@@CollaborationVideos Would it be possible to do a version of installing cucm with mixed mode and fips mode? the videos are awesome because it is easy to follow.
Hi... can we install cucm in AMD support hardware..?? Or can only support Intel processors,??? Am getting error while installing cucm via VMware on AMD processor supported hardware....!
.Great Video. I hope you won't mind sharing your inputs on below queries. We have CUCM version 9.1 running and we have to upgrade it to version CUCM 12.5. Can we upgrade it directly or should we first upgrade to CUCM version 12 as ESXI version required for CUCM 12.5 is ESXI 6.5 UCS version running is UCS C220 M3S which is also end of sale and hardware support is about to end. So what you suggest should we move to CUCM cloud set up or should we get UCS C220 M5 or UCS C240 M5 We have this cluster of 3 nodes. To upgrade which method we need to prefer. I mean using PCD or manually.
According to the upgrade guide you can upgrade directly from 9.1 to 12.5 using PCD. It is the only supported path. I personally don't like PCD but if it is the only supported path then I would suggest you do it that way. Yes, for the upgrade to 12.5 you have to upgrade the ESXi to at least 6.5. I have had clients who upgraded to 12.0 because they had M3 servers and couldn't upgrade to 6.5. As far as Cloud vs on prem. Cisco is really pushing to move as much as they can to the cloud. I would take a look at the cost and see if it makes sense for you and your business. The C220 M5 and C240 M5 are really good servers and you could take a hybrid approach if you get Flex licensing. You can move Jabber users to Webex and then start moving some phones over to Webex Calling. Good Luck on whichever you choose. If you would like any help with this upgrade let me know. My rates are very reasonable.
@@CollaborationVideos Hey buddy, how are you doing. Your inputs turned out to be very valuable for us. Would it be a good approach to upgrade the call manager version from 9.x to 12.5 over the UCS C220 M3S server. It is going to be end of support in dec 2021.. Should we use this hardware. what are your recommendations ?
@@pmrm100 I have seen disk issues and such that have caused issues with these machines. But I have one of these in my own lab and it is working fine. It depends on how comfortable you are with going without RMA support from Cisco. For a production environment I would look at upgrading the hardware.
How would you proceed with the IM and Presence upgrade? You would install this upgrade then the IM and Presence upgrade and do a switch version after both are installed? Great video BTW!
You should do the CUCM upgrade prior to the IM and P upgrade as it will reach out to the CUCM publisher. If you have two IM&P you much first to CUCM, then IM&P Publisher and then IM&P Subscriber. You can wait for the switch version untill all are installed.
Hello sir, video is really informative and nicely explained. Can you provide CUCM iOS for lab purpose, As per Cisco policy, I can get iOS from reseller or distributer but I don't know any of them. I'm currently working on product of tadiran telecom and eagerly willing to learn Cisco collaboration.
I just got an ATA that requires CUCM to config, all this BS just to make a phone call! Is VMware free? Or do they have a free option so that I can config it and move on? If not, is there a free method via Google cloud console? Thanks!
Yes you can get ESXi with a free licenses. However, you will have 90 days on CUCM before you need to get it licensed. CUCM is not your basic phone system, it is an enterprise level phone system solution.
