED internet to make it work. There are some GREAT tutorials on the Bobcat Miner here on RUclips.
Wifi? It has nothing to do with Wifi. And, until they fix the high throughput problem, I will not be ordering any hotspots.
And, how many customers do you have, using the Helium network? How many active, paying devices are on the network?

Everyone keeps talking about the moon. But nobody talks about the importance of giving the consumer/producer complete control over all their assets and supporting these projects for what they offer. I do not wish to to go the moon. I wish it become stable in order to utilize it in my everyday life. But i am ok with decentralized space travel.

then many new beginners can actually see if its even profitable to run one in their location, this should be already reality not like it is right now.
There is a company that already leases them to you.
thats basically what alot of us are doing, we invested in miners early on and now we are installing them in houses, and splitting profits
