I came here for "my man Victor Campenaerts"!!
I could go for a few more "MY MAN VICTOR CAMPANAERTS". 🛋️🦋
Chris should stop hogging his man Campanaerts. Victor's a man of the people.
I came here to hear about the reach around
Say it loud say it proud, he's our man!
Some fine, fine day, my man Victor Campenaerts is going to become “my MAIN man Victor Campenaerts!”
It's always funny to see the graphics show that the first name of Campenaerts is Victor. I could have sworn that was his middle name and his first name was Miman.
😂😂😂
🤣😂😅
😂🦋👊
@@ChrisHornerCyclingis Victor going to Jumbo next year? I thought i read that.
The actual surprise in my opinion was the TT of Roglic....people were already saying that Roglic can't cut it anymore....but here he is!!!!
He's obviously still very good. Maybe "only" not a contender for Olympic gold again
Even at almost 35 yo, guy still has a few GT in him. The ones who write him off, do so at their own peril...
What surprised me about Roglic was stage 2 and 4. I thought Rog would come out swinging again like his fitness at the Basque Country’s open TT there. But I agree with you, Roglic looked very good today so the final two weeks could be interesting. 👊🦋💪
I’m a Roglic diehard fan… he’s a real contender and I’m happy most people have ruled him out, so he becomes the underdog, I’m hoping his form improves for the most import week3. Hang on Rogla, victory is possible. All those who spent their efforts in week1 will payback on the back to back mountains that are coming. 😂❤
His TT's have been solid throughout the entire year, even when he sometimes came up short in regular stages those same races.
It might have to do with fatigue resistance.
Let's if he's better in coming GC stages too.
Seven different winners from seven different teams in the first seven stages. Awesome.
Calling Arnold De Lie making it eight for eight tomorrow!
I’m curious to see if Trek control the race for Mads or possibly Mads needs a few days to recover still. De Lie’s fighting hard to get one. 🤞🦋💪👊
I love it when you say " My Man Victor Campenaerts"! Besides that it's your channel you should say what you want.
Really enjoy your passion Chris, I knew you would love that ride from your man Victor Campa-knots!
Camp 👊🦋💪
Your man Victor was on TV every 2 minutes for hours! I say a good effort to thank the sponsors.
Seriosly, as i was sitting and watching the TT today. evrytime the commentator was mentioning Viktor Campenaerts name, a voice was screaming in my Head: " MA MÄÄÄÄN!"😄
Dido
Double Dido
All the time for me ! 😂😂
My Man 😂🦋👊💪
Ditto????
This might be the most competitive tt I've ever seen even going back to the early 2000's...
It’s was a good one. 👊🦋
Your show makes this all so exciting. It got me into the tour in 2021. Nobody else knows exactly what's happening like this and it makes it all so interesting. Thanks
Love the body mechanics of Remco on the TT. Looked sooo naturally strong. Chapeau to him. I think he achieved his goal, GC is just an extra for this tour.
I have to eat my words, Jonas is proving to be an out n out champion. I say this as a Tadej fan.
After very serious injuries and not much time to prepare for the TDF, I thought top 10 would be a win for Jonas.
Looks like we have a race on our hands after all and that's a good thing. Congrats to Jonas no matter how well he does from here on. Super effort from a champion.
This was all I'd expect from Jonas on this course if that crash never happened
Jonas math isn’t mathing for me! To miss all that training time if he doesn’t fade later on then serious question need to be asked! Tough riding for week 1 for sure. But how can he possibly keep getting better!
@@dorianwaller8796 his base before the crash may have been enough to sustain him. The real question is tolerating intensity.
As a Jonas fan and not a Pogacar fan, being this soon after his accident makes me wonder what he's really capable of fully functioning/recovered. He has to be unbeatable. His performance is shocking this soon after the accident imo.
Remco fell there too. Yet we're glazing😂
I think Jonas has to pleased with where he is at moment, especially considering this is his first race since the big crash. This really has been a great tour up to this point.
He will drop off. Remco however is looking like the only one potentially challenging pogi. And that's a maybe😅

@@de4ds1ghtcsgo94 Remco and Roglic are the ones that will drop off, everyone knows that!! Without Jonas, we wouldn’t have a race going into the third week, and he is not even 100%. It’s amazing how he has recovered..
