Great list once again. As usual I manage to own one album in your top ten. In this case it's Satan's "Life Sentence". I 100% agree that it's one of if not the greatest comeback album ever made. Most of my metal collection is pre 2010 with a heavy preponderance to Black Sabbath, NWOBHM, thrash, power metal and doom from the 80's. Pretty much anything I own from the decade of 2010 to 2019 is going to bands from that earlier time.
I think my collection is also predominantly from the 80s...very little from the 90s and a good amount from post 2000s (reissues included). In fact I get a lot of comments from friends, that tell me I'm stuck in the 80s so these videos are also a kind of statement that there are also more recent bands who have released quality music...even if it is highly influenced by the sound of the 80s.
@@IronHordeMetalTalk Yes, your propensity towards 80's metal and it's influence is what draws me to your channel. I'll be hitting the ripe old age of 61 in a few weeks so that means I was 20 years old in 1980/81. I was there while the metal explosion was happening in real time. The fact that you appreciate the 80's scene so much at half my age speaks volumes for your discerning and excellent taste!! Even when you're discussing bands that I know nothing about I can rest assured that they'll be something that I'll like based on the commonality's in our collections.
With the albums from Visigoth, Satan, Kodex etc i am completly with you! The first band you mensioned, i have to check, though i have to admit, i'm not that much into italien Doom, cause many bands have at least slight "goth" elements and i deeply dislike everything about Gothic (only King Diamond i can forgive here :p, but even in this case i clearly prefer Mercyful Fate over his solo stuff...) My additonal favorite 2010+ albums are... Lethal Steel - Legion Of The Njght Portrait - Crimen Laesae Majestatis Divinae Konquest - The Night Goes On Hällas - Condondrum Pagan Altar - Room Of Shadows Orodruin - Ruins Of Eternity Horisont - Odyssey Gatekeeper - East Of Sun Black Trip - Goin' Under Arch/ Matheos - Winter Ethereal
I think with regards to Italian Doom it is more that occult mystical dungeon like aura I'm referring to. I believe it comes more authentic when you have a deeply catholic culture that you have absorbed since a very young age. It is the darker side of religion so to speak....rituals, death, afterlife etc. Re list of albums: I'm not familiar with Lethal Steel and Konquest. The rest are great albums indeed especially the Pagan Altar one but I'm obviously biased here. If there is one that surprised me in your list are Hallas. Never convinced me personally. Catchy for sure...but never understood the hype in the long run.
@@IronHordeMetalTalk ruclips.net/video/6BWiaxqUXcA/видео.html love these guys! The debut album surely is in my top 3 over the last decade and their "fashion understatement" suits me also very well, cause i look the same haha...
Great list, Procession and Blood Farmers don't get enough recognition.
A common occurrence in our field unfortunately. Loads of bands are barely known yet they have put out some great music. 😕

You have to check out Konquest (Lethal Steel as well!!!) a total Heavy Load worship, btw a italian band ;-).
