The sublette part and song just popped up in my mind, I haven't watched it in like 10 years. Wow. As far as independent skate videos go, this is one of the best ever made. Hope everyone involved is doing well all these years later.
Boyish is probably THE most influential independent skate video ever put out. This reached wayyy over the boundaries of skateboarding, and helped shape the people who grew up watching it.

This video means so much to me. I have no clue who these dudes are but I keep coming back almost 10 years later over and over for inspirational.
I'm coming back to this for the first time in a while and I gotta say this video gets more and more valuable to me as the days go by. I remember when this came out. I was 12. I had just begun making my own skate videos in my basement and this came up on my youtube feed one day. I was in total awe of this production. I had literally never seen any video like it let alone about skateboarding. The graphics, the animation, the music, the cuts-- this piece is the essence of montage; the aura of this video is just so powerful. This work goes beyond skateboarding- it's a work of art, and I truly feel so lucky to have grown up watching this. I started filming with a VX and made a couple full lengths a few years back and I always had this video in the back of my head- I would study it and watch it all the time. I don't really make skate videos anymore, but I still find myself inspired by this production time and time again even though the work I am doing is much different. It's really influenced my art/films in only the most positive of ways. Thank you for this gem Jackson Casey.
This comment is exactly where I’m at with this and a few other of Jackson’s earlier videos. I owe everything I do creatively nowadays to these videos because they’re the reason I ever even picked up a camera myself. Also used to make skate videos with my friends back in high school and would watch these videos religiously, they take me back to the times of being young and staying up all hours of the days and nights skateboarding and filming. He truly made something special with this one.