Jonas Will win This race. He Will break the gc in week three
congrats on all the partners supporting the show this year chris! very well deserved for all your hardwork and expertise you bring us
Thanks 👊🦋
Feel bad for Wout. Got cut off yesterday and just had a suffer fest today. I hope he can recover because tomorrow suits him normally
Yeah, I was actually wondering if he was holding back for that reason and for Jonas. But his interview had him gasping for air. ... but maybe normal given most any even measured tempo.
Thanks, Chris, for reminding us of the character of road racing again. It is a team sport. And yes, it is important to show off, but young drivers should not do that too often, except they really have it in them. Cheers mate!

My man victor campenarts as I’m sittin on the chesterfield
👊🦋🛋️
When the guys on the Lanterne Rouge podcast were talking about your man, Victor, being in the hotseat, I knew I had to tune in.
I love this guys updates.
👊🦋
Watching Victor C on the hot seat for so long, i knew some where in Oregon Chris H is excited.
😂👊🦋
When interviewed after he'd finished, Mark Cavendish did comment that this was the first time he'd led a TdF time trial🤣
Was this video sponsored by Victor Campeanarts? 😂😂
😂👊🦋
Remco Evenepoel 24 years old, since he turned professional he has already won 56 races, and he is not a sprinter, in the next seasons he will be a potential winner on the races that he will ride!!! What a champion!!! Already champion of the world route and ITT ,won stages in the 3 grand tours ,vuelta winner and he doesn't have 25 years yet !!!
You must be his Mom
Pogačar is 1 year older 🙄
@@sanastela So you can name exactly 1 rider more impressive with a more impressive palmares than Remco at 25 years old... and that's the goat pogacar... That just means Remco is second best
@@dbzownsbigtime I agree.

Hehehe. The helmets are so bad. 🤪😱🦋👊
Viktor Campenaerts the resurrection as a tt rider ❤
👊🦋
Just checked the intermediary time data, and noticed Primoz Roglic was the fastest between the 2nd time check point and the end.
If you divide it in 4, Roglic was fastest on the downhill section, Remco fastest on every other section.
Nothing more entertaining than My Man Chris Horner talking about His Man Victor Campenaerts.
Played a game tonight, on how many times “my man Victor Campenaerts“ would be said. Seven times, dang, missed it by one. It was fun. Thanks Chris!
I'm a Pogi fan and hopes he win the Tour but after the first 3 stages, I was lowkey hoping Remco would take the yellow jersey today. Guy's on fantastic form.
What a great TdF, so far! The Butterfly Effect makes it even better! 🦋👊
I love TTs! I saw on strava that Matteo did a practice ride before the race. He’s so banged up (especially on his elbow) that they had to make a cushion for him. So, I think he TT’ed not full out but to the best of his injured ability. Maybe he’s better than everyone thinks. Idk but I really, really like him! Go Matteo! Go Visma…go WVA! And thank you, Chris and Garrett 👊🦋❤️
I hope so. It would be good to see Jorg with the best. 👊🦋🤞
I don't see RE as a threat at all to Pog. Surely, less that JV and PR.
So far he had favorable situations. Both climbs where he was dropped had the finish after a descent and with flat ground, giving him the chance to gain back time, and yesterday was his day. Next mountain top finish, Pog will just start pushing 3km from the finish, instead of just 1km, putting a minute on RE. And bar the last TT, he has no chance of gaining back time.
Wow great…. TT videos get released quickly 👏🏻👏🏻😍😍😍
A bit less video to go thru. 👊🦋
"my man Campanaerts!" ... he made it interesting today
Waking up at my friends' place in Osaka, checking the TT results, waiting for Horner Productions to drop
Hope you enjoyed. 🌞👊🦋
I was surprised your man Victor Campenaerts was in the lead for so long!
Jonas did fairly well coming fourth 37 seconds down today and 1:15 down after 7 stages of racing. Consider Jonas did no reconnaissance of the stage 7 time trial. Two more weeks of racing for Jonas to prove himself.👍👍
As a Jonas fan, this soon after the accident, just makes me wonder what he's really capable of fully recovered/functioning.
You boys huffin that strong stuff
Agreed. Very impressive 👊🦋
Slick looking shirt. I think i like this tt stage placed at this point in the tour.
Thanks Chris and Garrett....Bissinger almost ate it bad....Papillon !
I think riders like Campenaerts, Healy, Van Wilder, Jorgensen and Vlasov have some a to play in the team but are also allowed to test themselves. It matters for them but also for the team as a backup or future plan. Ulrich, Froome, Thomas have all been in a similar position. Campenaerts said it may have been the last time he could go all in on a TT if he'll be joining Visma next season and has to save himself for the team. The scenario for the next day may already have been written, so finishing fifth may be a much bigger trophy than taking one more turn in the leadout for De Lie or going on the attack to be caught by the sprinters' teams in the last 10K.
