Hi, Good question. In this case we used a larger needle and suture to make everything easier to see in the video. You're right, normally we would use a much finer suture but this can sometimes be harder to demonstrate things as well on camera

Should we use any anestesia for sutures for small cuts
If it's really just one suture then no but if 2 3 or more then yes local Anastasia is given
I would have no problem doing the sutures but its holding the person down on the receiving end when im stuck in the snow in the middle of nowhere!
