As a provider, it’s so important to take vacations off your meds. No one needs 20 mg of a stimulant 3 times a day. It’s frustrating to see providers set their pts up for failure and not paying attention to pt overall well being. Prolonged use can cause early dementia as well.
Can you do a video on distinguishing between ADHD-Inattentive symptoms and anxiety/depression symptoms? I read about many adults receiving an ADHD diagnosis after decades of treatment for depression/anxiety and years of trying various antidepressants/anti-anxiety meds to no avail. How can patients advocate for themselves when faced with providers who insist on what may be the wrong diagnosis?

Hi Neha, thank you for your video topic idea. As a channel member you get priority to answers to your questions as well as video topic ideas. So if you have any more topics or questions for me to discuss, I will be happy to do so! 😊
@LevelheadedMind I took as prescribed and still in protracted. I'm year off ...first year I went back on 3 tines because of the horror of withdrawal. No one should ever take ritialn. It is a drug not a medication.
Not necessarily a withdrawal question. I have terrible anxiety. Especially health anxiety where anything health related can trigger my anxiety. Headaches, palpitations, stomach pain etc… causes my anxiety attacks. I used to be on klonopin and Zoloft. I weaned off for about 2 yrs. My anxiety returned and I’m on lexapro now. Now I have lots of jawclen hing, nausea and headaches. Could Zoloft be better or what should I do?
Those are adverse effects you are experiencing from Lexapro. Have you tried therapy? That would be safest approach and can be very effective. If you are determined to stick with medication despite all the risks including antidepressant withdrawal, I would suggest getting a genesight test to see which medications your body can metabolize more easily with less risk of side effects. Also make sure you don't have nutrient deficiencies, commonly with this it can be B12, Folate, Zinc, Magnesium, Vitamin D and Omega-3s.
@@LevelheadedMind I was in therapy for a while. It helped to give me techniques to try and help but not enough. I spoke to my doctor a few days ago and I’m back on Zoloft. I’m not sure how I can request for those test you recommend. I can ask or maybe contact a special lab? Thank you so much for recommending it. I’ll def look into that.
If you're in the US your psychiatrist should be familiar with Gene testing. Companies like genesight and genomind make it easy for your doctor to order the test.
Sounds like you may have a nutritional deficiency. You should get a blood/lab workup with your doctor ASAP. That many meds not helping you sleep is unusual. I wish you good health!

I refused other medications for withdrawal. I don't trust any of them. What a sad world we live in.