Camp looks like Groucho Marx with that mustache. 😂
I got a fever...and the only cure is more my main man Victor!!
👊🦋🤪🤪
i am a big pogi fan but i was rooting for remco in this one. the TT didnt even go perfect for him, but he was still absolutely amazing. also really good ride from tadej, he should probably try to go for WC ITT at some point.
I know you know… everyone needs to remember it is a team sport and riders who are here in support, should be doing exactly that!
FWIW from Stage 8: Van Wilder (23), Healy (29), Jorgensen (40), and Yates (52) all timed at 04.04.50 and Campenaerts (133) @ 04.06.28
Chris, for the love of god!! Force your way back into the peacock coverage. I’m losing it dude!!!
"Beyond the Coverage" vs "Beyond the Podium". NBC isn't even hiding the plagiarism 😒
Such a huge loss to the sport and audience to not have Chris there, he's the best commentator ever. Peacock and NBC are fools for not having him.
I always watch the world feed on Peacock, but they don’t even have that option anymore. So I had to become a Canadian watcher just to get the commentators that I always listen to.
I don’t see it happening again after those guys can’t even remember who won the Vuelta while Watch Sepp win his last year. It was ridiculous coverage from Bob and Christian during 2023 Vuelta to pretending they didn’t remember that their colleague of four years won it. 😱🦋👊
@@ChrisHornerCycling Agree on all this from Portland Or 🍉
I would argue that teams like to have a Jorgensen and Vlasov in the top 10 in case their leaders lose big amounts of time or crash out. Understand your perspective on rest but why not keep a plan B before the first rest day. More importantly, thanks for the coverage!
Was roooting for our man victor, great effort from him
For Jonas to be a mere 1min 15sec off the lead is amazing given his injury and slow recovery and in the post race interview you could see he genuinely was pleased and as he said his super strength is long high mountain stages.
Thanks for the breakdown, Chris. Best in the biz as always. My wife and I had a discussion today and we couldn't come to an answer. If Primoz still rode for Visma, would they have brought Jonas?
Who is that Victor guy again? Is he the one with the moustache and big smile? ✌️
MY MAN VICTOR CAMPENAERTS in the hot seat 💺
My Man 😂🦋👊💪
Jonas and Roglic will be about 2 minutes behind Tadej when the high mountains hit on stage 14 and onward, and Evenepoel around a minute. Evenepoel and Roglic are gonna lose time in the high mountains, and Jonas and Tadej will battle for the victory once again.
We can only hope not. 🤔🦋🤞
Almeida faster than Ayuso must make him feel good. If he’d have been a couple seconds faster Almeida would have hopped over Ayuso in the GC standings which would have been doubly sweet. I’m pulling for Pogacar in this one but Jonas is showing some serious grit in staying as close as he is after such a bad crash. I wonder if he will start to wear down later on?
Do not count on it! Vingegaard still
Dangerous in 3 week!!
If Pogacar isn't the winner of this TDF it will haunt him bigtime in the future Remco is dangerous competition
Yep. Alm and Ayuso may get interesting later to watch how that chemistry plays out. 🤔😱🦋🔥
@@ChrisHornerCycling Do you think there is a good change pogacar breaks in the third week? Does UAE consider this probability?
@@helderjorge2 I think they might be keeping Ayuso and Almeida up there specifically because they have no idea. Pogacar never rode 2 GT's and definitely not the hardest GT combination.
Thanks, Chris, and this is a beautiful Tour, lots of different stage winners and Cav's record win and Bini's jersey and all of it has been great so far. But if traditional frame design is mandated, why not something traditional in headgear, too? I admire the aero skills of the helmet designers, and their crafty interpretations of the rules, but the aesthetic is incongruous to the minimalist look which is otherwise held in highest regard by our sport, even to the exclusion of any body armor. I don't understand yet I am happy for science-fiction fans who can wave their battery-operated light sabers for their favorite Fast Bug from the Space Cantina. 😀
Teams are also getting experience on potential future tour winners maybe. So where a pure lieutenant should ride at 95% , some young talents could go 100% as a learning trajectory. A balancing act of course with helping your favourite.
WHILE WATCHING THE STAGE LIVE I COULD ALREADY HEAR CHRIS SAY "my man Victor Campenaerts" WAS PROUD OF VIC
Our man victor campenaerts
Hey victor was a world Record hour holder , plus hes not wearing that Ridiculous Helmet , so give him some Love
Most interesting to me: the four opponents for the GC were also the first four in this moderately long individual time trial.
Kung has been unlucky so many times!
Quite possible this wasn't luck so much as a hasty shift
@@joelronningen9930 with properly adjusted di2, it's almost impossible to drop a chain on purpose. It's likely a screw up by the mechanics setting the FD up poorly. Different story if they were pushing the limits with a 60/40 which some people will do but I doubt he would run a chainring that small for today

"My man Victor Campenaerts" is the new "Geraint Thomas screams: I can't do it!!!"
It is incredible... going at 90% or 95% gives them a small rest...
They must have a strong competitive urge though to push in every stage, particularly a tt, which is hard to override!
Campenaerts was flying
He was going strong. 👊🦋💪
To the point!
Chris do you think if the UAE chemistry doesn’t work out do you think we could see perhaps ayuso leave the team for a new one at the end of the season as I feel he has his own ambitions. Almedia like Yates could compete but is more selfless. Be interested to hear your thoughts on this. Great content as always
Chris that Webcor top is snazzy bud
28-30 minutes at 90% of max. heart rate is a tempo workout (for the non-contenders).
If Tadej has even 1 bad day Jonas will beat him for the gc. This is coming from a Pogs fan. Jonas is playing this perfect
@hutchy_4297. Don't see it. He's a cut below this time. The slow descending is very conspicuous.
@@LABoyko He's literally coming off major major injuries and has held it to under 1:30 for the first week. He's probably almost at 100% now so in a couple, few stages he can get real dangerous real fast if you let him hang around. I hope you're right.
I have yet to see Jonas ever get worse during a GT but I understand what lack of training he has had also. It’s going to be very interesting to watch how Jonas goes these next two weeks. 👊🦋🤞💪
@@ChrisHornerCycling
As you said before, they switched roles.
Lets see if other protagonists can even interfere.
Jorgenson did amazingly well considering he was injured and carrying road rash on his arms/elbows/leg.
I understand Chris' advice to effectively rest the primary climbing domestique of Visma, et al., but how much does it make sense to keep a second option in the fight in case of a crash, etc.?
I don’t want them to completely go easy on the stage. I just prefer them to lose about another minute. Not the top eight from stage 4 though like Landa, Ayuso, Almeida they are climbing good enough and could be threat in other ways. But the others only have one and half option left. Rode for their leaders or hope they get an a break and the half is that they are allowed to go away in a break which means they can’t be close on GC. Both require good legs. 👊🦋
@@ChrisHornerCycling Could Soudal have used Van Wilder as a "scout"? Also the next mountain stage is 5 days after with a restday in between. I don't think a climber going all out will make a difference. It is mostly the rouleurs that had to go easy.
Victor is gonna win some races next year!
True that. 👊🦋
Knucklehead count: 0
Uncle Chris Horner is doing a "I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed" analysis. Looking forward to the mountains when Uncle Chris can get mad again.
i thought nils politt was a knucklehead today
😂🦋👊
Keep saying it. It’s fun
Hi Chris.
So when do we start ringing the alarm bells. Jonas in ICU with a puncture and deflated lung and missed weeks of training and is riding this well! Math isn’t mathing. So either injuries weren’t as bad as reported and they are rope a doping everyone or modern medicine 💊 is pretty darn amazing. Week three will reveal the truth. If he keeps getting stronger day after day in week 3, regardless of how the other gc guys do then something is very fishy! I’ve been impressed by Remco’s 1st week!
He's pacing himself... i have a feeling those last 3 days will be key😅
Each injury is always different 🤔🦋
I agree - something fishy here.. and the both the team and Jonas.. comments can never be believed
How did Victor achieve “ My Man” status?
@ghtaboma. Horner respects his aggressive riding style. Lead the peloton, lead the chase, too restless to remain a passenger very long.
I like Camp’s never say die attitude. He’s not the most powerful rider out there and wasn’t on the biggest teams yet we still always see him during a race. And, his interviews are great. Respect for sure 👊🦋😂
@@ChrisHornerCyclingthis recent video about your man VC prepping for this TdF was great. He has great discipline.

I'd love to hear what you make of Janas's form, Chris. Does this TT performance shed any light on his capacity on the upcoming mountain stages, in your opinion? Cheers!
BTW Victor told us this was the last time he was going ful in a TT , he never gonna do it again in the future ...
It just seems odd to me to think that 25.1Km and 30 minutes of all-out effort is going to take that much more out of riders who are riding hundreds of kilometers daily. It makes me wonder at the physiological effects of 100% for 30 minutes compared to 80% for 5 hours. Does 100% for 30 minutes really take that much out of riders, especially with the rest day Sunday?
No sport has better sir names.
Camping-knots and Carrot-pants..?!?
Awesome
😂🤪🦋👊
The chesterfield!
I'm not too familiar with ketones. When do you take them? Before a ride, after the ride, daily? Please advise.
Hey there. Remco and the Soudal Quickstep team take them for recovery. So immediately after each ride and immediately before bed. Now they take mega doses while most others take 5 bucks worth.
Frank - CEO
10:29 Jörgensen had the second fastest time on the second part of the stage (after Roglic). How did he start too hard? He did not start hard enough!
Remco was fast, but Victor was blazing…. ☄️🌪️🔥
CHRIS WHY do you like Viktor so much ! you always calling him my man !!!! BTW Wout told the press " the chanse of winning is verry small, but he would go full in, to see what his chanses are for a olympic medal "
Right per usual. Team Visma absolutely should have had Mateo and Wout ride easy and used others as makers for Jonas. Team isn’t strong enough.
No surprises here. We all know Remco is an excellent time trialist. I agree that domestiques should take it easy on a stage like this, they had absolutely nothing to win here.
Excellent analysis of the stage. Remco looked great, but I don't think he can hang with Tadej, Jonas, and Primoz on the mountain-top finishes.
I agree that too many riders go all out on this stage, but if you listen to other contemporary riders they'll tell you that's the mentality of today's racers. I don't get it either.
What’s very strange about the whole going a 100% in a TT thing though. On a normal road stage you will see riders easy up all the time, such Ben Healy. But for reason going top ten in a TT is supposed to mean more. 🤔🤪🦋👊
I'm not a prod, but why does Pogacar leave a whole between his hands and his head ... I don't think that's as Aero as Remco
Put tadej on a spez bike and there wouldn’t not be any competition to look at
Jonas and Remco seem to have that position dialed. Super tight 👊🦋
a 30 min all out effort is not that big of a deal in terms of recovery. In fact you could argue it keeps the legs open. the TTS is not that big for that effort.
'My Man' Chris.
😂🤪🦋👊
Yesterday's TT showed Bernard riding while waving at fans, being blocked and even stopping to kiss his wife. Further on, after the climb, he continued taking it very easy. He finished at 3:11 from the winner, just 1 second behind Gaudu. Two thoughts spring to my mind, one is that Bernard could have done a very good TT had he gone for it, Campenaerts (heard of him?) was 51 seconds behind, so 2:20 before hand waving Bernard. My other thought, the real difference between professional cyclists is not as large as we sometimes think. Some are a little faster on most days, which results in wins. Perhaps the reason why some cyclists, like Kelderman and Kruiswijk, will retire one day with just a few professional wins.
The worry of JV is that Jonas's team obviously isn't as strong this year...WVA is NOT where he was last year, No SEPP and of course Jonas himself isn't where he was last year.
A warning for all Peacock subscribers. They cut off Stage 8 streaming after five hours plus within several kilometers of the end of the stage. Beyond frustrating.
Nice comments on WvA! Guess you are right. But ... on stage 6 it would have been really hard even without Jasper interfering again. They should have punished him last year already. But Le Tour and A.S.O. are mostly looking only for the money and not for fair play in sports. Bad habits. But as we all know awarness and money are rising on bad news and lies and nothing is better to sell than a hero like Cav or Jasper. Last one was on stage 5 causing the accident of Mads Pederson with his turning from far right to far left. UCI rules are clear: "Sprints
2.3.036 Riders shall be strictly forbidden to deviate from the lane they selected when launching into the sprint and, in so doing, endangering others." But Le Tour does not react. If they would have reacted on Jasper instead of Phil Bauhaus, WvA really might have won stage 6. Yeah man that's life as we know it. Do not mess up with the big guys, that is dangerous.
Agreed. No sorinter should ever be allowed to move that much when the road straight ahead is that open. Yet the UCI officials allow it to happen all the time still. The crashes are all their fault. 🤷🏼♂️🦋😱😳
“My man!” 😆
